I can't recommend Capt. Willy enough. I booked him for my bachelorette trip and HAD THE BEST TIME. Even though my marriage didn't last & we went two years ago, me and all my bridesmaids still cannot stop talking about how much fun we had our trip with Captain Willy and his crew. He was so accommodating! The day before and the day of, rain was predicted, and he ensured that my bachelorette trip was nothing more than phenomenal. He made sure, even if there was rain, that we would have a boat that was covered. We truly had the best to the point that we didn't want it to end and wished we could've had more time. If you are considering booking anything with him, you absolutely should, whether it's fishing trip, a bachelorette trip or just a boat ride on the sunset, he makes sure that you truly enjoy the time. He is extremely knowledgeable in the area and I look forward to booking the next fishing trip. Warning: Do not book with The Savannah Cruise Company, the negligent and untrained crew operating the boat directly caused a boating accident during our cruise. The resulting collision between the boat and a private dock (dock was destroyed) was seconds away from resulting in serious injuries or worse to multiple people in our party. There is certainly an insurance claim underway (owners of the dock were present when the collision occurred/police were called to the scene), though TBD whether or not the boat actually had up to date insurance. My friends and I were visiting Savannah for the weekend and booked the early afternoon boat cruise. The boat had 2 floating Lily Pads that the crew encouraged us to use while the boat was anchored in the water. The current in the river/tidal area where we were anchored strengthened noticeably, and the ropes securing the Lily Pads to the boat snapped, sending 10+ of my friends floating down the river. One of my friends and I had just recently returned to the boat before this happened, so we had a good view of the crew's response to the situation (described in additional detail below, which was extremely poor/dangerous). It is unclear whether we were supposed to be swimming in this area at all, because we heard the captain swear under his breadth when a police boat appeared while this was all going down. There was significant room to operate the boat (few other boats in the area) and time to recover our floating friends (significant distance between where we were anchored and private docks on the bank), but the captain and first mate were incredibly inept and lackadaisical in their response. Once they finally got the boat moving, they drove alongside our friends floating on the lily pads and cut the engine. The boat was then being swept along by the current. The crew was able to recover one of our 10+ friends in the water, but made no other moves to correct course, provide instructions, or turn the boat back on despite plenty of time to do so. As we neared the dock, I expected there would be some instructions or direction provided (i.e., tell people to swim to the dock and turn the boat back on to avoid colliding with the dock). The crew made no such effort - neither captain or first mate made an attempt to restart the boat, and we crashed into the dock. The people in the water were trapped between the large boat and the dock and had to literally swim for their lives to avoid being crushed between the two. The boat destroyed the dock, breaking one of its large support beams and knocking it off its moorings. The splintered dock and scrambling swim to safety resulted in mostly minor scratches/scrapes, though one of our friends had to go to the emergency room given the dock poles were covered in shellfish which present a risk of serious infection. Thankfully everyone was a strong swimmer in our group, otherwise there would certainly have been more serious injuries. During this time, I have no idea what our captain was doing/what his plan was. He completely disappeared when we needed instruction/someone to take action. I felt bad for the first mate because it was her 3rd day on the job, she was also asking the captain for instruction (including asking which way to turn the steering wheel once boat was restarted after we hit the dock), but was not receiving any verbal responses. In my mind there are 3 potential options as to how the captain could possibly have gotten us into this situation (multiple of these could also be true at the same time): 1) captain was intoxicated or using drugs (my guess would be the later because he did not appear intoxicated, but I also didn't think I needed to evaluate the sobriety of the crew before beginning on the cruise), 2) captain was not experienced at operating a boat of this size, 3) captain was purposely negligent for reason unknown to me. For your own safety, please book elsewhere. If you do decide to book with this Company, absolutely DO NOT get into the water. Picture included below is before the disaster happened. read more

What a group of my family and friends had hoped would be a fun feature of a bachelor party weekend in Savannah turned into a nightmare on the water that put every passenger at risk of serious bodily injury - or worse. Unless you're willing and able, in the event of emergency, to take control of a 45-foot, several ton boat (because in our experience, the captain and staff won't), or fend for yourself in the Savannah River, I'd recommend booking a river cruise with another company. We booked a 3-hour "Anchor and Swim" cruise and were encouraged to swim and float behind the boat on two floating mats that were attached to the rear of the boat by tethers. When those tethers snapped, we were sent adrift into the river's current. Our crew's reaction was significantly delayed, and when they finally managed to turn the boat around to "rescue" us, they drove the several-ton boat directly into us, pinned our group of about 16 against a nearby dock, and continued to ram the boat directly into the dock with us in between. If our group members hadn't scrambled, swam, or climbed out of the way in seconds, I fear things could have turned out much, much worse than the minor injuries several members of our group sustained. After the marine patrol had to rescue the scattered members of our group and we were brought safely to dry land, we were assured by the captain that we'd receive a refund. Instead, the company's owner, Heather, and her staff have completely ignored any of our requests to even discuss the matter. Our calls, emails, and voicemails have gone unanswered. The failure to appropriately respond to an emergency situation and lack of accountability, responsiveness, and care in the aftermath is concerning and frightening. read more

We had a group book with this company and while at first it looked like a good deal, it turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. The crew isn't well trained and actually created a dangerous experience for the entire group. After reaching out for explanations and adjudicate the injuries they caused (they slammed the boat into a residents dock), they blocked us. They have an investigation underway on them due to property damage caused by their negligence and a legal law suit pending. Complete lack of accountability. I strongly recommend not booking with them and hope the lawsuit shuts them down so they don't hurt anyone else. read more

The Savannah Cruise Company is dangerous and fails to meet any safety standards. I would caution anyone to book them. I booked a 3 hour anchor and swim cruise in May 2024. The booking and communication up to the cruise was great, as was the start of our cruise. A 30-second safety overview was given which consisted of the captain asking if there were any weak swimmers. We cruised up the river, dropped anchor, and two large flat floats were let off the back of the boat (Magnolia, a several ton boat with a hull 8-10 feet above the water), secured to the boat by ropes. We were encouraged to enjoy the water. All 16 of our party members spent an hour on the floats without issue, albeit there being a strong current. With no inciting event, both ropes securing the floats to the boat snapped and 14 of the 16 party members began to float away from the Magnolia. Nobody panicked, assuming our crew would be able to get us down river without issue. After we floated for about 200 yards, the boat turned around and headed for us, to our relief. However, relief turned to panic when the boat was driven directly into our group. We were able to push off the hull of the boat without injury, however we had to scream to the captain to cut his engine as he drove past/through the group without rescuing anybody, as the propeller was approaching. He did cut the engine, but during this time both our party and the boat began floating towards the river bank and docks. We began to yell to the crew that we were headed towards a dock, with our party between the boat and the dock. We asked for direction multiple times and received none. The boat then collided with a homeowner's dock (while they were on it), with half of our party between the large boat and the dock. Thankfully the party members in immediate danger were able to get onto the dock just before impact, but many of us sustained cuts from this impact and the getting onto the dock, as there was a lot of splintered wood that resulted. The remainder of our party was still holding onto one of the floats and were alongside the boat, at which point a single life preserver tube was thrown to a group of 7 adults. We all did hold onto the tube, however the boat began to drift towards the next dock. I calmly but loudly called out several times to the captain and first mate asking for direction. We again received no advice or direction. One of our party members then came to the side and told us to let go and swim to the dock, as the crew seemed to be frozen in panic. We swam to the dock and safety, and our party was retrieved from 3 separate docks by the marine patrol and brought back to the boat. Once back on the boat, we saw that the first mate had been reduced to tears during this ordeal. In total, 5-6 members of our party sustained injuries that drew blood, one of which required a trip to the emergency room. Once on shore, we had a conversation with the captain and first mate, informing them how serious that situation was, with the very real potential for fatality on multiple occasions. I let the staff know that we did not want to pursue any legal action, however also did not intend to pay for a cruise that resulted in multiple injuries. The captain and first mate both agreed that a full refund would be more than fair to the company, and gave me Captain Heather's (the Savannah Cruise Company owner) contact information to finalize the refund. Following the weekend, I called and spoke with Heather to ask how she could make the situation right. She informed me that she was not in the office, was unable to discuss the matter, and would call back. With no return call the next 3 days, I called back and found that my number had been blocked. I and my lawyer sent multiple emails with no response. Over 3 weeks since this incident, we have yet to hear from Heather, who still has the full fee paid. We wanted to resolve this without posting online, but feel forced to let the public know that when booking Savannah Cruise Company, you can't rely on them to keep you or your loved ones safe. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Our experience on this cruise completely ruined my brother's bachelor party. Their untrained crew and lack of safety protocols nearly caused the serious injury or death of the passengers on our cruise. Their equipment malfunctioned, sending us passengers down the current hanging onto two floating rafts. We repeatedly asked the crew directly for instructions on how to save ourselves and get back on the boat, but the crew did not provide ANY direction or help. The captain ended up crashing the boat into a dock, with several of the passengers stuck in between the boat and said dock. This caused several minor injuries. The fact that no one was seriously injured is a miracle. Despite this traumatic experience, and despite being assured that we would receive a refund by the captain, the owner of the cruise company is now refusing to provide that refund, and is even refusing to answer our calls. I STRONGLY advise against booking this cruise company. read more

Took a sunset cruise for a birthday party and had an incredible time. Captain Heather is awesome! The Magnolia has a super cute/comfortable cabin (with a restroom - very important) and plenty of deck space for dancing! I would definitely recommend this charter for family fun (pricing is SUPER fair), but if you want a unique party experience for birthdays, bachelorette, or other celebration, there's absolutely no one better.
