When people think of whiskey in Indiana's Brown County, they might think of that other place. (You…read moreknow the one.) But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.

The guy working was so nice and explained everything so we knew what the different whiskey's were. We loved it and I would for sure come back here. We went on a Sunday around lunch and there was no one else there. Very nice to have the place to ourselves!

Some of THE best tasting gin that I've had. I purchased a bottle that day. Delicious. Anything with lemongrass I feel I need. Haha Our bartender was attentive, engaged in convo and was respectful. Took a friend some weeks later to try the gin. She too loved it. And we are now big fans of their coffee liqueur. I will definitely be back.

When you walk in, the place (at least the immediate area you see) has the vibe of more of a cocktail lounge or cozy neighborhood bar. The service was great - I had a great time drinking and hanging with the bartender and other patrons (Casey and James). I had just finished dinner across the way and wasn't ready to head back to my hotel yet (tourist visiting for the weekend). Came here to grab a pour of their whiskey. Ended up ordering the peated bourbon, which I thought was tasty and not overly peated or too strong of peat flavor. What I thought was a quick drink, turned into hanging out with the folks here talking about football mainly. There are TVs here so college football was on as well. Having a drink here and meeting the folks here will be one of my more fond memories of this Indy trip.

We said we had not, so she was great and immediately explained what they have, etc. She was incredibly thorough! She put together a couple flights for us. Two flights was plenty for 3 of us to taste what was available. Really liked the Vodka, Rum, Rhubarb and Clementine. We ordered a few cocktails and they were soooooo good! We had the Pool Noodle, Mango, Don't Pistachio in the Pool, Late Night snack, Old Fashioned and Camillas Cocktail (banana). Have to say the Doritos Infused liquor looks like its radio active (bright neon orange) and not so yummy. The drink was okay (Late Night Snack). The Pool Noodle, Don't Pistachio in the Pool, Old Fashioned and Banana ones were AWESOME. Loved our drinks and the fun service. They don't have food so you are able to Door Dash, Uber Eats or bring your own in. We did order food and ran and grabbed it.

The first time I was here was a Halloween evening. The live music was amazing. The place was packed with locals and good vibes. I've since returned for Trivia Night and brought my dog too. I keep coming back for the "Giggle Water" cocktail which features a house made rhubarb liqueur. It's SO good. They don't serve food but you can bring your own. I've seen people bring in a pizza. Occasionally they have a hot dog truck in the summertime. The bartenders are great and make killer drinks. Cheers!

We both had to work the next day, and after 20 years of concerts there we were not looking forward to an hour-plus "after party" waiting in traffic to get out of the parking area. We found TST totally by accident with a Google search for "shuttle to Ruoff". Essentially they run a fleet of very nice shuttle buses which offer multiple pick-up locations throughout the city. You pay online, then meet the shuttle at the pre-determined spot a few hours prior to the concert's start. We met our driver, Trey at the Broad Ripple Sun King parking lot. He was super friendly and had some tunes playing (radio was also Bluetooth-equipped if we wanted to run out own soundtrack). A cooler of cold bottled water was provided. We waited just a few mins and then were off to the next (last stop) to pick up a few more folks at Blind Owl Brewery. Total on bus was a comfortable 11 people. The ride was quick, we got there with plenty of time to spare (at least an hour), and the best part: the bus parked right near the entrance! Trey had some folding chairs and even games for us to play while some of us waited to go into the venue. Most on the bus chose to sit and chat with each other for a bit. We found out that TST's offers many different shuttle services, from sweet 16 parties to bachelorette events and winery/brewery tours. Trey waited with the bus and after the concert we were whisked right out, past all the sitting cars and back onto I-69. Don't forget to tip your driver before you leave. We were home safely in record time! As far as I'm concerned now, this is the ONLY way to go to a concert at Deer Creek (or anywhere else that requires a decent drive)!

We got picked up downtown at Sunking which means after your beers. I did think we'd get a tour of a brewery but day drinking on a Saturday was great. Ash & Elm has great food options. It was our first time there and we loved it. Who knew cider was so flavorful. The seasonal ciders are a must! Garfield brewery was once an old gas station so the outdoor patio area is pretty neat. They have flights available as well. And kismetic, our last stop was also delicious. They don't offer food but have menus from cluster truck. The coffee beer was my favorite! All places to check out if you haven't been. I will definitely be back to each!
