The menu is expansive for food and drinks. My coworker and I visited for dinner on a weeknight, and it was a great spot to catch up. We enjoyed the burnt orange old fashioned as well as Woodford Double Oaked. For my meal I chose fish and chips. Not bad, but not a standout either. The pieces of fish were long and thin, and I prefer crispier, thicker fish. I didn't eat it with the provided bread and think the flavor would've gotten lost if I had. Service was friendly and helpful in suggesting dinner selections; however, it was also extremely slow. We weren't on a schedule tonight but if you are, you might be mindful of when to flag down your person to order or for the check. 4th Street feels like a more upscale but local, divey restaurant and bar. Casual environment overall. Parking available on the street in downtown Columbus.

Love the food!! The service was excellent and didn't ever wait for anything. The menu had a huge selection and if you cannot find something...you're not hungry...lol. I ordered the 4th st. burger and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wife ordered the tenderloin and it was in the top #5 of Indiana tenderloins she has ever had. Parking right off the street or just 1/2 a block away a parking lot that is free after 5pm. If you're in the Columbus downtown area, this is a great place to have a bite and booze to enjoy the good weather days.

I was in Columbus for work and was told that 4th street was one of the best places in town. I stopped in and although I wasn't impressed, I will say they make some good food. The exterior sends out a different vibe then the interior. When I walked up, there were people sitting outside and enjoying themselves. Seemed like a nice relaxing atmosphere. However when I went inside, the feeling in the place was just off. They were nice I guess, but there was a thread of sarcasm in their personalities. It hard to explain but I wasn't completely comfortable. The interior felt more like a dive bar, while the exterior had more of a pulse. Let's call it a dead man walking. But enough of that let's talk food. I got the pickle fries to start. They were excellent. Fried well and the pickles still had the snap that you would be looking for. They came with a little sauce on the side which complimented the pickles well. I also had the 4th street burger for an entree. That was delicious as well. The burger was cooked perfectly and the flavors were all there. To be honest, that is a burger to hang your hat on. So bravo to the cook. All in all 4th street makes good food and is worth checking out. Maybe everyone was having a off day so I won't say it's nothing worth it. Just don't expect much in the service department. Get in, get some good food, and get the steppin.

Great food and service! Kristen was a great server. Dessert made by the owner and brought our beers. Been here a few times. Never disappointed!

The 4th Street Bar & Grill is exactly what you would expect from a popular well established small town bar. Located in downtown Columbus, 4th Street Bar was packed with locals and out of towners. Our party consisted of folks from Brownstown, Shelbyville, and Martinsville. The service was outstanding with our server quick, knowledgeable and the kind of friendly you would expect in a small town bar. We found out why the place was so busy! The food is great! Now, it's nothing fancy nor anything you haven't heard of, but the taste of a common burger, wrap, salmon brought smiles to our faces. Entertainment started at 7:00pm and wasn't overwhelmingly loud. A great place to meet with friends, enjoy cocktails, have a great meal and be able to visit for hours. I recommend you try it while in Columbus, or use it as a destination midway for friends in other communities.

So when Gayle, Shauna, and I were looking for a place for Lunch (after listening to darling granddaughter play cello in her school's orchestra at the local high school), I immediately gravitated to the front door. The others were not so sure, but I managed to talk then into it. The interior is a bit dark (as expected) and relatively small, with tables on both side of the center bar. There's a couple TVs and at the time I enjoyed watching Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) play in the NCAA Women's tournament. Service was friendly, albeit a little slow at times, but we had time and I enjoyed hanging out. And unlike Grandpa Rowan back then, no one was calling the bar asking my whereabouts. Unlike the Milwaukee of old, they weren't serving yellow beer, but rather really good craft brew. 2 of us went for Jack the Bum, while the other chose Diesel Oil Stout. I went full Midwest and ordered a Pork Tenderloin sandwich, which was huge and delicious. Gayle and Shauna enjoyed their beer and salads (BBQ Chicken and Salmon), starting out with Kraut Balls for the table. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Columbus Indiana, but Powerhouse is on my list.

They had a couple beers on tap - the Love Nugget and the Pink Houses were the ones I tried. Love Nugget is a nice hoppy pale ale, and Pink Houses is a hibiscus wheat. The hibiscus flavor isn't too sweet or overwhelming, which I like. Combining the two makes a very tasty summer beverage. The guys that work at the brewery are friendly and will takl to you about the brewing process and the hops they have growing outside. Pints are $5, and they had a flatbread pizza truck out for the First Friday show. There's a small indoor tap room and a patio with limited seating, so bring a chair or something if you're going for music.

Matter of fact I'm not sure if I want to go back. We were sat in an almost empty restaurant but that was most likely because of time of day (around 2). Our waitress though took awhile to come greet us. She took our orders and to start off on a wrong foot our 2 cocktails and WATERS took over 10 minutes to come out. I know this because I had a text I had sent and being aggravated I went back and looked at the time when I sent it . Later on our appetizers came out. It was about 20ish minutes after our order went in. Then our food came about 5 minutes after that giving us little room left on the table. I know it was an almost 45 minute wait to get everything. I ordered the blackened chicken which was amazing my first visit a couple months previously but this time it was dry and definitely blackened .... AKA burnt! The manager was checking on the other tables she had with an additional waitress running around so I assume our waitress wasn't the only one taking care of them (4 as seen in picture actually) and when he popped by to ask how everything was he took my plate to remake it. 15ish MORE minutes go by and I asked the waitress if she could check on my food and she said 'well chicken takes a while to cook'. In disbelief I jokingly said I can make it faster at home so please just get mine to-go since my parents were already done and had been done for awhile. We got to-go boxes for their leftovers and my food came out shortly after . We received $ 40 off without asking so I appreciated getting something for 1 1/2 hours waiting in a nearly empty restaurant and no meal. I went home and when I went to heat up my food AGAIN the chicken was charred and extremely dry. I ate the sweet corn farrotto which was atleast good and trashed the chicken. Since it was now dinner time I made my own meal With the time and overall poorly done meal(s?) I had I think I'll avoid it happening again by just going elsewhere. It's a shame because we went here with a party of 8 previously and they did so good. We were honestly thinking this would be our spot for special occasions after that but it's likely not worth it since the manager and chef left us hanging and yet again served something subpar. I'd of hoped they make absolutely sure my simple chicken dish was correct the second time around I didn't take a pictures of food we got unfortunately. Our appetizers looked and tasted good but they were eaten quickly because we were starving by the time they came out around 3 so no time for those pictures either. I was then too busy sending my food back and eating appetizers. Once my chicken came out togo we all just wanted out of there! Then once I got home I was too aggravated and gave up any reason to go get my phone I suppose. Why bother? They didn't bother to make it right after all except to give us some $ off but I still wasted my time that day and again when I got home making my own food . The manager will definitely remember this disaster though

We ordered 3 tenderloin sandwiches and two fish and chips lunches. Lunch was underwhelming. The meat on the sandwiches wasn't dry or tough, but, there was no seasoning to speak of and therefore, pretty tasteless. Salt, ketchup, pickles, hot sauce, these were the condiments used by those three diners to give their sandwiches some flavor. Sad. The fish and chips were good. The fish needs salt, which is a whole lot better than being overly salty. And the fries were well salted and very good. The beer selection is good and all the beer drinkers enjoyed their drinks. Service was excellent and we enjoyed meeting our server. Nice young man who was friendly and pleasant.

It started out awkward because the menu still said "spring" at the last of the dog days of July and several beverages on the menu were "we're out". Then the "Elderberry Fizz" drink had not one fizzy bubble! We asked and they said that despite the name, the drink is flat. Huh? The Taxman beer was nice and the carbonation was just right. On to the food ... happy to find that the grilled cheese which is on local sourdough bread and stuffed with a nice amount of spinach could be ordered without bell peppers. It came with choice of side and she chose "Indiana mustard potato salad". Since she is from Indiana thought it funny that which part was "Indiana". I ordered the fish tacos small plate. The chef came out in person to make sure that fresh ahi grade tuna was ok (!) because so many people assume that tacos would have fried fish. He also guaranteed that not a bell pepper would be in site. We were sitting outside on their extensive patio and the beautiful food came out. We could not believe our luck. The $10 tacos were gorgeous and delicious, a bit spicy. The grilled cheese was more than the ordinary. The potato salad was quite good and a little sweet. If we lived in Columbus we would want to know about this great deal - a nice different meal for a Friday night or something.
