Our afternoon of fun was given to us by Eric and Patrick of Dolphin tours. What I liked about this excursion was their knowledge of the area and friendly comedy. This was more than a see the dolphins experience, it was also a tour of the waterways and history of Savannah and the Tybee Island area. Our guides knew exactly where to go to find the dolphins and we saw literally close to a hundred. They gave us information about dolphins and it was so cool to see them up close and personal. This was a fun afternoon excursion on Tybee Island--we did the dolphin afternoon tour. We were sad the Coco's Shack was closed that day, because we thought we could eat there before going on the tour. Oh well. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! He wasn't sure if we would see dolphins bc of the weather, but we saw a TON! He also added in interesting facts and injected humor into the tour. This tour was amazing! From start to finish, it was fun, informative, and it left you wanting to go back out! We were on the 3:30 tour today. I believe Mike was driving the bait and our guide was awesome! He was down to earth, funny, comforting to everyone on the boat, and made sure everyone had a great time! The water was choppy today but that actually made the trip better. My advice is go to the front and stand up for better viewing. It's the best seat in the house! Captain Mike's dolphin tour is great! Husband and I took the hour long day tour. There were maybe 12 others on the same tour, which allowed us to have plenty of space of the boat. The ride it self is not fast, so we were allowed to walk around and have a nice view of everything. The crew were friendly and gave us a nice tour of the area along with some fun facts about Savannah and Tybee. There is a restaurant right next to the dock, which is nice to eat at before or after the tour. The overall price was very affordable and definitely worth it! read more

100% recommend the sunset dolphin tour! Great tour guides, we saw a lot of dolphins and very up close. They took us to the most beautiful scenery to see dolphins and the sunset, lighthouses, etc. Food and drinks are welcome on the boat; we grabbed a to go drink from the bar/restaurant at the dock. Drinks are also sold on the boat. If you tend to get seasick grab the motion sickness bracelets from a drugstore before you go due to the waves and wake. Have cash or venmo/cash app for tipping too - it's deserved! Can't wait to go back! read more

We had an amazing time on this trip out today! Captain Terrell and First Mate Scott aka Santa were awesome. I was so nervous because it was my 1st boat ride but I got on and Scotts jokes settled me right on in. I was Rose from the Titanic before we shoved off! They were very professional but had me laughing the whole time with the corny dad jokes! We saw at least 7 pods out plus Adam Sandler and Sandra Bullocks homes. We even saw a shrimp boat Tokyo Drift sideways into the dock because it was too wide. I can't wait to do it again! I'm driving next time LOL read more

Our party of six reserved 30 days in advance. Last weekend no one shows up for our 11:30 tour. We did not receive a cancellation email. No one was there to inform us. Didn't hear from them until 72 hours afterwards. Still no refund received. There were 30 plus folks out there. Poor customer service. Poor business management. If you're uncomfortable around children ages 10ish and under, you might not enjoy this tour. That being said, we boarded a passenger boat that had a canopy. Instead of rows of seats, the seating went around the boat's perimeter. It looked like wherever you sat, you had a good view. We saw a couple of lighthouses, some pelicans, and 1 or 2 dolphins. We barely saw them because they jumped in and out of the water so quickly. If you're under the impression that you'll take cool videos of dolphins, think again. They're that fast. The tour was narrated. What we didn't see in dolphins was made up for by the local history presented. It was a nice boat ride. It's worth it if you don't expect to see dolphins. read more

Tybee has so many dolphins! We were lucky enough on our tour to not just see dolphins, but to find them in a playful mood, jumping in the wake of a container ship. Truly amazing. I've been on Captain Derek's tour, as well. There's no way you can go wrong, regardless of which you go with. There are pros & cons to both. Captain Mike's yellow boats are covered, so you & your family are protected from the sun. That's nice in 90 degree weather! But the boat was so loud that it was difficult to hear the guide at times. The guide didn't talk much, though. You're on a dolphin cruise, so I guess it's okay that the guide mostly just points out where the dolphins are (by the way, they're everywhere!). Captain Derek's tour was far more educational, with the guide giving information not only about dolphins, but about the lighthouses along the water, the celebrity houses you pass, other wildlife...and they have a mastodon tooth. So, if you just want to see dolphins and if being shaded along the way is important to you, go with Mike's. You'll get exactly what you want. I recommend the sunset tour. If you're a bit nerdier (like me) and want a tour guide that talks your ear off about anything & everything Tybee, go with Derek's. Either way, you're in for a treat. read more

Do not book this tour, it's a scam. Went on 9/17/22 and waited for an hour for anyone to show up. There were about 30 of us. Come to find out that they are having issues and don't always show up for tours. I booked the tour on 9/16 and paid and did receive a receipt. But when I called on 9/17 no answer. Decided to try a dolphin cruise and Capt. Mike was the one we chose. Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge people person. Especially when it comes to toursty places. Pushy people irritate me and parents that do not control their children really irritate me. That being said... The crew did an awesome job in not only telling us about the large number of dolphins we were fortunate in seeing but also telling us interesting things about Tybee in general. We were very close to the dolphins on numerous occasions and the kids couldn't have been happier. So thank you Capt Mike for a wonderful dolphin experience. Now for the FYI...you are on a boat with a fair amount of folks. There were probably 20-25 people on the boat altogether. Only half of the boat is shaded with an area to sit. If you are not fortunate enough to get one of those spots you will be standing in the sun for at least an hour so bring plenty of water and the sunscreen. It would be nice if people would remember their manners and save some seats for elderly folks or people that could benefit from a seat but we all know that it's long past those days. Also, you are not guaranteed to see dolphins. These animals do not punch a time clock so they show up if they feel like it. Luckily there was a shrimp boat rolling up nets so there were several hanging around that boat as well as it obliviously being an active day for them because we saw plenty. I would not recommend this for small children. And by small I mean 2 and under. Three babies brought on this trip cried the entire time and "little Timmy" simply didn't want to stay in his seat. Not much for little ones to see if the dolphins aren't jumping. read more
