Food: The flavors here really nailed authentic Gujarati food. We kicked things off with the unlimited pani puri, and the pani itself was packed with flavor. They serve one table at a time for that, which works well overall, but during lunch when people are watching the clock, they might want to rethink that a bit. The main thali came with roti, rotla, and puri, all served piping hot at the table -- a nice touch. It included three vegetable dishes, plus dal and kadhi. We also got a couple of farsans on the side, hara bhara kabab and dhokla. The dhokla had good flavor but was on the denser side -- could use a lighter, softer texture. Rounding it out, there was khichdi and rice, and for dessert, mango ras and halwa. Service: was a mixed bag. Most of the staff were attentive, but a few clearly needed more training -- for an unlimited thali experience, you want staff who are proactively topping off your plate, not making you flag someone down for refills every time. One server in particular stood out as genuinely warm and on top of things -- honestly, he'd be a great person to train the rest of the team. Ambiance: The space itself was clean and thoughtfully laid out for a thali restaurant, with all four-top tables that made it easy for staff to move around and serve efficiently. All in all, the thali lineup was well thought out, and while service has room to improve, it wasn't bad by any means. Update: We've visited here multiple times, so this isn't a one-off complaint. The food is great, but the service and management are inconsistent. Today, despite having a 1:15 PM reservation, we were made to wait over 30 minutes while empty tables were visible inside. We offered a table near the entrance (where service has been slow in our past experience), and when we requested seating inside, we were left waiting. The communication from front desk felt dismissive and unclear, which made the situation frustrating. We eventually left without eating. If reservations aren't honored, what's the point of taking them? Very disappointing experience. read more

My family loved it. The staff was super nice and welcoming, and everything we tried had really good flavor. I liked that they have a new menu daily and post it on their Instagram, so there is always something new to try. It is $30 per person for unlimited vegetarian food, and the live pani puri is included. The pani puri was SO good and honestly took me right back to India. Such a fun and nostalgic experience. We had the most incredible dining experience at Sattvic tonight. This place has opened very recently - late December. But the owners aren't new to the industry - they owned Jaipur in West Loop - which was also excellent. After taking a break during Covid, they've returned with this amazing new concept of unlimited (AYCe) thali - prepared fresh daily, using high quality ingredients. We were thoroughly impressed by the variety and the taste. It's also really cool that they have a guy making and serving pani puri at a stand - the quintessential pani puri Bhaiyya in India. Indian restaurants always get dinged for service but the staff here was attentive, quick to offer refills, easy to communicate with, and truly customer experience oriented. The owners were also present themselves and walking to each table to ensure that diners were happy and fulfilled. Their heart was kind, generous and warm - making the whole experience feel like being at a distant relative's wedding event in Mumbai where they personally walk around to deliver top notch hospitality. The menu is posted daily on IG and varies a bit, though following a similar format. I really appreciate the "sattvic" concept which means eating foods that raise your body's natural energy levels or prana. It means eating seasonal, balanced, fresh. Each item we tried was so delicious that I don't know how to pick one or two. The variety was enjoyable too. At $32++ pp, it's so reasonably priced for the value it offers. We had 3 appetizers, 3 kinds of breads, rice and khichdi, 4 daals and Kadhi, 4 entrees of super-soft paneer, alu sabji, karela fry, chana daal, and 2 desserts along with chutneys, salad, papad, achar, chhaas. Ok love this idea!! Vegetarian thali was AMAZING. Tried to it for the first time today and I'm a fan now. Table service at its best. I love that they have a pani puri station. So unlimited pani puri as appetizer. We stand in the line and the person gives us freshly prepared pani puris. It was delicious. The place recently opened and the place is so pretty. Love the vibe and ambiance of this place. The price for the thali is $30 for adults and $15 for kids. They have a nice variety of sweet and savory dishes. They keep coming back for refills . Today we got to try Sattvic. It is located in Elk Grove Village and known for its vegetarian Gujarati food. One word: extraordinary! We went in with high hopes as we only heard great things. It met every expectation. The pani puri station reminded me of my travels to India. What a nostalgic experience! The filling was superb and the pani was filled with the right amount of masala. Then the thali. It was fantastic. The food was delicious and came out fresh and hot. They kept coming around so you didn't need to hunt anyone down. Overall it was delicious and we will be back! My wife and I had an amazing, fantastic experience at Sattvic. We are White Americans who eat Indian food with some regularity. What I didn't realize was that we'd only ever eaten South Indian food. This food from the Gujarati people in Northern India was significantly different from other Indian food we'd eaten and was absolutely delicious. There were flavor combinations I'd never eaten in South Indian restaurants. As someone with a sweet tooth, I enjoyed that many of the dishes were sweet (there were sometimes less sweet, more savory options). In addition, the experience of getting to try at least 10 mostly new foods, all delicious, and being able to eat as much as you'd like of your favorites was delightful. My wife, who is a vegetarian, has rarely had the experience of so many vegetarian options in one meal (it's all vegetarian). Our meal started with our server introducing us to their process of serving food and giving us an overview of what we'd be eating. We began our meal eating an appetizer that was served to us by a server in an indoor street food cart. The remainder of our food was brought to us at our table in courses, a few dishes at a time. Any number of the servers took the time to educate us about what was in the specific dishes, and what food normally went together (e.g. this bread goes with this curry, you put rice in this soup, etc.). And it's only one flat fee of $30 which seemed very reasonable! And there are different dishes every night! I will absolutely come back and I will encourage others to come with me. This place offers an unlimited vegetarian thali specifically North Indian dishes. The service is quick and they also have a live pani puri counter. Just dont stuff yourself with panipuri save some room for amazing thali. Every table had a jug of chaas, some achar and ghee. Hands down some of the best food, service, and hospitality I've experienced in the area. The lite roti is excellent, the gol gappe are honestly the best I've had in Chicagoland, and everything is always fresh and consistent. I've been coming here regularly for the last 4-5 months, and the quality has never disappointed. I truly believe the reason is because the owner is there every single day and genuinely cares. You can tell her and the team work very hard and take pride in what they do. The restaurant is family-owned, very clean, friendly, and has plenty of parking. Very disappointing experience. We were initially told the wait time would be 20 minutes, and after waiting that long, we were again asked to wait another 20 minutes. Meanwhile, groups were continuously being accommodated while tables for 2 were clearly not being prioritized. If the restaurant cannot accommodate smaller groups, they should inform customers upfront instead of wasting their time. The most frustrating part was the response from the reception staff. After waiting nearly 40 minutes, we were casually told, "Sorry, we don't have space for two people." When we said this could have been informed earlier, the response and attitude were extremely cold and rude -- almost a "so what?" kind of reaction, with no concern for the inconvenience caused. Drove over on a snow day excited to try this newly opened spot, but we were turned away at the door because we didn't have a reservation. The confusing part: there's no reservation option on the website (at least none that I could find), so it's not clear how guests are supposed to book. I totally understand being busy, but the communication needs work. Please add a clear reservation link or note walk-in policy/hours so people don't drive out for nothing. read more

First visit was impressive. The place was almost full at 8.30pm which was a good sign. The wait for a table was short and we enjoyed the appetizer offered while waiting. The hostess was very pleasant and welcoming. Our table was lovely and peaceful and the food started to arrive quickly. We had a lovely young man explain some of the dishes to us, which was helpful as we had no idea. I do think some written detail on the offerings would be helpful. The food is very fresh and favorable. The setting is very nice and supports mindful eating. Great parking in a very good position and a very high level of pride in all staff.
