This is a chocolate store that specializes in European and hard to find chocolate brands while also selling gelato at the back of the shop. Since we were mainly there for the gelato, we tried a couple of the different flavors and ended up going with a scoop of the caramel (delicious) while the honey also checked out their pistachio section to chose a few of the venchi pistachio chocolates. I got a double scoop of gelato in a cup, mint chocolate chip and plain chocolate (both flavors cold, creamy, and delish), as well as "the good chocolate" dark chocolate bar with salted almonds (keto). It's labeled as "zero sugar" though there's still more than 30 grams of carbs per bar. Staff was kind and professional, and provided great service. I have been on a real soft serve kick lately and was thrilled when we randomly stumbled across this place. And not just any soft serve- they have dole whip!! Pineapple and strawberry flavors, available separately or in a delightful swirl. Of course not quite as good as the beloved Disneyland classic, but it comes pretty darn close aside from the texture being a little less smooth/creamy. Very cute chocolate store in Sausalito. Not only do they offer exquisite chocolates from around the world, they also have gelato and hot chocolate. Their assortment of chocolates were beyond my recognition of a normal chocolate bar. Very cute gift ideas. With that being said, imported goods of high quality does have a greater price tag. It's worth it if it's the quality and craftsmanship you're after. As for their gelato, I had to give it a try. The texture was a mix between gelato and regular ice cream. I didn't mind. (+/- $51.00/pound). They were RANCID, tasted like they were made 2+ YEARS ago. Disappointing since Sausalito Gelato and Chocolate served a decent cup of hot chocolate and OK green tea ice cream (reported on the receipt as "Gelato"). Don't know if this is a true reflection on this joint OR on JOHN KELLY chocolates, but none the less they sold a BAD product that after one bite had to dispose of the bag. I love Sausalito, one of my favorite must see spots in San fransisco my family is in town visiting and we went in for icecream. The variety of chocolate and soft serve ice cream pulled us right in. but little did we know the customer service was going to ruin our entire experience and I for one was embarrassed and let down that my family would have to experience this on their first visit to california. The employee working in the afternoon on Saturday the 10th shouldn't work for this business. She was impatience, rude and absolutely a terrible representative of this small business. she seemed annoyed and wanted nothing to do with the business we were bringing in. and I myself who's in the customer industry was so baffled by this I walked out. Mean while my family with their two young children who were excited for the soft serve inspite of how badly they were treated purchased the ice cream reluctantly and couldn't believe just how rude the employee who was supposed to help us were. We had ordered two soft serve mixed ice cream and when we asked if we could swap the ice cream because unfortunately we got the incorrect one she was so pissed rolled her eyes and sighed as if we were bothering her. we offered to pay for the mistake and she showed how impatient she was and wanted nothing more than to get rid of us, there wasn't anyone else waiting so we couldn't understand the rush and why we were being treated poorly. I visited this place in June of 2021 and found the matcha gelato amazing. They also had these mini chocolate truffle bars from LA that were off. the. hook. Death by chocolate, no fooling. The prices aren't low, but they're pretty much in line with restaurants in the area. (I think Lappert's down the street may have lower prices if you're on a budget.) The employees were very friendly and happy to offer suggestions. I see that three customers had a very different experience from mine. It sounds so upsetting, and it doesn't sound like the workers on duty that day handled the issue very well. However -- and I'm writing as another allergic person who has to avoid sumac like the plague and has had bad experiences too -- it is the responsibility of the person with the allergy to make sure any given food is safe to eat. If you have food allergies, you might try Salt & Straw for your frozen treats; they train their employees to ask about food allergies before the scoop even goes into the carton. read more

Not Clean!!! The two teenager workers there were pretty darn lazy about hygiene. They stick their fingers inside the cups to pick them up, they touch the cone when they're scooping ice cream onto the cone. And the girl was putting my cups of ice cream into a to-go tray by picking up the cups with her hand on top....TOUCHING the top of my scoop to her palm and the sides of the scoop to her fingers. Yuck. They're also handling money so extra yuck. And the spoons are in a plastic container that everybody just reaches into. So every customer is touching the spoons. So yuck. tldr: The ice cream was mid and expensive for a single scoop. if you have any peanut allergies, be hyper aware of what you're ordering. or just dont go here when there are two ice cream shops nearby lol.... I ordered a Tiramisu flavored ice cream THINKING there wasn't any peanuts (because the flavor normally doesnt contain nuts???). There wasn't any signs indicating that the flavor contained nuts like most ice cream places. After a few bites, I realized that I was started to have an allergic reaction. This was when I noticed there were macadamia nuts! Luckily I carry my medication on me, but what upsets me more was their employees reaction. I immediately went back to inform them about my allergy attack and they blamed me that I should've asked them if there were any nuts in this ice cream. Again, you wouldn't think tiramisu ice cream would contain nuts?After my friend said, "No, there's usually no nuts in tiramisu."
