I had never been here before but I came for a facial (bday present from my hubby - lucky me : ) and was really impressed. The space was clean and comfortable and the staff was courteous and kind. Alla, my technician, was very sweet, made sure I was comfortable, explained everything she was doing to my skin/face and generally had a warm, kind presence. My skin looked great (really great) afterwards for weeks and she gave me some helpful skincare advice for my day to day routine. Charos is amazing! I am a crybaby when it comes to pain. I swear to you that this is the least painful wax I have gotten in NYC. I have tried so many places that claim their wax was "painless" but the wax they use here is the real deal. Super clean, friendly service. I had a facial before COVID happened and my skin was baby soft. I love how the Charos (owner) never pushed me to buy any products. (I hate when spas do that, it immediately tells me that they are all in it for the money.) I went to this place for the first time today and saw Klara. She was just simply amazing and so nice. I got a deep cleansing facial and my skin looks amazing and feels even better. I came here for my first ever and as of this review second ever bikini wax. I am a legit child when it comes to pain. Klara was super nice and talked to me the entire time. She also was fast, in and out in 30 min, which I learned is what you want when it comes to a bikini wax. I have nothing to compare to but the wax seems to be special (a dry and pull type) and was not that painful and everything is painful to me. All in all I am happy with both experiences and will definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially anyone nervous about getting a bikini wax. read more

This place is on the pricier side for a wax but it is worth it. When you arrive, they have a small waiting room with hot water for tea and cookies. The attendant is very friendly and it is very easy to schedule an appointment (I book through their website and they will email you pretty immediately for dates and times that work best). There are two rooms for waxes so they are busy but it is worth it. I can't repeat that enough. They use a hard wax that goes on hot and easy and comes off almost painlessly. I was shocked at how much better this experience was than my previous waxes. And the woman who did mine went slow and took it easy to make sure she was thorough. I can't recommend Anor Spa enough. The esthetician was also very friendly and made me feel at ease. She gave a wonderful massage during the facial. I no longer live in the neighborhood, but one of the things I miss most about Cobble Hill is Charos at Anor Spa. She is one of the nicest, most down to earth person I've ever met and she just happens to be an extremely skilled waxer. Seriously ladies (and gents), it is the most pleasant experience as far as waxing goes. I won't say it's painless, but it's definitely one of the least painful brazilian bikini wax jobs I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Even while pregnant the pain was minimal. Much better than Shobha in Manhattan, which was previously my go to spot. Needless to say this salon does NOT double dip. I really can't say enough about Charos. She works extremely hard and will try her best to fit you in last minute if you can't plan in advance (ahem...me). One time she let me come AFTER closing time and didn't rush the job at all!! Charos works magic...on your face. One of the best facials I've ever had and by far the best facial waxing ever. She is super sweet, gentle, patient and knowledgeable. Her products are natural, non irritating and soothing. I especially love her Hungarian products made from fruits and veggies. Extractions are done as gently as possible and the ambiance is amazing. I made an appointment for the 4 weeks after and I almost felt like I could put it off a few weeks! Klara makes you feel so comfortable, which is great for a first timer. After my first facial here, I had to come back for a 2nd one. I made my first appointment after seeing the great reviews and was definitely not disappointed. It's cozy and intimate, plus it's 1-on-1. I crawled into the soft, comfy, HEATED bed!! That alone made it amazing, but it doesn't end here! Charos' hands were soft and her voice gentle. I went in with a frequent breakout problem and she recommended a blend of the deep cleansing acne treatment with a short LED light treatment. I said, "Do what you want to me, I trust you!" The extractions hurt like a m***f**** as usual, but so sterile. I heard her open a new pack and new gloves every time. Over the next few weeks I definitely noticed the change in my skin. I had about 3 new breakouts over the next month, which was a LOT less than my usual. I was amazed! I went back for my 2nd facial with Charos a couple of days ago and it was another wonderful experience; I almost fell asleep on the table! The facials I got were pricey ($100 each time) but I'm budgeting to keep this in my monthly routine. It's worth it! read more

I really wanted this place to be good based on the reviews but I'm pretty sure they're all fake now that I'm reading some of them back. I got a Brazilian wax here and they charged me an extra $10 to do the bikini line. I actually feel like my waxing lady must've thought I was stupid because I was being nice and going along with the whole thing but after I got the bill I realized my mistake and felt pretty embarrassed at letting her talk me into it. Her explanation for the upcharge was that they (management) count everything pretty much as extra which I've never heard of before. To demonstrate that it was outside the normal area she used a different wax and it irritated my bikini line and was noticeably harsher on the skin- pulling much more. I don't really understand what the point was of doing all that just for $10? There were actually few other parts I won't mention that made me uncomfortable so I wouldn't recommend the experience. read more

About two years ago I was referred to Anor Spa by a friend who was bragging about their facial and wax services. I got a facial and loved it. Every step of the the process was explained to me and the products used were great for my skin. She also does not push products on you and is very honest. She told me straight that I didn't need anything else at this point. Other places have tried to sell me everything. I just recently started getting waxed there and can't believe I was missing out all these years simply because I was afraid. Charos makes the experience very relaxing as she carries on a friendly conversation. I was afraid because of the horror stories I have heard about waxing in general so I started with an underarm wax, eventually went onto half leg, then a bikini and now trust her with all of the above and a Brazilian.
