The food here is all killer and no filler. They use skirt steak which is my favorite. The chicken is tender and flavorful. They spice the food perfectly and it's not over salted. The sauces are also excellent. They press the tortillas to order, btw. The service is friendly and the ambiance is no frills. It's tough to tell if it's opened or closed by the exterior appearance as you drive by. They could use a little help with letting passers by know they're open because I think most people would enjoy their food. There is a parking lot--they are in a tiny strip mall. The food is excellent. I feel the place could use a little touch up aesthetically to help lure people in and keep them coming back. I say this place is totally worth your time and money. I came to check out this place because of the mySGV Passport. I've driven past this intersection many times, but this restaurant was never very noticeable. Parking is easy since they have a shared parking lot. I ordered two tacos: the lamb taco and the goat taco, and a pineapple Jarritos. The lamb taco came with pinto beans, and I added some hot sauce that the staff gave me. It was tasty and had that classic Mexican flavor. The goat taco, however, was something special. It tasted like Indian goat curry served in a taco shell. It was a surprisingly good fusion food. I really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We finally made it! I've lost count of how many times we've missed dining at Saucy Chick Indi-Mex Eatery just because of poor timing on our part. They close earlier than other places, then additionally closed on Mondays and holidays. But that's all in the past and the wait was worth it! After spending a very warm Sunday morning at the Pasadena Flea Market, we arrived tired and hungry around 1:30pm. Everything on the menu sounded amazingly delicious. Based on our first experience with Goat Mafia at Smorgasburg LA, we had to start with the Masala Goat Burrito and Masala Goat Nachos. Both came out fast and WOW -- generous portions and packed with flavor! Every bite was so, so satisfying. Super clean, bright place with ample seating inside and outside. Was very lucky to be one of their first customers to try out their new coffee selection. The chai latte has an interesting hint of lemongrass and mint to it. Recommend on a hot day! It came with all the sauces and two tortillas, so the combination of flavors never got boring. For sides, I got Mom's Beans (a must have) and corn. As a side note, the corn looked like Mexican elotes in a cup but was Indian flavor forward. Lastly, I also got the steak nachos and it was out of this world too. The service is top notch friendly, helpful, and quick. I have only good things to say. Found this place on yelp and when I saw fusion of Indian and Mexican, I knew we had to try. So happy we did! There is plenty of parking as it's in a 7 eleven plaza. There is outdoor seating with plenty of seats and two indoor tables. The ambiance is colorful with floral table covers. Service was great. They asked if we like spicy and gave us some chili oil. Had a delicious late Sunday lunch here. I got a goat birria bowl ($17.50) and was able to swap out the beans for cauliflower. The bowl is a large portion and comes with 2 homemade tortillas and hot sauce on the side. A large side of cucumbers was a delicious light, contrast to the rich, boneless shredded goat. I would say the menu leans more towards a taqueria than it would an Indian restaurant, but the menu and different items blend flavors and techniques from both cultures and they do it well. It's located in a small strip mall in East Pasadena (I think that's the area) and the space isn't huge, but there are a few tables both on the inside of the place and patio. I came in and was greeted by the owner Marcel. It was an odd hour (between normal lunch and dinner times) so it wasn't super busy and we chatted a bit. I let him know that I've been wanting to try their food since I saw them on an episode of 'Worth It' - which at that time, I think they were more focused on their rotisserie chicken. I ended up ordering a three taco combo and getting a Coke to chase it all down. I ordered the masala birria taco (asked them to add cheese to make it a quesabirria taco), a chicken tinga masala taco, and if I can recall, I believe the third was a skirt steak asada taco. You could taste the Indian spices and seriously the spices blended so well. To me it wasn't surprising, but I was delighted nonetheless. Just a great spot with great folks. I get the pibil chicken since it has the best spices. The chicken is fine, but what really makes this place special are the sauces. You have a creamy yogurt raita, smoky and spicy salsa macha, herby cilantro chutney, and a deeply sweet tamarind. They are so complex and pack a punch when you drizzle a bit of each on soft wrapped taco. The sides are no joke too. I got extra since the Mom's beans are salty cheesy crack. We thought there some were good, some were a little dry, and some had way too much going on. The chicken tinga masala, had a really sweet mango sauce and we thought it would be like julienned mango pieces. It was over kill but still had tons of flavor. We'd probably get it with no mango sauce. The jeera chicken was good, but more basic of the tacos they offered. The barbacoa was a bit dry for us and needed salsa to help it. The one that was most popular Birria, I didn't really get much flavor from, and not like the Birria I am used to. $5.50-6.50 per taco $30 for 4 tacos. The aqua blue building channels a desert-chic vibe that pops against the otherwise industrial block of East Pasadena. Pass by contact paper-covered picnic tables as you walk through the awning-covered patio space to reach the front door. Immediately upon entering, you find yourself face-to-face with a flatscreen displaying the hot pink menu. The cramped, industrial space is made infinitely more lively by its fresh coat of paint. A small merch shelf separates the entrance from the checkout counter, and a narrow linoleum counter wraps around the far windows. No additional music plays, and the chatter level among customers remains respectful. My partner and I visited for late weekend lunch, and Saucy Chick had a steady stream of customers. We ordered quickly, and our meal was prepared within 10 minutes. The taco sampler was the highlight of our meal. The nachos had Jeera rotisserie pulled chicken, para crisps, Mayocoba beans, GG Sauce, Ambli Molasses, crema, roasted peanuts, lime spiced coconut, and mint. It was texturally great. The bad: It's almost too saucy. I think you can get flavor fatigue from how much flavor it packs. The interesting: They sell gift cards online and offer catering. Saucy Chick wasn't really on my radar at first. I was searching for someplace to pick up breakfast after a walk. Upon reading reviews and the concept I decided to check it out. Because I first visited on a Sunday before 10a, the only menu items were breakfast burritos and chilequiles. The regular menu items are not available until 11. No problem, the burritos sounded good so I got the asada burrito and the paneer burrito (yes, I was hungry). Both burritos were made fresh so it took a few minutes to prepare. Asada burrito (4/5) was full of well seasoned meat, potatoes, egg, and beans. Very satisfying and quite substantial. Paneer burrito (4/5) delicious! I actually think I preferred this burrito over the asada. I was also able to visit another weekend for lunch. We had the following: Ambli smoked chicken (4/5) flavorful, tender, perfectly cooked. Especially with the tamarind sauce poured all over. Cauliflower side (3/5) this was ok but just not as flavorful Cucumber side (4/5) unexpectedly interesting and flavorful Birria bowl (4/5) I really liked this dish! It was super flavorful and came with rice and beans. Overall, the food at Saucy Chick is very tasty. I still want to try more of the sides and the other roasted chicken dish. First thing, great owners seemingly. I got that impression overhearing a conversation of them giving some advice and some resources to use for their own business. To sort of preface my palate a bit, my main exposure to Indian cuisine is through Bhanu market down the street and I like to add 1-2 ghost chilis to my meal as a preference so maybe my taste buds are dulled or something. But I found the food here to be quite mild in flavor. I thought all the tacos had good structure and texture but maybe could have been more punchy with seasoning for me. Maybe they had some other sauces I could have used to amp it up but I wanted to try things as presented. Smoked lamb kashmiri barbacoa taco for me was a little dry. Masala birria was moist but nothing particularly stood out. The chicken tinga was my favorite of the three with everything cooked well but personally could have used some more seasoning also. Kinda felt like everything was canceling each other out in a weird way and there wasn't anything for me to hone in on like salt. The horchata was not as sweet as I'm used to which could be a good thing for some folks. They had a mango lassi ice cream which is apparently made specifically for this place by the 626 Ice Cream folks and that was very good. Yes it's Halal (Chicken, Goat, Lamb, Beef) I'm surprised that they don't have more reviews for this Indian-Mex Taco fusion restaurant. I loved all their Red Meat Tacos however the chicken was just okay for my palate. The sides are pretty good and tried most them so far and don't have a favorite yet and whenever I'm in the Pasadena 210 Freeway area this is where I stop to get me some tacos. read more

There is a reason this place is recommended on so many restaurant lists. The rotisserie chicken is both unique and delicious. They have 3 main flavors, and they are all great. The sides and tacos are also very satisfying, especially the goat taco which was super flavorful and juicy. Always drove by this place and told myself I was eventually going to try it and the timing lined up perfectly today. Opened at 11 am and the person at the register was very courteous as well as gave great recommendations. Store front is quite small with limited seating but kept clean. I ordered the 1/4 Pibil Chicken Rotisserie Meal with Kachumber Salad and Roasted Cauliflower as well as a Lamb Birria Taco. I ordered to go and didn't get to the food until about 20-30 minutes later. Food was excellent though! Everything was delicious and felt healthy. The Chicken was extremely tender and juicy, the Kachumber salad was crunchy with what tasted like a yogurt dressing, the Roasted Cauliflower was exactly as described but with a light curry flavor, and the Lamb Birria taco was extremely tender and well seasoned. I highly recommend the chicken but especially that taco. Next time I'll definitely be ordering multiple Tacos or a Burrito. read more
