On the other hand, what I at first perceived to be chatty friendliness soon began to feel extremely uncomfortable and invasive. She asks an inordinate amount of questions, nosy ones, and doesn't back off even when it's clear the client doesn't want to answer. She also makes sweeping generalizations about entire groups of people and when you're lying flat on your back, at the mercy of her zapping needle, it's not really the time to get into a heated discussion. She also once surprised me with a significant price increase that there had been no warning about. For me, the tipping point was when she kept insisting I must have a disorder or condition because I'm overweight and have facial hair and inquiring time after time if I'd seen someone about it. I assume she was referring to PCOS, which many thin people have as well, but it really doesn't matter. She is not a medical professional and I did not come here for a diagnosis. I came for electrolysis. Had she said, "I don't think your hair growth is responding to electrolysis and I don't want you to waste your money if it's not helping. You might want to see an endocrinologist to see if there's an underlying cause before you continue," and then left it to me, that would've been entirely different. I stopped coming here after that, and it's a decision I do not regret.

On the left side of the window though, it reads Laser Aesthetics Studio. I decided to enter. Inside, there are women getting their hair done. Expect to be given weird looks as a newcomer. But don't worry, you're not there for them ;) I asked for Zhanna and they had me wait towards the back. Although not your typical medspa and space is limited, the area is clean and she sanitizes your glasses with an alcohol pad before service. (Which should be done at all laser places. If it isn't, that's a clear indication that you should LEAVE) Zhanna is very thorough and doesn't rush your session. I have about four more sessions to go and I'm looking forward to the results!

When I brought it to their attention, I felt there was an initial attempt to place the blame on me. During that same situation, I was encouraged to book a full set despite having recently received one & was asked to return the following day to complete the service. While the issue was eventually resolved professionally, the experience left me feeling frustrated & undervalued as a client. While I fully respect everyone's right to value their time & services, a last-minute disagreement regarding compensation ultimately led us to withdraw the invitation. The situation reinforced some of the concerns I already had regarding communication & professionalism. The receptionist was very friendly and helped me to schedule all of my appointments on the same date so I'm not coming to Laser Away a million times like I work here lol (not sure why they were scattered out to begin with) She also informed me of the update where we can be in the sun before/ after laser. I was concerned how was I going to be outside this summer with 8 treatments remaining. Glad it won't be an issue now. The woman who did my laser (I wish I would have gotten her name) was very informative and made me feel comfortable. This was my second session so I'm still pretty new. I added on a new service, my upper lip (because why be hairless everywhere else and still have a mustache?!) and the woman walked me through what it would feel like and even did a test on my neck before we began- I appreciated that. She was thorough and took her time making sure to get every spot. I already booked my next appointment and I can't wait to come back! I've seen amazing results after the first session so I can't wait to see if any hair grows back now.

I came to Satori for the sort of treatment that would make most customers blush to even name aloud--and certainly I was apprehensive about what to expect when inviting a stranger to probe the crevices of my intimate areas with a laser. Lucky for me, Tomomi is a veteran at the procedure and an absolutely delightful presence. She neither hesitated nor held back when braving my hairy horrors, and she has treated me with the utmost respect, carefully positioning and holding the right bits of skin, while I've simply lain on the table with a stress ball in hand. (Worth noting: not all technicians will spread your cheeks for you! That's a generous Tomomi gift.) During the laser procedures, she has been communicative each and every time to be sure I'm comfortable and well informed about what she's doing--consent and caution at every turn! While my first visit left me feeling a bit sore, my recovery after each subsequent visit has been unnoticeable, which is shocking considering how DRASTICALLY my hair has been vanquished. When Tomomi told me that hair growth would be reduced by ~15% with each session, she was not kidding; if anything, she might have understated. I've completed four sessions and my hair is sparser and quite noticeably lighter in hue, softer in texture, generally less... present! All as promised, and all with such ease. I've used laser before and have switched around to a few places due to bad service, bad machines, closings or just too expensive. I tried out satori laser because of a Groupon deal, and tried it out. My first technician was ok, but i was wowed by the machine. Painless! The most you feel is a stronger heat pad type of feeling against your skin, but it's quick and doesn't leave you needing a drink. After the first technician, I thankfully got katherine who is a dear. She's helpful at explaining what is going on, what to expect and different techniques other spas use. She's certified in various spa related things (i'm so technical, I know), but it feeds into making you feel reassured you know what she's doing. Besides that, she's super friendly and sweet! Btwn her and the tech, this is a pretty solid spot, even though it's fairly far for me. The front desk is also staffed with really nice people, who have accommodated my appointment shifts. read more

I've been coming to Satori for the past 6 years and met my favorite technician Tomomi at Penn station location. I've been following her ever since because she is absolutely the BEST!!! She is very professional, experienced, patient, caring and knowledgeable. She pays attentions to small details and her technique is amazing!!! I used to go to different laser centers and my experiences at Satori is phenomenal. Tomomi is very thorough and doesn't miss spots. I feel very relaxed and calm every treatment. They use the best machine in laser hair removal industry. The result has been great and my skin is super smooth. Satori is the easiest, most professional, solid place for laser. They're very accommodating with your schedule, everyone who works at the front desk is lovely!! The way you can text to change the time of your appointment is awesome, and they're very good with keeping you up to date with your appointments (it's easy to forget because they're so infrequent!) - which I appreciate. The service kind of depends on the technician - I've seen 4 technicians total and only one was lackluster and didn't do a great job. However, Yecsuri is AMAZING. She's so informative, kind, quick, responsive to your pain, SO thorough, and just all around great. Go with her if you can!! She is excellent at her job, very professional, but also incredibly kind and patient. I'm so glad I chose this place. I did some searching as this was my first time doing laser treatment. I saw there were so many good reviews and the prices were affordable and decided to take the chance. The office is brand new and was just opened recently- its very clean. All staff wear masks and follow proper health guidelines due to covid and they do temp checks. They also make sure you sanitize your hands upon arrival before checking in on the kiosk machine. I was a bit nervous for my first session because I thought it would be painful- in fact its not... I'm so glad tsira is my technician/ esthestican. I went to go get my upper lip lasered, and as of right now, I have done 5 sessions at the Brooklyn location. My hair is literally not growing!!! Except for a little few strays. I was told that was normal. I am really happy with my results!!!! I am a person who hates shaving or waxing so laser was a really good option for me because I did not want to have to worry about unwanted hair (results vary from person to person, I am Filipino so I do have a lot of hair, however, it is not so thick). The place is always professional and clean. 6 sessions is $158 for upper lip, and they give you options: 3 sessions $89, or $33 per session. I think it's nice that they give you different payment options. I am really happy with my results and my laser lady (Tatiana) I will definitely be coming back! read more

My experience with Satori Laser has been an eye opener for me. I used to pluck my chin hairs until I would bruise my skin and ended up with dark spots. I started Satori Laser and I have seen a big difference. I no longer pluck, my chin hair is coming out less and also less course and the dark spots are disappearing since I no longer pluck. The staff is exceptional and polite and are always there to help with any questions/concerns you may have and the technicians are experienced. I am a clean freak and can't say enough about how clean and bright this place is. Each visit I never have to wait more than a few minutes before I am called and my procedure takes less than 5 min. All I can say is BOOK AN APPOINTMENT NOW! Getting laser hair removal is best self care decision I made. Definitely worth the process. I originally booked 6 sessions for my Brazilian area and added an additional 3 sessions. I'm now on my last treatment and barely have any hair growth if any. As a POC I can say the laser worked well with my skin, no irritations or burns etc. I recommend Katherine, she's amazing, very informative and friendly. She fast and makes the process feel almost painless. I also seen Tatiana 1-2 times, she's quick and efficient as well. The place is clean and the all of the staff are nice. I discovered that I have PCOS. I began to develop unwanted hair... I had already considered laser hair removal because a coworker shared her experience. I was skeptical at first. I really liked how helpful the staff were at Satori. They answered all of my questions and offered a bundle deal and a free partial session. It was more affordable than I thought it would be. It didn't even hurt half as bad as I thought it would. I liked the style of the office and I like how they are constantly sanitizing everything. I had a really great experience at this location! It one of their newest locations and its so beautiful and especially clean which is very important during these times. I have been waiting for them to open because my wife speak highly of them. And I am so happy because they now have a location in Brooklyn. The space is amazingly cleaned. They made sure all their clients is safe because they check temperature of everyone who's walking in. Clean and Sanitize after every client. They follow new protocol for covid. I've only been to the Montague St. location, and they're so nice! You're greeted with positive energy as soon as you walk in. They offer something to drink as you check in. I've also noticed how clean they are. They're constantly wiping down surfaces, including seats. The only technician I've gone to is Tatiana. She is so calm and gentle and really makes the process enjoyable, despite the fact that you got a laser shooting at you repeatedly. She doesn't like when they are honest to clients about packages. She prefers packages to expire and then never tells the client even though she says they don't expire. Expects a mind reader. Lies and says she is sick when she isn't or doesn't want to see a client. Or blames the receptionist for her mistake. Have heard a lot of stories of "sensitive" receptionists because she makes them cry. She shouldn't be allowed to run a business I wouldn't trust her to do anything on me.

That said, what I can tell you is that they are the nicest folks in here. D was so sweet; she quickly and efficiently set me up with a gift certificate to give to my gorgeous but not quite as flawless as this (:: points to face ::) wife. My wife in turn was extremely pleased with the gift, so if you're looking to get in the good graces of someone you may have disparaged slightly in a Yelp review, I highly recommend getting them a gift certificate to Anor Spa.

The space was clean and comfortable and the staff was courteous and kind. Alla, my technician, was very sweet, made sure I was comfortable, explained everything she was doing to my skin/face and generally had a warm, kind presence. My skin looked great (really great) afterwards for weeks and she gave me some helpful skincare advice for my day to day routine. I've definitely been to fancier places but for the price you really can't go wrong here, awesome value for NYC. I'll be back.

Vanessa has helped me navigate it all, with both my facials (I do The Works) and advice for home care. She is incredibly thorough, her energy is lovely, and though my skin is on the sensitive side, her instincts have always been spot on. And of course, she has skin like a goddess. Over all the technician was professional and explained the steps. She talked and made my laugh thru the service. Glad it's over and the end result was fantastic.
