Tried the Frozen Lemonade with Strawberries. It's made with lemon sorbet and milk, so more of a milk shake. Sugered strawberry added to bottom of cup. It tastes good. Creamy lemon. However it is too thick for the skinny paper straws they offer. The chunk strawberries are especially difficult to pull through the straw. I asked for a larger straw and they dont offer any. read more

Who doesn't love Ben & Jerry's? I loved the whole experience, and as a huge fan of ice cream, loved this whole place!! They were so nice and patient with me trying to figure out which flavor to get. The only thing that took me by surprise was the price. For both of these ice creams with dipped cones was around $20!! As much as it was good, I think it may have been slightly overpriced. This place is just tired and kind of boring. Since another spot moved in downtown they have deals but all they do is ice cream. If you're visiting Athens or a student here you HAVE to try this Ben & Jerry's location. It's right downtown and is really delicious. My absolute favorite is the one pictured, Cinn-DOUGH-rella. It is very delicious and a mix between cinnamon, shortbread and other delicious flavors. I had a small cup, which was a bit overpriced. Truly a sad state of affairs. I remember when the first one opened when I was in High School. Damn I'm old. I do love a good B&J cone - their flavors are delicious and the ice cream is rich and creamy. I had a hard time making a decision, though. I went to the first case and learned that not only did it contain the nutty flavors, but also the flavors that were produced in a nutty facility. B&J has taken allergen control to a whole new level - they keep the barrels of ice cream separate in the shop. Color me impressed. So I couldn't have the Bourbon ice cream I wanted after all (a limited release flavor). So I didn't go for my usual favorites - Cherry Garcia or Superfudge Brownie. Nope, I decided on grabbing the other limited release - Empower Mint. This is peppermint ice cream with fudge brownie and fudge swirls. Yum! I opted for a small in a sugar cone - we'd technically already had dessert. Don't judge me, we were on vacation and a foodie tour at that. They have four small metal tables and chairs (2 each) in the place, so we sat and enjoyed our ice cream inside (since it was 95 outside). It's good to know some things never change and B&J's still makes quality ice cream and their scoop shops are still a delight when you find one. read more

I'm always amazed by what has not been reviewed in Athens - one would think that a college town like this would have more of the young folk on Yelp, right? So, first off, this place gets a major plus for being one of the few Ben and Jerry scoop shops in Georgia (there are 7 in the state and 5 of those are either at the airport or Six Flags). Whomever thought to put this one in the middle of the downtown area serving some 30,000 college students was a marketing genius. Also, the service is pretty good. Everyone loves the ice cream, it's B&J. Standard stuff here - but the guy behind the counter was also great. This was perhaps worst Ben & Jerry's I have been to. They were out of milk, vanilla ice cream, and more when I was ordering. I was disappointed as I wanted a vanilla milkshake, but I got a hot fudge sundae with Oreo ice cream instead of the typical vanilla for $6.50+. I was not a fan of it as I think I could have gotten more ice cream and a better flavor for less at a McDonalds or a Sonic. Over half the cup was whip cream and the actual sundae tasted worse than what non-ice cream stores would serve. Wasn't worth the trip and expense. read more
