I hate to say it, but Cafe Zupas may have finally lost me as a Customer. Despite my last visit being lackluster, I decided to give it another go. Cafe Zupas replied to my previous review citing they hoped they could serve me again. This is likely the last time. I placed an order in their mobile app. When I arrived, not only was the order not ready, but they couldn't be bothered to complete it, so I had to get my own drink. This may not be a big deal for most people, but it is for handicapped persons who use a cane and have only one free hand. I was curious to try two particular menu items ... the limited availability of Strawberries & Cream as well the Chickpea & Vegetable Soup. The desert was lackluster, tasting only like milk poured over strawberries. The least they could do was to remove the green stems from the strawberries. I had to remove some and spit out some others. The Chickpea & Vegetable Soup was about worst thing I've ever had. The app displayed a photo which looked like it had an orange colored broth, making me think it was tomato based. What I received was a cup of broccoli with warm water. This was NOT soup, tomato based or otherwise. Soups are commonly simmered for a period of time. This seemed like warm water was heated for a few seconds in a microwave, then poured over some broccoli. Further, other vegetables were no where to be found. To say it was disappointing would be putting it mildly. I can't imagine how Cafe Zupas would consider serving this to Customers or be proud of this offering. When Cafe Zupas first entered the Phoenix market, the offerings were plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced. Over the years, each of these has changed drastically and is no longer worth my repeated visits.

Went here to try the Dubai shake after hearing about this Dubai chocolate phenomenon I keep seeing. I could see they had cups of strawberries ready. This dish is expensive, $13 for the mini & $19 for the large. The mini was still a good size & From what I understand though, the ingredients aren't cheap. I will say it was delicious, so I'd gladly get the mini again! (Though I'm not sure the worker that made it really cared for the presentation, it def wasn't made with love lol). The low stars comes from the state of the establishment. I couldn't find napkins anywhere. I finally asked the man manning the floor. He was friendly and tending to some maintenance I can't remember. When I found the napkins, I was disturbed by the upkeep of what stood before me. The fountain drinks machine flooded, the floor with soils, trash all over, just poor maintenance of the area. A total opposite from the Gilbert location I was at a couple nights prior. It wasn't even busy, only a couple of tables sat & a couple of people in line. I think I'll avoid this location.

This is a solid lunch spot! I placed an order online for the Mediterranean bowl and the chocolate mousse cake. The entrees always come with a roll and a chocolate dipped strawberry which I love! The bowl had a good variety of flavors and was reasonably priced. I just had to wait a few minutes for my order to be ready. I took my food home to eat but the booths seemed clean and interior is brightly colored.

Nobody cleans up the mess near the dining area.

I've been here a few times and the food is pretty good. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience is not good. First, the ordering process is pretty confusing. Between the salads and bowls and soup, everyone seems to take orders in different places, and there are a bunch of people running around behind the counter. No one seems to know whose food belongs to who. Last visit there, we stood at the register for five minutes with all of our hot food just waiting on someone to check us out and finish giving us the little items like a bread loaf that came with our meal. The main reason for the low score here is that this place is a mess. Tables don't get cleaned up, there's trash everywhere, the condiment area is a disaster, and the beverages always seem to be empty. It's just dirty overall and messy. It's unfortunate because the actual food they're serving is pretty good and reasonably priced.

I just came for the chocolate covered strawberries, so this review is not fully accurate of their entire menu and customer experience! The strawberries were very juicy and perfectly ripe, and the chocolate went very well with it at expected. The girl taking our order was SO nice and was very happy to help us. The crazy thing was just that this one cup of strawberries was $15 before tip!!! I have a hard time recommending it because it is such a high price for such a simple cup. I won't deny the strawberries tasted amazing though!

Love this spot! Variety of options. I come here when I want decently healthy food. Have tried their soup, salad, and protein bowls. Have loved everything so far! Got the Mediterranean Crunch sandwich today which was loadeddd. I love their try 2 combo so I can get a soup/sandwich or soup/salad. Decent portion sizes. Service is always friendly and very fast. Tons of seating inside. Parking can get difficult in busy hours, but I've never had a problem. Their food comes with a bread roll and chocolate covered strawberry how cute!

I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this place out, but so glad I did. The Chicken Enchilada Soup was creamy w/ chunks of chicken, corn & black beans. My order came w/ a white roll - like a super gummy Wonder bread one tho. A little crispy baguette would be awesome instead. Jus' sayin'! Wow on the complementary sweet treat they give you: not a mini cookie but a decadent chocolate-covered strawberry. Yum! Can't wait to go back & try a sandwich & salad combo... Today I chowed down on the generous-sized Half Sandwich (Turkey, Bacon, Avocado) + Salad (Thai Chicken) Combo. Sandwich served warm so cheese was oozey/melty & Salad was full of healthy ingredients like English cucumbers, cherry tomatoes & a peanut dressing was a vinaigrette. Usually this kind of salad comes with a thick, syrupy style dressing. So good...

We continue to be impressed by both the quality and creativity of their food. On this visit, I ordered The Pilgrim, which is essentially Thanksgiving dinner wrapped inside a pasty. It features turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. It arrived absolutely piping hot--seriously, give it a few minutes before taking that first bite--but once it cooled down, it was phenomenal. The combination of flavors was comforting and satisfying, and a little cranberry sauce with each bite provided the perfect balance. My only minor critique would be that the ingredients could have been distributed a bit more evenly throughout the pasty. I also found the gravy slightly more peppery than expected, occasionally overshadowing the stuffing, sweet potatoes, and turkey. Even so, this has become my favorite pasty at Cornish Pasty Co. We also tried the Peppered Steak pasty, which features sirloin, portobello mushrooms, leeks, zucchini, Stilton bleu cheese, and a peppercorn brandy cream sauce. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, especially the steak and the wonderfully flaky crust. For my personal taste, the peppercorn brandy cream sauce was a little more prominent than I prefer, and I found myself wanting more of the steak, mushroom, and Stilton flavors to come through. That's simply a matter of preference, though--it was still a well-executed dish made with quality ingredients. One thing Cornish Pasty Co. consistently gets right is the crust. Every pasty we've had has been flaky, flavorful, and substantial without feeling heavy. This wasn't our first experience with their menu. Over the years we've thoroughly enjoyed the Tikka Masala, the Lamb & Mint (which was a genuine "wow" dish), and the Royale. Those are all excellent choices, but after this visit, The Pilgrim has moved to the top of my personal rankings. Our two pasties came in under $20 each, making for a filling and satisfying meal at a reasonable price. We ordered takeout, and while there was a bit of a wait after we arrived, it's worth noting that these are made-to-order pasties, not fast food. Even though we only ordered a few minutes before arriving, the quality was well worth the extra time. My biggest criticism has nothing to do with the food. While waiting, my wife and I sat inside briefly, and we found the music extremely loud. During our visit, the restaurant was playing Silth, a progressive metalcore band. Musical tastes are obviously subjective, but the combination of the style and volume made conversation difficult for us. My wife eventually decided to wait in the car because it was simply too loud. The restaurant clearly aims for a lively pub atmosphere, with games available and a diverse mix of patrons enjoying themselves, so many people may appreciate that environment. It just wasn't a great fit for us. That said, the food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and we'll absolutely be back. We'll probably continue ordering takeout, but that's a reflection of our personal preferences rather than any issue with the restaurant itself. If you're looking for creative, well-made pasties with high-quality ingredients, Cornish Pasty Co. is definitely worth a visit.

Walked in to a nearly empty restaurant -- just one other customer -- and wasn't greeted. The AC was off with only a few floor fans running, making the space feel suffocating. After waiting 30 minutes for my spring rolls (in an almost empty restaurant), they arrived with no peanut sauce and zero apology from the staff. By this point I was flushed, short of breath, and feeling faint from the heat and poor air circulation. I politely let the male server know I was overheating and felt like I might faint. His response? He told me the AC was on and to "drink more water" -- in a rude, dismissive tone -- then walked away to greet a new customer. I packed up my spring rolls to go and paid without a word. He didn't seem surprised. It felt like this was a pattern he was used to. After leaving I checked other reviews -- long wait times, poor atmosphere, and rude staff are recurring themes. The California rolls were ok, not bad. I would say it's 7/10. The bibimbap was very fresh and delicious but a little pricey ($18.95). The bulgogi was marinated very well and rice was super crispy inside the hot stone bowl. Seafood tofu soup was pretty good and not too overly salty. It was very flavorful and the tofu was very soft.
