I called around and everyone gave me the same answer.... until I called Lohmans. They had the part, said they'd get me in and out same-day, and gave me fair price well below the others. I've had experience fixing this part of a car and know how long it takes and how much parts should cost. Lohmans was right in line with market costs. No nickle and diming, just a good quality family owned place. They even gave me a ride to a local restaurant so I didn't have to wait there, and when I returned they had lightly cleaned the outside of my car! Don't be fooled by the shop. Stole a transmission from me. Brought my truck here for a simple transmission swap (I supplied the…read morenew transmission) & lo and behold they "lost" my original transmission. My first mistake was when I came to pickup the truck he waited until I already paid to tell me I would have to come back the next day for the transmission since he was still "draining the fluid". I gave him the benefit of the doubt but the next day he then claimed he didn't know where it was at that moment and asked if I could come back the next day. After that day he quit returning any of my calls. The company that sold me the new transmission required me to send in my old one (for a core charge, a common practice) and since I couldn't they charged me an additional $300 and voided the 30k warranty I purchased. They didn't adjust the shift cable properly on install and it ended up breaking the plastic assembly on my shift cable a week later while I was at work. These guys got lucky I was in the middle of moving out of state when this happened or I would have had the time to stand outside their shop making sure every customer saw the absolute headache they were causing me. If you are the owner of this shop and want me to remove this then "find" my phone number and see if you happen to stumble upon my transmission for me to pick up.

I'd driven past it 1000 times and never took notice of the unassuming exterior and front work yard full of vehicles. Upon entering the shop, I could tell that Dana had been at that location for years (turns out decades). When we met and discussed the job, he was equally as no-nonsense in-person while also being equal parts amicable and witty. I was told by word of mouth & my in laws that this mechanic shop is honest & has good reputation. Incorrect. Took my car in Friday, was charged $930 for a $80 part (5hr labor for a part that should take at most 2hrs) and drove off with more issues that could've caused my car to catch on fire. Was also told I needed new breaks all around which was also incorrect. Total would've had to spend over $3000. Luckily I took it to another shop in which they confirmed my breaks only needed lubricant & will be getting all else fixed that was messed up at richards. Expenses aren't the issue as clearly taking my car to a mechanic l'm ready to pay to get my car fixed. PLEASE find a genuine and honest mechanic because this is not it. Richard, I'm embarrassed your shop has now had this reputation due to the mechanics you have in your shop. Do better.
