I agree with other Yelp reviewers who have mentioned the confusion surrounding this bakery's hours. Before making the drive over, we checked the voicemail, which stated they were open until 1:00 PM. We arrived at 11:30 AM only to find the bakery completely closed with no explanation posted. If the business is still operating, updating the voicemail, website, and online listings would save customers a wasted trip and a lot of frustration. It's disappointing to make the effort to visit a local bakery only to find inaccurate information about whether they're open at all. It appears the other yelper took down their review. read more

Lady was really rude. I have never been here before and thought I could walk in and order something. She was like "oh yeah the restaraunt has been closed and turned into an event venue, its not like you can tell." Then yelled to the back canoli. Girl please , even if I could order online or had an event, I wont be back here for that attitude. The canolis were good though. Attitude is a no. And before you reply and say that you posted the changes on social media, OK I dont use that, all your pics on google show different, & the attitude is not something I want. You'd be surpised at how many people DONT use social media. Theyre just looking up on Google, Bakery Mesa and yours is the first sponsored hit. Might wanna change that if walk in customers are a problem instead of giving people who dont even know the attitude. Yeah the sign says restaraunt closed but to me and probably most people that is percieved as ok I can take out but not eat in. I hope God blesses your business & your life abundantly. The dessert was delicious. Their Oreo sandwich tasted like a giant soft Oreo. I especially liked the mini chocolate chips embedded in the chocolate icing. Yum! Bird watching on the patio was fun. read more

Super cute place. Too bad I'm never around this area too far from home. If I'm ever around I'll definitely be back. The hostess are sweet and friendly. Making sure the tables are cleaned right away. They were pretty busy when we came. We ordered the sassy stacker with scrambled eggs. The portions are huge! My daughter couldn't finished hers. I had the sassy hash with corned beef. Wished I added some onions and peppers. But it was just the way I liked it. Crunchy and not salty at all. I had the sausage gravy on the side, which was a good choice. This place had higher reviews than I thought it should be. The staff are all sooo young and they tend to be on their phones when they're not engaged at the front counter. It was just really poor service quality. They ran out of napkins, so everyone's stealing napkins from everyone else. We went up to let them know, and they said that they ran out, which is clearly a poor management issue if they aren't planning ahead for their needs as a cafe. The counters and tables don't get cleaned off well. As for the food and drinks, they were not what we expected. The coffee is burnt and tastes extremely bitter. I regretted not stopping by to the coffee shop a few shops down, if I'm being honest-- we overspent on getting the coffee here because it is just bad quality. One young chef in back is trying to prepare all the food and clearly struggles to keep up with the number of guests. The food itself was adequate, but I noticed that they overcooked the bacon/chorizo and the hash browns. The overall experience leaves a lot to be desired for the amount we paid for it. We will not be coming back, nor do we recommend anyone dines here until these things are handled. read more

My first time there, ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and hash breakfast and it was amazing. Its now ranked number 1 on my breakfast places. Recently ate lunch here and got the club sandwich and it was amazing. I absolutely love this place. Now don't come here for the customer service, I've eaten here about 5 times now and don't think a single employee smiled at me, the food is so good I don't even care. read more

I have had quite a bit of food from here because it's all so yummy! I love that you get a small red velvet cupcake with your lunch but it gets everywhere sometimes. The fact that they close at 5 but stop serving food at 3pm is kinda frustrating and on top of that they have staff that likes to stop much earlier as they please. I did have a terrible experience here once with an employee but once I let another employee know I've had good service since. It's usually real quiet or empty when I go but I think it's the location maybe because the food is really good, especially the different french toasts and philly cheesesteak. read more

First time here with my girlfriend and this bakery is amazing! Great food. I absolutely loved the Piña colada French toast. My girlfriend got the carrot cake French toast and also said it was great. Small quiet place. I should not have had to wait 20 minutes for a waffle while other people that ordered after me were being given their food plates. Eventually I was given part of my meal which was two sunny side up eggs and bacon. I prefer, like most people, to have my food all together and yet my bacon and eggs sat on my plate getting cold. Miserable experience. Once my belgian waffle was delivered, it was undercooked and doughy. You would think after 20 minutes they'd have grilled the waffle to a burnt crisp. Nope. Undercooked. I will not be coming back. Customer service was poor too because I was never given not one apology from the two girls at the counter. I like trying new standalone "Mom & Pop Shops" but in this case, I woulda been better off at a basic chain restaurant. P.S. the "slow dancing heart breakin" country music that streamed on the speakers and filled the room was gross. I'd rather die than listen to that whiney emo cow poke bullshit. read more

Went here for the first time this morning, there was no wait and we were able to order quickly. We ate outside and food came within 15 minutes. My husband like the pina colada French toast the best, he also tried the egg stack but that wasn't his favorite. Their baked goods are where it's at; the cinnamon roll and brownies are really good, and it's a nice bakery to take people to for breakfast or brunch. The location is nice and clean and had great seating. The inside was mostly full by the time we left around 9am. Outdoor seating was empty but we enjoyed it. read more

I REALLY wanted to give more stars, but sadly the sandwich I had ruined the entire experience for me... Granted the Bakery and Salads are great!!! I had one of the "new" sandwiches, the Cubano. The sandwich was on square bread and came with spiral sliced ham, Swiss, mustard and pickle. A Cubano traditionally has 2 types of pork, and not a random piece of bacon? For the price, I really expected something more. We did have a 1/2 size mixed berry Salad that was great! Just get rid of the onion hahaha. I will come back and try other options. So me and my wife are hungry and i was craving breakfast . saw this place and the reviews so i was like let's go try this place , we walk in walk to the front counter and no one is there. i was like ok must be short staffed, as i was a bartender for fogo de chao for 2 years and worked at a mexican family restaurant and served 3 1/2 yrs , so i am not harsh unless it's terrible terrible customer service .. the busser saw us standing there didn't say anything... i hear the lady's chatting it up in the back and after standing for at least 5 to 7 minutes the Woman comes out the back doesn't say anything or acknowledge us at all ... so at that point i told my wife let's leave, glad i didn't spend a dime .. came to first watch was seated immediately with excellent customer service. read more

While visiting with my sis for a birthday pedi in the same complex, we decided to grab some late breakfast at Sassy's. There was a small patio with a few tables, as well as some seating inside. It was sure busy in there for a small strip mall cafe! Must be good! Ordering is done by getting in line and ordering at the counter. Hopefully when you're done, there's a place for you to sit. We grabbed the last area with (2) stools at a wall bar. The entire eating ares was sticky and soiled, and I didn't witness anyone wiping down tables as patrons left - just clearing plates. The decor was vintage hodge-podge, with examples of their cakes, condiments and things for sale, and photos on the walls, such as "Doing dishes"...which was a photo of two guys doing dishes at a commercial sink. The availability of napkins, or rather lack thereof, was strange, as was the partition-mounted basket of tableware. The staff was very young, and lacked a little in the tact and service departments. One gal went to a table to give them the bad news about something they ordered being out, and she said "ok, so don't shoot the messenger, but...". That's not the way, young one. That's not the way. Sis ordered a build-your-own omelette, and I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito. I wanted the quiche, but they were sold out. The omelette was pretty big, but wasn't a plate...everything here is ala carte. The avocados on top were ripe and fresh, as was the spinach inside. The burrito was tasty as well, with a little kick (but not too much) to the diced (not tubal pureed) chorizo. I could have used some more cheese, but it was great nonetheless. We didn't get drinks here, since we had gotten teas for our pedi. No one gave us a hard time about bringing them in with us. I can't imagine they would once I saw the beverage options. There was a refrigerator of bottled beverages, a soda fountain, a commercial coffee urn, and what I can only describe as a gas station hot chocolate machine. Let's talk for a minute about the things I didn't have....the amazing-looking wall of carbohydrates and sugar I encountered at the bakery cafe. Cupcakes for days, with piled-high sugared frosting. Brownies, eclairs, cannoli, cookies and breads, oh my! Folks ordering the warm, gooey cinnamon rolls likely noticed my stares, and maybe the drooling. I would definitely eat here, or even order to go from Sassy's. They seem to have a nice breakfast menu, with all day (8-3) breakfast. As I understand it, this is a second location. I'd be interested to see how the other one runs, as opposed to this one. But I will come here again! read more

The service was good. The food, on the other hand, was mediocre at best. I had to ask for butter for my french toast. The hashbrowns needed to be cooked more, and there were reminents of burnt onions in them. The creeps were supposed to have white chocolate cream, but all that could be tasted was the whipping cream. So my wife and I about a week ago see a sign in Sassy's that said "whole quiche pies for $25". So I plan a luncheon with my team today and we'd planned on picking up a whole quiche and warming it at our house. My wife went to purchase a whole quiche a little while ago. The girl at the register was completely ugly to my wife today. When my wife asked for a whole quiche her reply was "we don't do that". My wife pointed out the sign we saw a week ago. Again, this girl's sarcastic response was "well maybe at our other store but not here". My wife then asked "Did I need to order in advance"? The girl's reply was "Yeah, maybe with at least a week notice." A week notice for one whole quiche. Never, ever again Sassy's.
