This was a pretty neat place in Sausalito. We stopped in because I was craving ice cream after our dinner at Poggio and given the slow service there, we didn't want to have dessert there and opted to check out Sausalito Sweets. I got the cookies & cream ice cream in the waffle cone coated with Oreo pieces. It was super good and their cookies & cream had large chunks of cookies in it and the ice cream was a premium vanilla. Overall I thought it was really good. I would have gotten more things here (fudge, peanut butter cups, etc.) but I felt the ice cream was enough of a diabetes special haha. In all seriousness, they have some really nice looking treats including truffles, the aforementioned fudge, and bulk candy. I would've gone hog wild in here as a kid. read more

A nice sweet treat to end our night! The inside was bright and clean. There were 2 workers (1 at the register and another cleaning) and they were very patient and informative. My sister got the classic milkshake without sprinkles and truly loved it. I was originally planning to get a Boba Tea, but saw they had affogato and got that instead. It was creamy and delicious. Went in for a late night dessert before they closed. I got the classic sundae with no sprinkles. It was simple and sweet, which was what I wanted. My sister got the Affogato with vanilla ice cream. We came to Sausalito Sweets after visiting the Marine Mammal Center. All of us wanted a sweet treat and Sausalito has a fun street full of vendors. We saw Lapperts and was gonna stop by to get an ice cream but my daughter wanted to stop by Sausalito Sweets first. Sausalito Sweets sells gelato and chocolate and she wanted to see the gelato options. Then we walked to Lapperts and she said that she doesn't want ice cream. Sausalito Sweets had a sign for Dole Whip. She said she wanted Dole Whip instead of ice cream, so we went back. The worker there was very nice and she gave us the Dole whip right away. The banana shake ice cream is to die for! Hubs got the coconut pineapple then tasted mine - he had to get back in line to get some and a Salty Sausalito (that was really good too!) to take home. They don't have or do pints to to take home so he had to get a double scoop in a cup - it was pricey at almost $10 but tasted just as good the next day right out of the freezer. This shop is totally cute too! Lots of sweets to choose from, from fudge to Ghirardelli offerings. An employee was making fresh made caramel stir stir stirring the pot the entire time we were there sitting at a table enjoying our order. There was no one in line when we ordered about 2p on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, but a line quickly formed. They didn't get as busy as the other ice cream spot practically across the street but I don't know why. Service was great also. Although across street from a famous ice cream place, the ice creams here were really darn good. Our group got 4 small cups, that were well loaded with ice cream, like a lot loaded. Kudos to the staff for being generous! Service was friendly and quick and patient with us while we decided and translated to friends from out of country. Got golden coffee, coconut-pineapple, mango and rocky road. I tried the coffee and coconut pineapple. Both really nicely done. Sweet enough without being overpowering and creamy enough to know you are eating good quality ice cream. It was a very hot day and there was a lot of people. We decided to just choose one of the ice cream places in the area since we had visitors around. The line is slow and waiting in the blazing sun doesn't really help. I don't know if it is the location or inflation but for a scoop of ice cream is about $6. We got a scoop with chocolate dipped waffle cones. The cones were good but I dont know about the ice cream. It wasn't very good. Is it because it is gluten free? I stopped by because I saw they had milk tea on their menu and I should have continued walking. I should have known that the milk tea wouldn't be that good since it is primarily a chocolate and ice cream place. It wasn't sweet, boba balls were hard in the center, and didn't have a big tea flavor. Service was also poor, I stood at the counter while 4 employees ignored me and continued their conversation. Another employee who was cleaning up had to alert them that they had a customer. I don't think I'd come here again unless I wanted a chocolate item. read more

TLDR: great place to stop by for some ice cream in the Sausalito area. My partner and I stopped by Sausalito Sweets because the other ice cream shops in the area didn't appeal to us very much. Upon entering the store, we were amazed by the wide selection of random candies, chocolates and ice cream. I ended up ordering 2 scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone with the flavors being Chocolate Orange and some sort of shortbread flavor. Both were delicious and the nice Asian lady who served me and my partner seemed to like us because she gave us HUGE scoops. I will say that the service was friendly and we appreciated one of their staff members asking the woman in front of us to put a mask on (she didn't have one on her so the staff member gave her a napkin to cover her mouth). The place has a bunch of dessert options, gifts, and goodies to look at too, but the sundae we ordered left a lot to be desired. We were craving a refreshing sweet treat on a Saturday afternoon and their sundae photos looked so good! They were out of the their Salt Sundae so we opted for their Oreo cookie one and while it tasted fine, it was just not the $10 price point. The photos showed sundaes piled high above the rim, and ours barely surpassed the rim and lacked a lot of ingredients in general. I know they have to pay the crazy downtown Sausalito rent prices, but I'd say that sundae should cost $7 max. It was basically two scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, and one Oreo and cherry on top. I think this is a great option for your kids (and for gifts), but just know that the sundaes are really overpriced. read more

I sampled a few of their ice creams, but ended up going with just a cookies and cream because it was THAT good. This was probably the best cookies and cream I have ever had.
