We ordered take out. The line to dine in was out the door at 6:00 0n Friday night. Fortunately they have a drive up for picking up food and our order was ready. We live about 15 minutes from the restaurant and the food was acceptable as far as temperature. We had the salmon with broccoli, and two orders of fish tacos. All were well prepared and tasted great. They have a large menu, so there will be plenty of other things to try. We will definitely be ordering from there again. read more

Reminder about service dog etiquette and ADA rules I want to share something that happened today because it was a personal violation and a reminder of how important it is for businesses to understand ADA rules. I stopped at Brett's Casual American with my service dog, Stormy. The server was excellent -- respectful, professional, and even asked before petting her. He mentioned he used to foster Dobermans growing up, and he clearly understood how to behave around a working dog. The issue was with the owner. He demanded to see "papers," insisted Stormy needed a vest with a visible ID tag, and told me I was "harassing his staff," even though the staff had been nothing but kind. For anyone who doesn't know: under the ADA, businesses cannot require documentation, certification, or specific gear. They can only ask two questions: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability What task the dog is trained to perform What crossed the line for me was when he reached out and touched Stormy without permission. I walked out immediately. Touching a working service dog is not only inappropriate -- it interferes with medical equipment and puts the handler at risk. It felt like a personal violation, not just a misunderstanding. Most people in Athens are great about this, and I really appreciated the server who handled everything correctly. I'm sharing this so neighbors are aware of the proper etiquette and to help prevent situations like this in the future. read more

Love this neighborhood joint! They're buffalo sauce is the best I've had anywhere in the whole US! I am a buffalo connoisseur and it's out of this world. They have great ranch that is made in house. Prices are always great and they have wonderful owners that always check in with you during the meals! Is a little off the beaten path and tucked in a shopping center. I have eaten there a dozen times . When the owner is there it's great. The last three visits were very disappointing. Food was very bad. Soup was cold baked potato was cold and stale. Been wanting to come here and finally did Doesn't look like nothing special but clearly by the amount of people that frequent is telling. As you come in there's a giant menu on the wall or you can grab a physical menu. You order and pay before getting a # and sitting yourself. Staff is very attentive. We ordered the artichoke dip and Asian chicken salad. Both were delicious. The salad has crispy chicken pieces and has plenty of cashews, cheese, wonton crisps, tangerine pieces, and comes with a little cheese biscuit. Lovely family restaurant. Been here a couple of times. I like the variety of the menu. The food is very approachable and down to earth -- no unfamiliar preparations or exotic ingredients. They have a good mix of healthy options (grilled fish or chicken, salads, vegetables) and fun foods (burgers, nachos). Portion sizes are good. Service is beyond friendly. We got checked on multiple times, even though we were sitting out on the patio, which in my experience often becomes the land of the forgotten. I think it was one of the owners who came out to see how we were and offer a garlic aioli to go with my fish. It was a great accompaniment to the dish. I really loved Brett's and I'm glad we stumbled upon it. The food was really delicious and they had so many things to choose from. You order at the front and pay and then they bring the food to your table. The staff were friendly and they checked on us a couple of times while we ate. We had fried cheese bits, a Buffalo chicken quesadilla, and tomato bisque soup. All of it was amazing. It's nice for a little order and eat place. I can understand why people say the service isn't great because it was teenagers working but they kept the place clean and checked on us so I had no issues. read more

We are in town for business and went here today for lunch on the recommendation from a co-worker in the area. The customer service was AMAZING. Customer service is a lost art in most industries these days, but NOT at Brett's. We were greeted promptly and placed our order. Brett's wife personally stopped by our table and visited with us multiple times throughout our visit. The food was amazing as well. I had the Shroom Burger, it was cooked to perfection with an awesome flavor. If I ever come back to Athens, I will definitely come back to eat here. read more

This is the second time we have eaten here and enjoyed this visit better than our first time. They have an extensive menu that is posted on the wall as you enter. Everything is grouped by type of food so that helps but the menu can be a little overwhelming, especially if someone is waiting to order behind you. We ordered the BLT with potato wedges, and chicken and spinach quesadilla. The BLT on a multigrain slice of bread was delicious. The sandwich came with a nice serving of bacon. The wedges with a ranch dipping sauce was also tasty. My wife enjoyed her quesadilla. The servers were friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. read more

Another one of my favorite American restaurants in Athens. The monte Cristo is my favorite grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had and is always one of my go to items. The team is always super friendly and goes above and beyond what is expected for them.
