What dragged it down from a 5 to a 4 was my coffee wasn't made as requested and when they brought over my meal to my table, they didn't being utensils, much less condiments or napkins. I met a couple of friends there a couple of weeks ago for brunch. I ordered the Rise and Shine breakfast with fruit instead of bacon. The scrambled eggs were dry. Almost rubbery. The toast was perfect. The fruit was cut up in small pieces and served in a large cup. I emptied the cup on my plate to see the fruit better. The strawberries were spoiled and mushy. The apple pieces had brown spots and 25% of the blueberries were squishy. The scone and hot Chai tea were delicious. I was not too happy because you include the tip when you pay in advance for your food order at the counter. You expect that the restaurant will, in good faith, provide properly cooked and fresh food. If you are thinking about going to savage goods the answer is always yes. This place is the freaking best. I'm obsessed with their raspberry oat bar but all the pastries are to die for. If you love deliciousness you will love savage goods. The shop itself is great inside. They could use some more seating but that's literally only because they are so good and always packed. They have a great give one get one book section, some cute retail, and even local coffee beans for purchase. The tables right behind the cashier are a little odd because they can end up surrounded by a line, so just know that if you sit there. The only bad or downside of savage is the crappy parking lot. It's near impossible to park at savage on the weekends unless you're there at open. Again - get the oat bar read more

I can't say one bad thing about this place. The food is exceptional, the customer service is excellent, and all around great place! My husband and I LOVE the burritos. Today was my first day trying out Savage Goods and let me tell you amazing! And I don't think that word is even good enough to say the least. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted promptly and felt very welcome. Spectacular service! The dining area is a bit small but the food well worth it. Even taking it to go I'd recommend. I ordered the melon matcha latte and lavender lemonade just because I couldn't choose and let me tell both drinks did not disappoint. Upon entering, I felt the chill air conditioning and millennial vibes that are slowly taking over Dallas and Austin. From the aesthetic interior decors to the fresh flowers, and to the wooden tables, Savage Goods definitely satisfies that craving for the modern coffee shop, soothing aesthetic atmosphere, and local foods. ALL THAT & VEGAN PASTRIES? The FOOD: Lemon Poppyseed Scone: SCONE OF TITANIC PROPORTIONS A little bit of lemon and butter can go a long way. But in the case of this scone, a lot of lemon and butter took this scone to another dimension. Each bite was light and flaky, like a titanic-sized wedge of lemon shortbread. The poppyseeds gave it a subtle earthy taste, a complex addition to the classic treat. My only concern was the dryness of the scone and how everytime I picked it up, it would start flaking and break off (-1 star). Overall, definitely tasteworthy, but texture-wise, you can see how gluten-free changes a great deal. Cold Brew Donut: DUAL THREAT MORNING PICK-ME-UP Why have your donut and coffee separately when you can have it together! This time-saving treat is not only efficient, but also a delicious way to jump start your morning. With the tinge of coffee flavor combined with sweet glaze, you can taste that it is sweet enough without putting you into a sugar-induced coma. Peanut Butter Cookie: MORE PEANUT BUTTER THAN YOU CAN FATHOM, BABY! You cannot go wrong with peanut butter cookies as they have the rich and sweet peanut flavor. Each bite fills your mouth and takes it over with sweet peanuty goodness. Texture-wise it was not as soft and chewy as I wanted, but nonetheless the flavor was there. Latte: BITTERSWEET SUNSHINE Definitely a latte with a strong personality with a dominating coffee flavor like a dark roast. This latte was not going to let the milk dilute its flavor and is perfect for those seeking a latte and not a milky cappuccino. A great pick me up to cut the sweetness of the pastries; basically a match-made in heaven. The cup is hot like El Paso, but it should not stop you from enjoying it amidst the air-condition cooled café. The VERDICT: HUMAN FRIENDLY COFFEE SHOP WITH VEGAN & NON-VEGAN OPTIONS FOR ALL Vegans rejoice because this one is FOR YOU! The pastries are an affordable delight that does not compromise on flavor. Texture-wise they are much better than other pastries that I have tried. What stood out to me were the Cold Brew Donut which contained your coffee and sugar in a handheld delight. Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie changed my perception of vegan cookies and packed the decadence that I had been searching through the ends of the Earth for. The Lemon Poppyseed Scone had the flavor I sought, but the texture was flaky to the point where it would crumble at touch: I enjoy the feeling of power at my fingertips, but not when the lives of pastries are involved. Other than that, the Latte is a perfect way to balance out the sweetness of those pastries and enjoy the full Dallas/Austin aesthetic in El Paso. I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place. I've been here a few times and it's okay. The baked goods are frankly a hit or miss, the going record for me has been 1/3 so far. I had gotten a raspberry filled donut I LOVED, a cinnamon roll that was dry and eh (couldn't even finish it), and something else that was so unimpressive I can't even remember what it was. The coffee has been pretty great so far but I'm not really impressed with their lunch selection. Oh they have beer and I'm pretty sure wine! Delicious! I didn't know that I had to order online before I went there, but I ordered from my phone in the parking lot, and my burger was made quickly! I got the southwest burger and it was so good! So flavorful, I know this place is known for its vegan options, and they had a vegan option for the burger too, but I got meat. The employees were so kind, I was taking the burger home, so they recommended that I order the potato chips as a side so the box didn't get too sweaty, and it worked! When it was open for seating, SG is my second office. I got a LOT of work done here; the environment is chill, friendly, and modern without feeling cold. I love it. But the food and people make this place great. All their baked goods are delicious, but I'm a sucker for their coffee donut, the best donut in El Paso (coming from Boston, EPTX doesn't have a lot of great donuts). Still, this donut would hold its own in any city. Coffee from Picacho is excellent. And I've tried different entrees all solid and satisfying (favorite is veggie sandwich). But what tips this place over the top are the employees. Friendly, kind,thoughtful. I go to places like this as a means to build and support community. Everyone here is a rockstar. Update: the new cafe savage foods opened is absolutely fantastic. This is an amazing space to work remotely in with a fantastic ambiance and great service. The carrot soup is delicious and as always their gluten free items are so good you'd swear they aren't gluten free. I hope as they expand and grow as a company that we see even more item variety (ideally grain free, refined sugar free options) but this is my new favorite spot in El Paso and I'm so excited to watch this company grow. My only other wish is that they'd have a few more options that are not coffee (matcha, kombucha, some more variety in decaf teas) but overall it's a wonderful business from wonderful people offering options for a seriously underserved group of plant based and gluten free folks in the El Paso area. read more

Yelp reviews had me expecting an amazing lunch and this was not the case. I was very disappointed with my entire meal but luckly, not with the service. My order was a Roasted Chicken Sandwich on sourdough, I wasn't expecting sourdough toast.. I also didn't expect the chicken to look like it came out of a can. Could barely eat half of it. I was imagining something similar to Panera or Corner Bakery. I wanted to try their pastries so I ordered a chocolate doughnut that again, left a lot to be desired. Even though it was covered in chocolate, it somehow lacked flavor. Staff is wonderful and the place is very cute. The cashier was very helpful and on top of everything. I don't know if there was a manager in but I never saw staff check in on tables.
