I want to start off by saying the hostess was really what made my experience fantastic! I originally wanted to go here for a dating event, but unfortunately it was sold out so I asked the hostess if I could sit around the area the dating event was located at and she asked me if I wanted to sit with them, I opted not to, but it was still a nice gesture. The server gave great recommendations, especially when we were in between different menu items. We were also so grateful that they were able to put certain items of the dish on the side depended upon our preferences. Unfortunately, there was a girl who walked by who was very sick and we had to endure the experience, but management asked if we wanted to be reseated which we appreciated. The food here is always so amazing especially if you're a gluten-free girl the gluten-free noodles pair very well with the pastas in my opinion. The white truffle garlic bread was my favorite dish , so garlicy and the bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, so good. For the pasta, we liked the flavor of both pasta, especially trottole chicken pesto, the pesto was so good! But the only downside of the those two dishes was they were not al dente, the pasta itself was too soft, it should be cooked firm to the bit, offering slight resistance in the center. We visited another time for my husbands birthday. The atmosphere is incredible, the outside patio is beautiful. The servers are so friendly, the food is delish! The pasta is handmade, the sauces are cooked to perfection. They get their bread delivered from a local bakery which is rustic and supportive of our community. If you go, you have got to get the white truffle garlic bread. You're welcome. The bread is so light, airy and still holds an amazing crunch factor. Their truffle butter is whipped and light and so flavorful. My husband loved their bolognese, and their spicy vodka rigatoni was delicious. Our son of course ordered the pepperoni pizza, not on the menu but definitely something they're able to accommodate for kids. The crust on the pizza is so delicious! During our visit, since it was my husband's birthday, we were so pleased to have a dessert delivered to our table with a candle to sing! Maryann was amazing! So friendly and nice to talk to. We have always loved North but I'm so sad they no longer have the original chicken chopped salad with Gorgonzola dressing. Please bring that back. I liked the calories on it as well. The new salad doesn't have that dressing and the calories are much higher. Great Italian food on a Friday night? Check out North Italia! They definitely get busy, so reservations are definitely recommended. This particular location has valet parking, but the lot is pretty small so plan accordingly. Their pizzas are great, their lasagna is really good too. Their tiramisu is also really great! The staff were all really nice. Katja was our lovely tall brunette server and was wonderful. She took great care of us and made some great food suggestions as well. Dined here Sunday afternoon on Father's Day. Valet (unnecessary) and annoying as there's plenty of space to park ourselves. We were greeted by a young lady who doesn't enjoy her job and doesn't like people (I said goodbye to her on our way out and she barely acknowledged me). It wasn't very busy at all so I was super excited as we were hungry! Ordered 2 Tito's Bloody Mary's and a glass of champagne with 3 waters. Instead of bringing us water (107 degrees outside) we waited for him to talk to his coworkers in the far corner of the restaurant for 10 minutes and then stood at the bar talking to the bartender while holding and spitting all over our two drinks while she poured the champagne. We also ordered bread and olive oil which took FOREVER! There were only 4/5 other parties at most in the entire restaurant. We then ordered 3 salads, pasta and pizza. All delicious but super super slow service. Every time this server approached our table he'd talk all over our food, reaching for glasses and plates. It was disappointing. They need to train their servers to not speak while food is in front of them. Come on people. Probably won't revisit this location but the food and location in Washington DC was excellent! read more

I didn't even take a picture but I had the seared scallops with corn risotto and let me say it was a disappointment. The scallops were good but only got 3 on my plate. Then for the risotto it was more like corn and what tasted like peas more so than risotto and probably one of the worst risottos I've tried. The server was good and engaging and helpful. We were celebrating the graduation of a friend who graduated from firefighting Academy and we had a reservation here early in the evening at 5:30 PM. Everyone was very gracious when we arrived and we were seated very quickly. The server was super attentive with drinks and such, and took our orders. It took an extremely long time for our orders to come out, the manager came over and brought us bread and dipping oil to tide us over. When the meals arrived, everything was very tasty, however, two of the meals were served lukewarm at best. The server apologized and she did comp those two meals, but the kids were super hungry and ate it anyway. My husband and I shared a margarita pizza and the salad and both were fabulous. I believe the Parmesan fairy dust. They sprinkle on the crust just makes it taste exceptional, so definitely consider the pizza if you come here. I will say, I found it difficult to find a meal that fit within my health restrictions, if you look at their nutritional PDF, the calorie count is very high as well as high sodium and almost everything. So just be aware of that. The lowest calorie entree on the menu is the Branzino- and how you had an Italian restaurant see you can't expect it to be healthy right? This place is super popular and by the time we were finished at 7:30 PM, the entire entryway was packed with people as well as the valet cars were out into the street. My own personal opinion is that the reason the meals take so long is they have a very healthy Digital ordering program happening and they're doing everything from the same location. There is an entire area right in the front of the dining room that is packed with bags awaiting pick up. It seems if they separated out this business a bit and perhaps had a dedicated team simply working on those orders, the meals in the restaurant could be prioritized. I'm no restaurant expert, but watching it for two hours Really seem to indicate that's part of the problem. It was very rich and very good! The meat was super tender and the risotto was buttery and the snap peas gave a needed texture and brightness. We all had something different and everyone kept bragging how wonderful the food was. I started with the shrimp scampi and they were hugh and so fresh. I ate every bite before I even took a picture it was that great. Then I had the short rib and omg it melted in your mouth. Everyone at the table loved what they had. Then ended dinner with the hazelnut torte. This was the only item that I was not crazy about. The Gelato was almost melted even though we got it on the side. So this is my only complaint. We had a reservation for five on a Monday evening at 6:15 pm and when we arrived the place was very busy with only a couple of empty tables. We were seated immediately and we were able to order drinks and appetizers as well. We ordered bread with "good" olive oil and glazed beets for the table. They were excellent. I ordered the squid ink tonnarelli which was mouth-wateringly wonderful. Last time I ate squid ink pasta was in Venice, Italy. This was much better. We had some very nice wine, Iconoclast cab and finished the meal with bombolini, also an excellent choice. The whole dining experience was a collection of positive superlatives. The parking lot is valet-only but the valets were fast and that made our experience even better. Our waitress/person was knowledgeable and helpful and our food arrived just when it should have done. The restaurant had a trendy feel to it even though there were a number of family groups there. It also looks like a place where a first date is often taken. Stopped in for date night on a Friday night. We made a reservation thankfully! For appetizers we got the mussels and arancini with extra bread on the side for dipping. I loved the arancini but wasn't super impressed with the mussels. We split the pasta which was the strozzapreti we both liked it but would maybe opt to try a different one next time it was good but not to die for. This was my boyfriend's first time to this North Italia location. I liked how open it was and you can see the kitchen from your table, which is nice. It was lively and had good lighting. This was the perfect date night spot. On to the food. I loved the garlic truffle bread, it was so good. I didn't think the truffle was too strong, and the bread was perfectly crisp on the edges. We also had the calamari, which my boyfriend loved. For our entrees I had the chicken parmesan and he had the pig pizza (like a meat lovers). The chicken parm was a huge portion and was very hearty/warm. His pizza was personal sized with a thin and crispy crust. Overall, we had a great time and left very content. We enjoy going for late lunch/ early dinner at North Italia. The menu accommodates our vegetarian diet with many choices, our favorite being the arancini appetizer. It;'s so good! Salads are big, beautiful, and very fresh. The pizza is delicious, as is every pasta dish we've tried. The staff at North Italia is attentive and friendly without being invasive. They know how to allow your meal to progress at a nice pace. When temperatures allow, the patio is a lovely choice. Indoors can be noisy when the place is packed, which it often is.
