a plate of sushi rolls on a table
D H.

This is a great local restaurant in the Vail Valley located in Edwards. The food is ALWAYS exceptional!!! Miso Soup, Dynamite Shrimp are fantastic starters! ANY sushi or sashimi you order is going to be fresh and of the absolute highest quality!!! Rolls, rolls, and more rolls. So many common rolls found at great sushi restaurants paired alongside so many custom rolls - something for every diet and taste! Fresh air!!! Beautiful mountains!!! And, fresh Sushi!!!

food little salty that being said food service was horrible did not feel welcome at this place felt rushed with our food when it got to our table it wasn't busy at all clearly then one of our server who came and got our plate made me felt even more rushed by yelling to ask if we were done yet alone her experience with that place for 16 years shows that for sure will not be coming back to that place yet alone felt discriminated by how front of the house kept looking while we were eating yet alone i felt that my husband had to be my own server cause clearly from the beginning were told of nothing not about specials or drinks or water to begin with yet alone how it was a nice day and shades were down it could of brightened up the place a little felt depressed kinda being in their is how it felt .

$43 in overpriced sushi rolls

Disappointing- They charge you higher prices than what is stated on their website. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and 2 philly rolls. The rolls were 6 tiny pieces each and it was $43 before tax. Don't waste your money here.. drive to Vail to Matsuhisa, the sushi is much better and the rolls are cheaper!

Are you required to have a reservation?

No, but this is a great place to eat and we have found that starting December 16th and later it gets busy, especially after 7 pm. We went back in February same ski season last year and t was much busier than December. Great sushi!

Both were fresh and a perfect way to begin the meal. For my entrée I had the salmon nigiri, scallop nigiri, a California roll, and bluefin nigiri, and each piece was outstanding. The fish was incredibly fresh, buttery, and clean-tasting with none of that overly "fishy" flavor you sometimes get- just pure, high-quality seafood that melts in your mouth. I also ordered a mocktail that was refreshing and well balanced, which was a nice touch. The waitress was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Even though the restaurant is on the smaller side, the quality of the food and the warm service make it a place I would absolutely recommend. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in beaver creek!

I have eaten at every restaurant on the square except there. We arrive at 2:37pm and the host told he could not seat us because the close at 3pm a reopen at 4:30pm and they take their last seating at 2pm for lunch! We graciously left and said we were sorry. I go back there today by myself at 2pm and was seated at the bar by the same host. Sat down at the bar the server was Kurt and pushing, which I am use to up here, did not even excuse herself or tell she was leaving. Kind of rude as a server. As I was finishing up I notice people coming 2:37pm, 2:45pm and 2:50pm and the same host that refused to serve us sat every one of them at a table. This was my first time eating this restaurant and after our experience the day before. It is not a good look. I do not think will eat there again. Derrick Poe

He was nice and attentive and made sure we loved our meal! It's the very end of ski season so they had a limited menu as well. With this said, it was so delicious! If you want authentic Szechuan this is the place! What we got: - Wonton soup - homemade dumplings had a good ginger and garlic flavor. Big enough for two as an app. - Double cooked pork - absolutely outstanding. Big portion with vegetables, fermented black beans, so good! - Spicy crispy fish - highly recommend this if you like spicy food. I love this dish whether the chicken or fish variations and this might have been the best I've had! I can't say enough about the Chinese food. We were blown away with how good they were. Our server Patrick was incredible. He was so friendly and welcoming. He's a serious skier and you can often find him backpacking 30+ pounds of cooking gear to make fresh food slope side! We have tried many places in Vail and I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. The interior is small so I recommend making a reservation. Pro tip: it's BYOB so bring a bottle of wine or a few beers!

First of all, this restaurant is beautiful. Located above the Ice skating rink in vail village, the…read morerestaurant is large with high ceilings and very welcoming. There is a gorgeous bar, a separate omakase room, and large dining room area. I will continue to go back to Matauhisa to any of their locations simply for their miso cod. The appetizer lettuce cups are delicious and we ate them too quick to even picture but the main miso dish is one of my favorite of all time. The yuzu olive oil sauce is so good it can drink it. The nigiri was all so fresh and the powdered miso on the fish special made it so savory and delicious. The uni shooter was amazing with uni quail egg and sake. Overall the food meets the high end criteria that comes with the name and price, definitely an all time favorite place to go!

Service was TOP NOTCH & the ambiance is amazing. 100000/10 must go!!!! (Spicy tuna roll has my heart, Chef Nobu knows what he's doing)
