Not a place for 2 young children. 2 hour wait for our food then took 2 rolls home kids got ansy after being there over 2 hours 1 roll was wrong was taken off the bill. 1 roll paid for never received. Seems if the owner is gone the cats do play. So much drinking at the bar the rest of the patrons were forgotten. Others came were served their meal after we arrived. My recommendation is don't take kids. Don't think they like kids there so you're ignored so the kids won't come back. Great food on the flip side read more

My husband and I had our #1 spot for sushi (which we still love) but the pandemic has allowed us to explore our other options for sushi. We were happy to discover that Sato had outdoor dining so we checked it out and let's just say it is our new sushi spot. Everything is so good, from the crunch salad, Sato special roll (Keto friendly, and they do have a couple of other keto options as well), feliz navidad, the Gold Crunch is one of our faves. So I went here with my two girlfriends and I wasn't overly impressed. I had the crunch rolls. It was alright. Wasn't nothing spectacular. The ambience was chill and relaxing. AWFUL!!!!! I'd choose Red Salmon over this place any day! The service was bad, like unfriendly waitresses & slooww service. The food was disgusting! My husband & I didn't even finish our expensive 3 rolls because everything was mush. For reference, at Red Salmon we usually order 4 rolls altogether & polish 'em off. It tasted like they put mayo in everything or used imitation crab - I don't know, but no thanks. The rolls are like $3-4 more than Red Salmon (so that's like $10+ a roll). I only keep comparing them because that's where we usually go, but we wasted my Mother's day because we always pass Sato and wanted to try it out. The soju was weak. I do like the Asian decor here. AC is only on the first level tables. Second level seating area has a swamp cooler and owner won't turn it on COOL. It's a bit of a loud machine. Sushi is very good, but this place needs another waitress and maybe another sushi chef. I did Like that they are easy on the rice on the rolls but they were also cheap on the protein that was on the roll. They didn't have certain items that we wanted on the menu. I ordered a flavored Soku and it tasted like mineral water. It was ok. DO NOT order the Red dragon, the spicy tuna inside the roll was TOO spicy. First timers here. Wow. I'm so disappointed! I use to love Sato and there sushi was one of the best in the AV but not any longer. I was craving some sushi and am currently pregnant so I can only have tempura rolls that have been cooked. I decided on the Lancaster roll and an order of baked mussels. The sushi was clearly old the furthest from fresh and literally inedible. It smelt and tasted awful. I had to throw it all away, being pregnant I can't take any chances. Being a sushi fanatic I chose this based off of good reviews.. I was sadly disappointed. Never in my life have I spit sushi out, but this one I almost had to. The flavors did not compliment each other with whatever sauces they put on it. One roll I ordered came with raw purple onions on top... which the description said nothing about, so I wasn't able to eat it. I called the restaurant asking if they could take it off my bill since I couldn't eat it, they said the owner doesn't do that. Favorite sushi spot on the AV. Although I do not eat fishes, they make wonderful veggie rolls and a excellent vegetable curry bowl. The sushi chefs are always wonderful and the servers are very diligent refilling my water at least 4 times a visit! It appears they have the biggest seating available, so there's usually seating right away, but I recommend sitting at the bar to chat it up with the chef's. read more

The place felt very dingy and dark with a musky smell to it. The floor was unkept and customer service was not great. Employees acted like they were zombies walking around lifeless. There was 4 at our table and only one menu was handle to us. We asked for another one and they said no because they are limited to menus; mind you there was maybe two other people in the restaurant, so we all took turn looking. Waitress came to take our order and left before asking if we like anything else. Food came out and it was not good at all. Sushi rice was so over cooked and mushy. None of the rolls were good at all.
