First time here. Mixed experience. Let me lead with the bad news: Two coffees, a cinnamon roll, and two breakfast entrees: $60! Yikes! That's a lot for breakfast! I had the 'El Fuego Skillet" and I don't often say this: The crema on that thing is a total flavor BOMB! So tasty! I could have eaten more of it, but there wasn't a lot of it. (See photo) The skillet claimed to have both chorizo and pork sausage, but unless the kitchen forgot it, it was well-hidden. Lots and lots of tater tots, and they were cooked to perfection: Crispy outside; pillowy and steamy inside. Yum! My dining partner had the Savage Starter: Ham, Eggs and Toast. She wasn't impressed. In response to, "How is it?" I got a "Bleh. It's ok." But the star of the show was def the cinnamon roll. The icing was perfect: Not too much cream cheese, not too sweet. The cinnamon wasn't in your face. And it was baked perfectly. So, yeah, I'd go back for that alone! The wait staff were awesome and just the way I like it: There when you need 'em, invisible when you don't. Overall, three stars. My skillet was 5 stars, but I'm deducting for the skimpy crema, chorizo, and sausage. Her plate wasn't great; we could have done much better at home. We'll probably come back for the cinnamon roll, and the wait staff. But $60 for what we got wasn't exactly a bargain.

    Best breakfast in Cape area.

Being in a different state, I reached out to Brine to coordinate a reservation and purchase a gift card to ensure they were taken care of. They were extremely helpful with making sure it all went smoothly, which made me eager to try the restaurant for myself when I visited this year. Within minutes of stepping through their doors and taking a seat, I knew Brine was going to become one of my new favorites. The staff are all super attentive and really take the time to get to know their guests. It was so nice to hear wait staff greeting their regulars by name, celebrating birthdays with them and talking about important milestones as if they were part of their family. The food completely blew me out of the water - the ingredients fresh and packed with flavor. My family's favorite appetizer is the Brooklyn Style Wings - maybe because we are from Brooklyn, but the wings are addicting with the flavors of sausage, peppers, and a vinegary sauce. The burger was the most surprising of them all, with big flavor and smokiness infused into every bite of meat. Oysters were clean, fish was fresh, and the homemade chips had the perfect crunch. I'm so glad I discovered Brine, but now am so disappointed that I don't live in Sarasota full time to be able to dine here more often. This was definitely one of the best meals of my visit, and I will continuously recommend to everyone!

Scrambled eggs were prepared properly and potatoes were good even though he does not like peppers. My crab Benedict was very good and I enjoyed the potato side. Mimosa flight was just okay, lacking flavor. Could not easily tell which flavor was which but at least it was not all juice and little champagne. We had been wanting to try it and glad we did.

Dave suggested…read morethat we head out to Matlacha and Pine Island and have a late breakfast at the Pine Island Getaway Cafe. Great idea! We love supporting our local community as it is still recovering from Hurricane Ian. We crossed the bridge towards St. James City and towards the Cafe. It was bustling and it looks like a lot of snow birds have found this hidden gem. Everything is homemade and baked there. We ordered our usual- Scrambled eggs piled high on a Croissant with bacon and cheese. A delicious crispy concoction that keeps us coming back! Not to mention the fresh ground coffee and the little patio outside overlooking a peaceful lake. We ate our sandwiches outside in the cool beautiful breezy weather. The sandwich is so yummy and you need a fork and knife to cut through the delicate croissant. Then off we go to our favorite little Publix on Pine Island to grocery shop. A lovely way to begin our day!
