And sometimes it's so perfectly average that it deserves recognition for staying firmly in the middle of the bell curve. That's kind of where Sauce landed for me. The pizza was solid enough for a lunch stop, but it felt like it was missing that extra something that makes you think about it later. Nothing was bad, nothing was wrong, it just lacked a little flavor punch. The prices were reasonable, which is becoming a rare and beautiful thing these days. The service was friendly, and while they do charge extra for ranch, I'll give them credit: they don't hand you a tiny thimble-sized container and call it a day. If you're paying for ranch, you're getting ranch. The ambiance is fine. Clean, casual, and perfectly functional for grabbing lunch. That said, this isn't the kind of place I'd pick for a long dinner catching up with friends or family. It's more of a "I'm hungry, I need food, and I have places to be" kind of restaurant. At the end of the day, you won't be upset that you stopped here. You'll get a decent meal, friendly service, and move on with your day. Will it change your life? No. Will you write home about it? I order from Sauce somewhat regularly. It is super nostalgic for me - I remember going in high school with my family. I think back then they only had the super thin cracker crust. That crispy crust is my favorite thing about Sauce for sure. While it's definitely not the best pizza in AZ (more salt in the dough and seasoning in the sauce pls), it's good and affordable and lighter than a lot of pizzas out there. The caprese bruschetta is also really good and I like the caesar salad a lot. Sauce on Camelback unfortunately usually gets at least one thing wrong about every order I place though. Whether they forget the bread roll or the butter, the ranch that I add to the order, or mess up my pizza toppings, I feel 9/10 times at least one thing is incorrect or missing. The service can also be kinda bad as well - though the staff are kind, if there are a lot of people it takes forever to get to the counter to pick up your to-go order as there's always only one person working the counter no matter how busy it is. If you're trying to grab your online order and run this can be annoying. You cannot beat the prices at Sauce though for wood fired pizza! And if you grew up eating it, it just hits. read more

Went ton sauce and almost every table was dirty and full of dishes. My husband went to ask if anyone could clean off the tables and the woman said they were too busy. They weren't. Have been coming to this location for years and have noticed a steady decline recently. The last 3 take-out orders there was either something missing or food quality was just not what it used to be. This past Friday might be my last time. While waiting for food noticed three food handlers without gloves preparing meals. One cook repeatedly picked up his phone, set it down, and then continued to spread cheese on pizzas with his bare hands. Phones are so germy. Another cook (who was wearing gloves) kept wiping his nose with his gloved hand while working. It was pretty off-putting. To top it off, he grabbed a filthy rag, rinsed it under the tap, and then used it to wipe down the food prep counter instead of sanitizing it. From experience, pastas and salads come with a dinner roll. Their rolls are the best. My favorite thing about Sauce. I placed an order with Uber eats. 1 salad, 1 pasta, 2 paninis. I paid extra for 2 extra rolls. We got 3 bags of chips. No rolls. No salad dressing. I understand the dinner rolls are an "extra" "free" item. But when you charge me for extra rolls I expect to at least gets those. If you choose to honor delivery services conducting business on your behalf. Treat those orders as you would if I were a dine in customer. Lazy staff is my only conclusion. read more

This location is very nice and clean with a fun mural on the outside. There is a small patio if you want to eat outside. This is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Arizona. I was able to try a different Sauce location through a Yelp Elite event earlier this year and the food was delicious. We happened to be in the area and saw Sauce and pulled in for dinner. If you want good fresh Italian food that is quick this is your spot to try out! Masks were required and social distancing was enforced. We felt safe eating here. When you check in for the first time you get a free cookie. Their cookies are fresh and amazing! We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, lasagna, and pizza cookie. We realized once we sat down they didn't get our lasagna order so we went back up and ordered and paid and waited. We got food to go cause we were just going to eat the pizza cookie there. The food was out hot and quick and realized we got pasta instead of our lasagna. The employee was really nice and apologetic and gave us the lasagna and let us keep the pasta as well. The pizza is thin and crispy with plenty of sauce and toppings. It's legit a top 2 fave pizza! The pasta was cooked perfect and had plenty of sauce. The meatballs were so good too! I like it even though it tastes more like rosemary. I will have to start making my strawberry lemonade at home with rosemary. The rosemary makes the lemonade have a unique and stronger flavor.
