Lappert's Ice Cream in Sausalito is a highly popular, family-owned shop famous for its "super-premium" ice cream featuring rich Hawaiian and tropical flavors. Located right on the bustling waterfront shopping district, it is a favorite stop for visitors strolling the boardwalk or resting after biking across the Golden Gate Bridge. They were nice and kind. Small shop and pretty good circulation

It's one of my favorite spots for delicious ice cream, but this time the place was packed, chaotic, and it wasn't clear where the lines for ordering were--I think they need to be better organized. However, the staff was friendly when they served us. The place is small but modern.

fter taking the ferry to Sausalito, we were greeted by classic Bay Area weather--cold, windy, and definitely not what most people would consider ice cream weather. That didn't stop us. We made our way to Lappert's, and after the first few bites, we knew we'd made the right decision. Every flavor we tried was outstanding. Not a single one disappointed. The staff was incredibly patient and kind with our kids as they asked to sample what felt like half the menu before finally making their decisions. They never seemed rushed and made the experience fun for the whole family. Our son loved it so much that he went back for seconds, which might be the strongest review a kid can give. Our daughter and I both ended up with two scoops because choosing just one flavor felt impossible. There's something special about ice cream that's so good you're willing to stand outside in the cold, smiling between bites. Lappert's was one of the highlights of our day in Sausalito and a place we'll make sure to visit every time we're back.

I got the chocolate peanut butter flavor, and the ice cream was decent. The peanut butter came in large chunks, which I wasn't expecting, and they tasted salty for my liking. The ordering process was also disorganized. Staff take your order first, but then you have to get in another line to pay, which creates multiple lines and slows things down.

Service and ice cream options are a lot better than the options across the street. Best part was the service, very friendly and kind. 3 stars because 2 single scoop ice cream cones for $16 is criminal and I'm giving 3 stars so something can be done. But I understand it's an expensive area...

Unfortunately this location didn't have any vegan ice cream options aside from the sorbets (I'm dairy free!) so my mom had this vanilla ice cream! She got one scoop of the no sugar low fat vanilla ice cream with a waffle cone; she described it as creamy but not too heavy! The vanilla is not too sweet - which is huge coming from my Asian mom! The service was quick and the shop was so cute and cozy! There was a line but it moved quickly.

Lappert's Ice Cream is a must visit in Sausalito! They have amazing and unique flavors, and the ice cream is super creamy. The staff were friendly, and the ambience is cute inside. A lot of people stop by Lappert's for a sweet treat while walking along the Sausalito boardwalk. Their scoops are pretty big too, great value and delicious!

UGHHH the cookie monster ice cream is just sooo pretty and delicious - I am craving it! Lappert's Ice Cream is a great ice cream spot around the area. Huge scoops. Delicious ice cream. A very nice way to eat it is by walking around the water - some peace, serenity, and the blue cookie monster.

We ordered the sea salt caramel flavor, and it was huge enough to share. The flavor was so good -- the slight saltiness balanced the rich sweetness of the caramel perfectly. We chose a chocolate almond waffle cone, which we both liked. The ice cream store was very popular, so it was crowded inside. I will definitely come back to try other flavors.

Another ice-cream spot just convenient. We went around 6pm on a saturday after dinner. No lines.

Love this ice cream shop! Hawaiian tropical vibes. Unique and tasty flavors. Great location. Service was fast. Lines can be long, so be patient. You will be rewarded with a delicious treat!

Ice cream with unique flavors and tropical region flavors. The single ice cream scoop is pretty large, with waffle cone, it is $7.55. Afternoon weekend has a short line. Need better organization, maybe an extension of waiting line rope since customers kept bumping into each other to grab the wooden spoons. Employees were trying to guide customers, but no one was listening and the store is quite loud. Ordered a Kauai pie which has coffee, macadamia nuts, coconut shreds. This flavor is not too swee, but does not stand out. The cone was crunchy, I believe they import cone from Italy. Overall, the store is nice. Interesting ice cream flavors, but it tastes like your standard ice cream.

I came here for ice cream one weekend afternoon. There was a line and a crowd when I stopped by. We are able to sample a variety of flavors and they have so many flavors available. They had a lot of ice cream flavors I have not had before, the ice cream was good. Got the guava sorbet which was fine, but the coconut pineapple and the nuku hiva were good.

I ordered the giant cinnamon roll and a large oatmeal cookie to take on the road. Unfortunately, neither lived up to my expectations. As an SF native who's tried a lot of great bakeries, this one just didn't stand out. I really wanted to love it because the setting is so relaxing and beautiful, but the baked goods fell short for me.

There was something indescribable, though, that hinted that they rely on the picturesque views to make up for food that is "good" - but not "great." Let's start on a positive note. You can't beat the view. Our server was well informed about the menu, attentive, and friendly - but unwilling to help too much with the menu selections. "Everything is good" is a bit of a pet peeve of mine but I'm not holding this against the rating of this restaurant as that's pretty server-specific. We started with a half dozen local oysters on the half shell which were actually amazing. Perhaps the most mild tasting oysters I have ever had and served with a champagne mignonette, cocktail sauce, and fresh horseradish - all of which paired nicely. For my main course, I had the petrale sole - a very mild, delicate, Pacific flatfish. While flaky and tender, it did lack flavor and was served with some relatively uninspired accompaniments - a saffron rice and some roasted vegetables which was mostly green beans and celery. One of my friends ordered the paella which he said was "great." Overall very decent experience on par with so many other coastal restaurants that know they can fill the seats with the amazing views alone. I would definitely come back - but would likely order something different... except for the oysters - those were a must to order again!

My siblings and…read moreI wanted to take our mom out on a nice lunch and we were unfortunately met with bland food and poor service. We ordered a burger, the ravioli and the penne. While the ravioli and burger were alright, not bad but not worth the hefty price tag, it was the penne that had us astonished. There was not a hint of salt or seasoning. It was so bland, it tasted like they took the pasta straight out of a boiling pot of water, added a dash of oil, and called it a day. It's unacceptable for a dish charged at $28.95. And perhaps I could have overlooked the expensive mediocre dishes had it not been for the fact that the service was incredibly disappointing. Now I'm not going to say it outright, but when all the tables on every side of yours get checked up on throughout the meal except your own, it starts to feel very deliberate. When we tried to ask for the bill, the waiter nodded their acknowledgement before disappearing for a prolonged period of time. We come to find out he ended up going to a different table to cut a cake. Okay then. We try to flag down a different waiter but no one would even look in our direction nor acknowledge us as they passed by. It was genuinely shocking. We were finally able to get the bill after my brother walked directly up to someone at the bar. I wasn't originally going to leave a review, but the more I thought about it after we left, the more upset I got with the whole ordeal. You can only get away with bad food or bad service. Pick a struggle.
