We went to The Shack to grab some late-night ice cream, and it was such a cute experience! It's a family-owned kind of spot, and you can really feel that cozy, welcoming vibe the moment you walk in. The inside is adorable -- calligraphy, paintings, and drawings all over the walls make it feel creative and homey. The whole place just has a really nice, chill energy. The ice cream itself was fresh and flavorful -- we tried the Horchata and Ube flavors, and both were amazing! You can tell they use good, fresh ingredients. The flavors tasted real, not artificial, which I loved. The staff were super friendly, too. I don't remember the name of the girl who helped us, but she was great -- when we asked how many samples we could try, she said "as many as you want", which was honestly the sweetest thing ever. We got the kids' size, and it was the perfect portion for a late-night treat. I'd definitely recommend The Shack -- great vibes, great service, and even better ice cream! Overall Rating: 5/5 Must Try: Ube & Horchata Ice Cream Vibe: Artsy, cozy, and welcoming

This place just missed the mark for me. I liked the atmosphere and the kiosks, but the ice cream was disappointing. It tasted like Dreyer's and the flavor wasn't strong. I usually love salted caramel and cotton candy ice cream, but neither stood out here. I decided to shake things up and try the cookie sando, which was a bit of a mystery since there were no signs explaining it. It turned out to be ice cream between two Oreos, but there was very little ice cream inside. I liked the games, but they did not work because they required extra payment. The people were nice and the service was fast, but overall the ice cream just wasn't it.

Great place for ice cream. Kids always want to make the drive to come here. So happy this place opened as there aren't enough ice cream places in Marin!

Terrible environment. The customer service is way below par, and the ice cream is NOT worth the prices. Go to Mags.

I thought watercolor would be an easy place to start, but it's actually probably one of the hardest painting mediums (though the easy clean-up does make up for it!). This class taught me the foundation watercolor painting techniques I was looking for to get me started in art again. Hana Buechel was a skilled and engaging instructor. She is friendly, very approachable and encouraging. She is also an exceptional artist. She really helped re-ignite my interest in painting and going to spend the summer putting what she taught me into practice. Hoping to take another class in the fall. Thanks Hana!

Kids put on aprons, choose the texture of the type of slime they want. They have about five different options. Then you picked the color. (Lots of cool options) then you pick the scent, and you get to watch the slime master get your slime mixed all together.. you then head to a table to play with the slime, once you're ready for the mix ins you can pick between glitter, kinetic sand, and a few other options, and then a bottle up your slime. You're welcome to sit and play longer than the 25 to 30 minutes.... Each visit we stayed about a total of 40 minutes, which seemed to be enough for my three year-old. You are welcome to stand and watch you do not have to participate, but it's always nice to take part in creating precious moments and memories with kids. Starting price is about $25... they also have premade slime and some fun seasonal character slime which is a little more expensive. They even have slime kits. You can have a birthday party if you reserve the date in advance.. if I didn't live so far, I would definitely do this with my child and a few other kids. I highly recommend this experience for any age person just as long as you love slime! Me and my toddler will definitely be back in the future.

I went there with my company to do a group project. We had 3 hours to finish. We were given a 4 x 4 clear glass sheet and our project was to use different types of glass to design a picture of a house utilizing different types of glass. At the end of the design, they fired up our glass pieces so that the glass pieces all melt together or how they like to say," Things get Fuzed." The learning curve is really easy. The only difficult part, as a first timer, was trying to figure out how each glass piece react to the heat. It's more science that I thought there would be in an art project. At first glance, working on a 4 x 4 glass piece may seem small, but once I started working with the glue, cutting glass, resetting, glueing and then repeat, all 3 hours went away in a heart beat. This was a real great place to build my team. It also gave me great insight in their personality. Everyone was so detailed oriented and wanted their art piece to be super perfect. So if you're in San Rafael, and are looking for something to do, check this place out.

You can create your own personalized piece of art glass. You assemble the project and they fire it for you. Earrings, special tableware, jewelry, paperweights, all sorts of things. If you can imagine it, you can probably make it. You start with a base of your choosing, then you select from hundreds of types of colored glass pieces and start decorating. When your masterpiece is finished, you give it to them and they melt your glass pieces into your base. BAM ! ! ! Art is returned to you in just a few days.
