Awesome little shop in a great location. The layout is great, with the bar on the left and the booths to the right and enough for everything in between. I had a veggie sandwich with chips. It was pretty ridiculous. I ordered the tofu sandwich, which where the tofu was ridiculously hard. Also; only one slice of tomato was used for the whole sandwich. ONE slice of tomato for the entire sandwich was beyond ridiculous. Especially when you're paying $32 for two sandwiches not including a drink nor beer. I had the pleasure of trying some pastries from Savage Goods recently, and let me tell you, the name says it all-- they were savagely good! I tried pieces of a blueberry muffin, a strawberry (?) Danish looking thing, and some sort of delicious pumpkin bread. All the items were just fantastic. Moist, flavorful, not overpoweringly sweet... just how I like my baked goods! Only down side is that it looks like they're only open on Saturdays... I want them to be open every day! And also deliver... right to my house!! Oh well, I suppose you can't have it all. My first time eating at Savage Goods. I ordered the rustic salad with roasted chicken. The chicken was very tasty & thoroughly enjoyable. Every piece of greens was crisp & fresh. There were no rejects in my salad. This is the first time in a very long time where I have found the chicken not a pre-cooked packaged flavor. So many places disappoint for such a simple item but I enjoyed this salad to the last bite. read more

Stopped by Saturday to buy some doughnuts. I wanted a cake donut with chocolate icing. I thought the one I saw on the web page was a cake doughnut. It was not. It was fried and to top it off, the icing was a mess. It got all over the wrapping paper not to mention my hands. Savage Goods needs to work on their icing recipes. Maybe a little more corn syrup will stabilize the icing and make it firmer so it sticks to the pastry and not everything else. Thought this place had more experience with their baked goods. Am really surprised to see so many 5 star ratings. Not sure where that is coming from. It's good to have friends. Improve your bakery goods and you might have a chance. There is a lot of competition out there. read more

I'm not vegan, but my goodness...their vegan desserts are DELICIOUS. The donuts are soft and moist and their giant chocolate chip cookies are moist and chewy as well. I can tell that Savage Goods puts effort in their pastries because of the taste. I will be coming here for their sweets. read more

Savage goods is a vegan haven for anyone looking for pastries such donuts, cinnamon rolls or cookies. They are very reasonably priced at $1 a donut. I've also had the tofu scramble and that was delicious as well. They are very fast and nice. If I could I would buy pastries here all the time. If I had to be picky about something it would how small the parking lot is. Thankfully I've never gone where it's packed but if the day does come I'd expect difficulty in finding parking. I love this place so much! The space is really nice and welcoming, with a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors and hip decor. Everything I've had here has been excellent, especially the cold brew, breakfast burritos, and rustic salad. This is an awesome spot for vegetarians - the eggrizo (vegetarian, made with soyrizo) and savage scramble (vegan, made with tofu and vegan cheese) are both incredible, and the vegan chipotle cheese that you can get with the rustic salad is delicious as well. The baked goods are also great, especially the jelly doughnuts. Can't get enough of this place, just wish they were open longer hours on the weekends! read more

Loved this place! My family was visiting from Seattle so good coffee and vegan food was a must for us. These guys make some of the best vegan pastries we've ever had. The blueberry vanilla raised donut was out of this world. The marinated tofu sandwich also deserves a shoutout. So good!! The coffee was on par with what we'd get in Seattle or Portland. Friendly service and fair prices. We went here 4x in just 3 days! Next time we'll have to stay for a glass of wine or local micro brew. read more

The coffee and baked goods are excellent. The sandwich I had (BLRT) and the breakfast burrito were lacking. It was a bacon egg burrito with three tiny pieces of bacon (literally none) and the BLRT was not OK but two lonely strips of bacon total and one tiny slice of roasted tomato on each half- not enough bacon or tomato to make the taste test. The aioli mayo was non esistant. It seemed like chef in both cases had no idea how to proportion ingredients or was even conscious of what he was doing. Kind of like a community college grad who had no experience with food. Disappointing. I want this place to work but cannot go here again for breakfast or lunch until they get a chef that cares about taste and what a sandwich should be. PS - the baker is excellent. read more

I have a dairy allergy that makes eating out, especially for breakfast, overwhelming and hard. Savage Goods has changed that for me! Their donuts are amazing! I don't feel like I'm missing out on yummy baked goods finally! With a dairy allergy I often have to eat Vegan which can be a little frustrating because I love meat (but I love you too vegans! ). One of the best parts about ordering from Savage is that nearly every item has an option to make it dairy free but not vegan, like their burritos! So good! The staff is super knowledgeable about their products and menu items and they are so patient when I ask questions. The way that they have online ordering set up is so easy and user friendly! The cherry on top is that my picky toddler even loves them! He begs for their almond butter and jelly sammies and donuts and I don't blame him! It's a huge relief to have a place my whole family can enjoy without fear of an allergy reaction for me! We love Savage! read more

Was there for an hour or so and not once did the manager asked if we were doing ok when she went around to other tables multiple times. Kinder to white upper class costumers. Not Sunset Heights friendly just over priced low quality pastries at high end prices. They have deceiving marketing hide their prices and don't give you your receipt -you have to ask for it. Their cream cheese is more like cream store bought frosting and so are the pastries. Don't recommend nor would I ever go back again. Who charges $2.75 for a simple pastry w hard frosting and $4 drinks?? Savage. read more

I came to visit from California for my mom's birthday and was so excited to eat vegan treats on her special day in Texas. I googled the address to Savage Goods and upon arrival I was surprised it was in a neighborhood with no sign of The restaurant. After this, I went on Facebook looked up the address listed there and drove another ten minutes to that address, again in a neighborhood. I also called all the numbers listed and no answer. I just want to say this is a buisness and whoever is in charge needs to treat as such, very disappointed. read more
