Well, 2-3 days ago it was hot and I was in the mood for ice cream just like yesterday, but I was in Southern Moran and afternoon a little research I came upon Mill Valley swirl. I drove there and there's a raspberry chocolate chip listed as an ice cream and that just sounded delicious so I went down there to get that unfortunately a lot of other people think it's really delicious too lol so they were out of stock temporarily but I will definitely be going back there to get some of that flavor. I went with mint chocolate chip and it was super creamy great flavor plenty of chips, young gentlemen, probably in high school or college was super friendly from the time I walked in he greeted me and a really nice guy. You know representing the business really well and take care of customers. You know they're a retail food business and so friendliness Incorporated into the customer service is really important so I appreciate that as a new customer of Mill Valley swirl and I wish I had his name and it was like blonde dish brown hair, which can describe many young people in Marin lol but if I've gotten his name, I would mention It but I didn't but do yourself a favor go in there. My friends and I stopped into Mill Valley Swirl after hiking Mount Tamalpais all day, and it was just what we needed. It was a late Sunday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy - just one family and us. They offer both ice cream and self-serve frozen yogurt, but all three of us were in the mood for milkshakes. I initially was going to order the S'mores flavor, but the girl at the counter advised that the milkshake would be hard to drink with all the marshmallow and graham crackers mixed in. I went with the Berry Cheesecake instead, but after trying a taste of the S'mores, I did have some regret. It was still tasty though - just a bit more berry than cheesecake. My friends ordered a Cookies & Cream Milkshake and Dipsea Decadence Milkshake - both delicious. Parking right in front of the store was easy and service was pretty fast. Best fro yo and ice cream shop in Marin. Frozen yogurt is all so creamy and amazing, and the seasonal flavors are always fun. Been coming here for years and the staff are always nice, and the frozen yogurt always hits the spot. Widest variety of toppings for any frozen yogurt shop, and everything is so fresh. Such cute interior design too and such a welcoming, cute vibe. 10/10 recommend this place and it's definitely a must stop by if you are in the area. Never have I ever been to a place that serves both ice cream and frozen yogurt - but Mill Valley Swirl is this kind of rare unicorn that does both and I am here for it. We came in for frozen yogurt and stayed on course even though we were temporarily distracted by the homemade ice cream flavors. Next time! They had one employee serving ice cream, another taking care of the frozen yogurt so you are never waiting long and the frozen yogurt toppings were neatly displayed and fresh, including fresh fruit and the usual sauces. Disturbing experience. One of the workers, Odin, decided to randomly overcharge my son (who is a minor) because he believed that my son had not been charged for a previous visit and order. After researching, we discovered that this wasn't possible. How was this at all acceptable? And now I have to wonder if Swirl does this to other powerless minors. The behavior from this worker was egregious, inexcusable, and totally counter to what I would expect from a family-run local business. We are pausing our regular visits to Swirl. I came here for the first time tonight and never will be back. Two teenagers were running the place. ObNOXiously loud rambling on and on and bitching about random stuff. Super unprofessional and barely acknowledged us as customers. When I asked if I could have a tasting cup I was told "we don't do that any more". When I asked why he just shrugged. That pissed me off. I've been coming to Swirl for at least 6 years now. It used to be my go to fro-yo shop before COVID hit. I've actually visited the shop on a few occasions since then, but hadn't been for months until past Friday. We still can't go on the shop to pick our own fro-yo or toppings, I'm not sure why as I didn't ask. The teen girl taking our order wasn't very welcoming and proceeded to eat her own fro-yo while we were ordering. I have nothing against her having her serving while working though I felt like I was bothering her while trying to order. They have about 6-8 flavors each day and they are usually tasty. They have some sorbet options as well, but only about 2 options. As far as toppings go they usually do a good job having a big variety. I had the burned corn caramel and it was delish! I asked for the hot fudge. Instead, I got this hot runny chocolate syrup that had a weird after taste. Definitely not their usual hot fudge which is rich and delicious. My guess is they swapped the good stuff for a cheaper option. Swirl is not a bad fro-yo spot, but sadly it's not as good as it used to be. Used to be a fan of this place, but since COVID prices have DOUBLED. A small is $7, medium $9 and a large is $12. And that's before toppings which are almost 49 cents each. Pretty insane. Great fro-yo but beyond disappointed in the service we received this afternoon. Our child has a food allergy and when we asked about the ingredients the girl behind the counter rolled her eyes and said "we don't want to have to look up the ingredients" and then gave us the ingredient list after prodding and asked us to move out of the way of the register as "this is a busy place". I've been getting into Frozen Yogurt more this past year and I think this spot is a good choice! In trying to be a bit healthier, I ordered the vanilla with fresh strawberry and mango on top. The froyo itself and the strawberry were both quite good, but I'll admit that I'm taking a point off the review because the mango wasn't up to snuff. It shouldn't have been sold, in my opinion. (It was tough and not sweet) They've got a smooth operation though and served us quickly. I like that they keep the line moving by having people order up front and then walk around to the back to pick up their treat. The whole pick up around the corner is weird and not very convenient but I assume if there was more than just us at the counter ordering then it would be a better social distancing solution. For just us waiting on two small ice cream cups it was awkward and I was really hot and having a hard time breathing (ah the joys of being pregnant) so the walk around the building didn't help. We go for frozen yogurt only. They have ice cream but have never tried it. It's decent for frozen yogurt and I'm glad it exists , as there aren't other great options. They don't have many flavor options but they always have non fat chocolate and low fat vanilla , which is what I usually get. They usually have one or two sherbet options and a couple of other flavors that vary. I think they have 8 flavors usually. Tons of toppings ! Anything you could want pretty much: Fruit, cookies , nuts , chocolate , candies, sauces , etc It's a little pricey but fun and good. Very limited seating inside. there are some benches nearby outside along Miller and we sit there. I'm giving 3 stars bc I've gone to some in other cities that have so many flavors. I like that they have organic, low fat, and no fat yogurt options. This is very unique. The yogurt is also very satisfying and they offer many toppings. My favorite was the toasted coconut, I have never seen a frozen yogurt establishment offer it before. It was amazing! The decor inside is adorable. It was aesthetically pleasing but there wasn't much seating space. My problem is with the staff. I tend to be very friendly when interacting with employees as I know how demanding certain customers are. I walked up to the counter and placed my cup on the scale along with my brothers. I greeted him with a friendly "hello" and a big smile. He did not acknowledge my hello and instead removed my cup off the scale and slammed it on to the counter angrily. I guess they weigh each cup separately? I definitely think he lacked courteousness and manners. The owner definitely has to emphasize customer service in his/her business practice. People typically go out for frozen yogurt to enjoy themselves and have a good time. It's a recreational activity in a way. If your customers are leaving your establishment upset for something they came to enjoy then they will not return. It defeats the whole purpose of going out. Not good! Came here for this first time because we were in Tiboron and this was the closest yogurt place with "Tart" flavor. First note on the weekends especially on nice days getting in and out of Mill Valley is not easy. Parking was hard to find as the streets and local lots were all full. When we get there the place is filled with kids and because the store is small and there is tables in the middle it was a cluster. When we asked for samplers, all the flavors we tried were half melted and the flavor was NOT good. We purchased some because we felt bad just leaving after tasting.
