We visited the Garage for a pre-Valentines date. We started with the Gasket Rings. No pic because they were gone before we realized, thy were very good!! I got the Fastback with fries and an extra side of cottage cheese. Ll delicious. My girlfriend got the Firecracker Rig. Our server offered them as Tacos or a Wrap. She chose a wrap and was not disappointed. Only critique was she thought they could've used more sauce, but were still tasty. Overall the atmosphere was great, but if you get easily over-stimulated it may not be the place for you. Will most likely return and try more items! read more

The food is named after what might be an auto Garage. It's a burger place, lots of fried food, too. Strangely, fried avocado slices. If you're a vegetarian or pescetarian, your selections are limited. There are catfish things and a focaccia with veggie things on it. The onion rings are good, at about $1 per ring. The dessert was good, a blueberry-lemon cake with whipping cream. The service is really really good. They sell a lot of liquor here; we don't drink when we're driving, and we didn't sample it. Many won't be disappointed here. It's not really adventurous. The layout can handle a crowd. Prices are OK. There is music now and then. We saw good live music here, with no cover charge-- a plus. Save the music, we're not compelled to return. Others will like it a lot. It's on the ground floor of a municipal parking garage, so easy parking. read more

The absolute BEST revamp I've seen take place. ALL of the food is new here and the quality is so much better than before. The show stopper is their wing flight which has DUCK wings (the best), hog knuckles and chicken wings with different sauces that work soo well. Also had the smash burger which is so dang good. I'm on the road in Columbus, IN tonight and tomorrow and grabbed dinner from The Garage Pub & Grill. It is a small, local place and has a varied menu of the typical sort of bar/pub fare. I looked at their online menu before I left and decided on their "Garage" nachos. It's a nice evening so I walked down. The staff was friendly, took my order, and I had my nachos minutes after placing the order. Impressive! Anyway, I walked back to the hotel, stopped at the bar to grab a libation and headed back to my room. Garage Nachos You'd think with the name garage, that the nachos would be loaded up with beef, chicken, shrimp as well as anything else you could fit on a plate of nachos. In reality, they are your average, run of the mill nachos. They aren't bad, in fact they are pretty tasty and there is a pile of them. Grilled chicken, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapeños; with sour cream and salsa on the side. The chips were still crunchy, which is usually not the case with carry out nachos. The chips generally get soggy on the trip. Ugh... Overall, I can't fault The Garage Pub & Grill or the Garage Nachos. The nachos did the job. I got full but not overly full. They tasted good. More importantly, it's a local place. I am all about supporting local and am thrilled when the local place shines. The Garage Pub & Grill is worth the trip and I'll try something else the next time I am in town. It's a thumbs up from me! read more

We love the garage pub for live music most nights of the week (maybe every night?) They have a great patio in the summer and allow dogs out there. My favorite is the sweet potato fry wedges. They come with caramel dipping sauce but the best move is an order of house-made ranch. Really order the ranch with anything. It's so good. They should bottle and sell it. Street parking in downtown Columbus is usually easy unless there is an event going on. This is one of our favorite spots as locals and we hope to see you there! read more

So my boss and I have been coming here regularly for a few months now. We sit at the bar and it's usually always empty there during lunchtime. I forget the guys name that works there, but he's super great, he's on top of everything, and he's always cleaning or working when he's not making drinks. All the staff are super friendly. We've tried many different things, but I have to say they have probably the best onion rings in town. We have tried some of their wraps, the tenderloin, many of their soups, and we haven't been disappointed with anything. their service is fast, the ambience is calm, I'm sure it's a party at night, but for a nice lunch, it's perfect! We love this place for its casual, laid-back, neighborhood vibe. It's like a burger joint version of the nearby Gale Street Inn. The burgers and sliders are delicious, and there's an ample selection of beers on draft and cocktails, so we can always find something to try. Prices are crazy reasonable, staff is super chill, crowd is usually fun! Location is conveniently at the foot of 4th Street. If you're with a big group, this place is the most reliable place to meet up in the hood. This place will always have you covered when the rest of the town is too crowded, almost always ample seating. The service is fast, and everyone is always happy! Also a great place to come solo to people watch, they have awesome karaoke nights. Pro Tip - If you're with more than 2 people, start with THE TOOL BOX, appetizer sampler of deep fried goodness galore! My go to place when I'm in Columbus. Open clean and friendly bar restaurant. It's walking distance to the nearby Hotel Indigo and the food and drink prices are far better. I've had all of their salads, most recently the Caesar, but my favorite is the steak. Also had burgers there which are great in their own right. If you get a large salad, you better have brought your appetite! I do think that $6 for a salad shrimp or chicken topping is expensive, especially when it doubles the price of the salad. Love The Garage for both lunch and dinner along with late night drinks. They seem to always have live music or trivia or karaoke nights. I love their wraps the most but their sandwiches and salads are also great. Great patio sitting in the summer to people watch. We actually prefer sitting on the patio when they have live music because it can get a little loud inside. Parking is available on the street and in the parking garage. First, the gentleman that works the front door during lunch needs to get some personality!! He's miserable, neither cordial or friendly, and certainly not helpful!! Watch him interact with customers coming in and he is just, well not the first impression you want for your restaurant. We asked for a table by the windows, he scowls and shrugs his shoulders and seats us...... unbelievable a customer might have a preference to where they sit.. The food is definitely on the high side for what it is. We've been there several times in the last 2 months and overtime we say were not coming back, this time will be the last. the food is just ok, nothing great, nothing horrible. It's always nice to come back home and notice something new and exciting in the city. I met up with a couple of friends at The Garage on two different occasions. First off, I liked how simple the name of the place was. It's basically a bar located right under the newly built parking garage in downtown, hence "The Garage". The service was exceptional and the people who work there are incredibly friendly. The list of alcohol was decent but they were lacking on the craft beers section. I was told the place is owned by the person who ran Cork Liquors so they had every imaginable spirits there. They even have cigars! Crazy! I haven't tried their food yet but my friend ordered a Chicken Quesidilla and he said it tasted like a chicken pot pie? What's that all about? He still ate it regardless... Other than that, the place was spacious and they had some patio seating, which is always nice in the summer time! read more

So before I had rated this place with a 1-star. Now, after only a few weeks of new management I already have to re-rate. This is much more of a bar now... live music, games, staying open late if there is a crowd and a jukebox. It is a much better place all around. They are busy at lunch and have the most outdoor seating in the downtown area. The service is still getting better but still not the best. The bartenders are still great, new management is friendly and actually not only receptive to customer feedback, but also is appreciative of it! I would like to review the food separately from the servers. The food was great. We ordered the house chips with queso & bacon with green onions. Yummm a tad on the spicy side. I had the mushroom Swiss burger & fries (no bun). My wife had the bbq bacon cheese burger & fries. The burgers were thick & juicy but I'm not a fan of fries with seasoning on them already. Otherwise the food was great. Our waitress however was slower than slow and not friendly at all. She was almost rude and ignored us for quite awhile. Probably won't be able to get my wife to go here again even though I loved the food. read more

My family visited this place for almost a decade and almost never had bad service. Since new ownership has taken over, it's gone completely downhill. I could talk about the severely reduced menu, lower food quality, or lack of good entertainment, but it really comes down to incredibly bad service. Waitresses and waiters are completely inattentive and rude. There are still a few good ones that are primarily only there on weekends, but the rest treat you more like a nuisance than a customer. I really hope they try to turn things around, because this place used to be a go-to restaurant for our family and friends for such a long time. In the meantime, we'll be sticking to 4th Street. read more
