This is a review where the customer service spoke more to me than the coffee. First off, the coffee was great. I got the spring special which was carrot cake, and it wasn't very sweet but they have a station with sugar for those who may want it sweeter. I personally like the less-sweet option, so I'm happy. The cashier sat and talked with me though while my drink was being made and was so sweet. Even to the girls ahead of me in line, it's like she's friends with everyone haha. And not in a "Dutch Bros in your face" kind of way either, which is nice when I'm running solo. Stopped in on a Saturday morning, there was a good line but it moved really quickly and coffee came out fast. Service was very friendly and didn't feel rushed. A few interesting latte options (we got the carrot cake latte) and a good amount of in house made syrups ( we also tried a sugar free vanilla oat milk latte). Coffee was interesting and delicious. On the weekends they offer breakfast tacos, which were $4.50 for a single taco which seems like a lot but they were good. They have a good variety of pastries and the blueberry muffin was delicious (and they'll warm it up for you!). The location itself has indoor and outdoor seating and seems to be a very family friendly vibe. Lots of families with children and people sitting with their dogs as well. She also let me know that other than the sugar free syrup, all syrups are homemade by the coffee shop. You can tell that they are! The flavor is super strong and delicious. First, my husband and I want to thank Harley, our barista, for the amazing iced coffees she made for us. We gave her "free rein" if you will, to surprise us and she did not disappoint. This barista knows her way around a coffee bar. Secondly, and the most important to us, was her emphatic spirit towards us. Today is Memorial Day and she asked us what we were up to. I told her just grabbing a couple coffees before an appointment. Then, and honestly I don't always mention this, I told her of our son in law, who was a Marine and was killed in service of our country. She was so sweet and kind to us even taking the time to look at pictures my husband pulled up. Then she sweetly said the coffees were on her, and it just filled our hearts with love and gratitude. Thank you, Harley,for the outstanding coffee choices but most of all for your compassionate kindness on such a heavy day. It meant the world to us. Stopping by this charming coffee shop randomly with friend. We didn't expect anything much but cold drinks with caffeine. As soon as we stepped in, the staff greeted us warmly with a big smile that when you know you will have a great memory already. I ordered matcha latte and it's perfect and well balanced with little but sweet which I liked it a lot. The shop offers both indoor and outdoor sitting with a high ceiling and open glass windows which make it feel very relaxing, comfortable and inviting. I went on a Saturday morning on my way home from some shopping and it was still busy around 10 am. The line was long, but it didn't take long to have my order taken and since I just got a cold brew with cream they directly handed me my order. The barista taking my order was sweet! I have had Hooligans on my list to visit since it opened and I'm so happy I finally tried it out! I came on a Saturday around 11, there were customers but only two people ahead of me and I got my drink really fast, wasn't too busy! They made their own syrups which is a huge plus for me! I absolutely love matcha tonics and espresso tonics so I was thrilled to see they gave both! I ended up getting the house espresso tonic which had lemon and lime. It was perfect! Located in Cannon Beach at the corner of Power and Warner in Mesa, this hip coffee shop has an open feeling and laid-back vibe. I have stopped in a few times to really get a feel for the place and find myself coming back whenever I am in the area. They have indoor seating and an outside patio off to the side; the counter area where you place your order and drink menu are small but personable. They offer delicious breakfast tacos if you can grab one before they run out and a small selection of pastries. The reason for four stars is their drink sizes seems to be one size, although a small latte does have two shots. My go to is the Grocery Store Cookie Latte which is simply smooth and satisfying. The breakfast tacos are flavorful but small and I ordered a cinnamon roll which was light and fluffy and not overly sweet. The only thing was the price point which at $7.00 seemed a little high to me. Overall, this place definitely deserves a stop in and I highly recommend trying one of their special lattes. read more

Decent matcha tried this place on a trip, the inside is cute and the service was good.

First off, I always prefer local businesses rather than the huge corporate places, so this place fits that bill. Somehow, we ended up here during their grand opening as we were going through the area checking out another spots launch. There was a long line, but the staff got everyone through there fairly quickly. The prices are as expected and what we ordered was good and made well. The staff members that were there were friendly and attentive, so that was refreshing for their debut. The atmosphere is very trendy & fits the vibe of it's inspiration. They have a great space. The inside is presented nicely for those that want to stay indoors to enjoy their drinks. Only downside IMO was wished the drink size was bigger especially for the price. read more

Whether it be the military veteran gift shop, the big remote work warehouse, or the drive through coffee stores. Only Hooligans is a bit more comfortable and coffee forward like a more "hipster" coffee cafe. Super clean, comfortable, cute, coffee love. They offer plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt my conversation with the staff was genuine. I ordered my go-to, an oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon powder. Hooligan's serves Presta Coffee Roasters, which is a roaster based in Tucson, AZ. We stopped by last Saturday for some much needed caffeine and glad we checked them out. I brought my sister, cousin, and friend with me and well got ourselves something to drink. We ordered: 3 Iced Grocery Store Sugar Cookie lattes 1 Iced Matcha 1 Cinnamon roll The iced Grocery Store Sugar Cookie lattes were ok. I expected to be able to taste the sugar cookie flavoring more but I could not really taste anything. 2/3 lattes were given to us with sprinkles while the third latte was not. Not sure why the third one did not include sprinkles if we all ordered it the same way. My sister tried the matcha and she said it was good. The cinnamon roll was dry and not heated up. Service was excellent as the cashier was very friendly and made some small talk. The inside was very busy and there were no tables or chairs available. I would have grabbed something to eat, but by time I got there, there was only one lone scone waiting in case. Place looks pretty new, but there's good parking around it, and I think it will do quite well in future. Service was epic. This is very cute coffee shop in Mesa at a new area calling itself Cannon Beach (must be due to the wave park coming in!) We were greeted right away and the barista upfront was so nice and welcoming! She's a great conversationalist! The interior was very modern, with seating near the front, near the back, and outside. My husband and I ordered a honey cinnamon latte, matcha, banana bread, and apple cinnamon roll. It took a long while for our order to come out, not sure why. But they brought it over to us where we were sitting. The honey cinnamon syrup was VERY good, and I recommend it highly with their matcha. Hubs and I decided to try out a new coffee place and Hooligans did not disappoint. Prices are very reasonable. They have various coffee and non coffee options plus some yummy food choices. I had their brisket breakfast taco and it was so good. I got their matcha latte with oat milk and hubs got their cold brew. Both were refreshing and enjoyable. They opened up on Dec 9th as a soft opening but apparently they got so busy that they're now officially open. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating. They're a pet friendly business but they do not offer pup cups. Nevertheless, Gunther still got attention which is enough for him. The place is open and clean. Hubs and I will be back! He is hoping to snag a brisket taco or two next time since I got the last one. read more

Son had vanilla Late' said he liked it. I had cappuccino - excellent. An actual cappuccino. So often you order a cap and it ends up being a late w/ 12 ounce of milk. Coffee was bright/fruity. So great product. Three stars for service. Greeted by a guy with that indifferent boutique coffee shop attitude you experience in so many boutique shops. I don't need my hand kissed or the barista to bow down to me, but just act like its not effort to put a smile in your face. I am spending $20 + for a couple of coffees and cookies. There's a reason so many of the chains, and some smaller businesses, have gone to "Welcome in" and "what are you up to today." I appreciate what they're trying to do - they want to offer a friendly experience; but it actually bugs me, because it comes across as disingenuous. However, all you have to do is say "Hi - what can I get you" or something like that and make it sound like you mean it. I guess what I'm saying is, act like you like your job. The lady who served the coffee was great at the end. Maybe its just me. I'm a boomer and just can't figure out why so many of these coffee places have act like there's nothing to be happy about. It's just a strip mall coffeehouse on Power Road but this place was JAM PACKED on a weekend morning with families, joggers, and young people. Awesome coffee and tea here, and very kind (and patient!) staff. A nice touch is their selection of toys for kids, including a mini barista station. Nice spot! read more

So let me start by saying three things: 1- I am not usually a review leaver, yet I live and die by my yelp recs. 2- I am a huge coffee snob and am pretty picky where I spend my coffee dollars. 3- I don't live in the East valley, so something's gotta be pretty worth it to make a 30 min drive. All this in mind, I had had many friends tell me I had to check out Hooligan's, but honestly I'd dismissed it because the name didn't give it that 3rd wave, house made syrups, coffee gravitas. My loss. Today I found myself in the East Valley, driving right by this highly recommended place and the stars aligned to finally give them a shot. Walked in to the cutest, cleanest coffee shop- plenty of seating for coffee chats, and plenty of tables for coffee work sessions. Was drawn in by the bright, creative spring menu- who's seen a honey dew melon espresso tonic before?- and had a kind, welcoming experience ordering with Morgan who recommended the Lemon Drop as a matcha. I will tell you, I've been done wrong by matcha before and politely declined so I could test their coffee first for a home run before giving the matcha a shot. Waited about 2 minutes (if that) and Morgan not only had my coffee ready to go, but also had the matcha version waiting for me, on the house, just so I could open my horizons and try it out. This is what I'm talking about when I think unreasonable hospitality - found in coffee shop customer service! Totally non pressure, but just a simple act of kindness to try something they thought was really good! Which, indeed, it was. Not sure I'm a ride or die matcha girlie yet, but now I'll always associate matcha with good people and sweet surprises.
