A group of people and I decided to go here. It's been years since I had tried it. Several people got pizza and all said they really enjoyed it. I appreciate they have thin crust and not just the deep dish because deep dish is not my cup of tea. I decided just to do the all you could eat salad bar. However, it was interesting that you fill out a piece of paper and they make the salad for you. I liked that they made it very pretty and it was unlimited. But because we were a large group it was difficult to get the waiter to come back around and if we wanted another salad, it got a little complicated with having to constantly flag Someone down to help us. Also trying to get refills was challenging. They weren't that busy and yes, we were a large group of 16 people, but I still felt like the waiter should've been more attentive and should've helped us more. Stopped in for a pregame lunch as our boys are playing in Tulsa for a high school summer tournament.. our party of 4 met the best hostess in town! She was managing the floor by herself as the lunch rush had settled down & she made us all feel like we were the only ones in the building. Ordered salads for the table & she made them exactly as requested! Appetizer sampler was on point -- rib tips are a must! This was my first time here but my husband had been a few times and loved it so we went for lunch. My husband ordered a 9 inch Chicago Slaughterhouse and I had the Mostaccioli and Meatballs with the meat sauce (which is the Mom's sauce, their house made marinara with meat in it). It comes with a house salad and breadsticks. The house salad is a nice size with good toppings for a house salad. Our waitress was the bartender and she was very nice and polite. I hope Savastano's was happy to lose out on a $300 table. We typically love Savastano's pizza, but our experience tonight was so terrible that we left. The front wait staff was completely inept and rude and we were told that the manager, Morgan, was too busy to take our call. We had a large party of 11 (this includes 3 young kids and a baby). We called ahead which they don't do so we adjusted our plans and decided to come later in the evening after 7pm when it wasn't too busy. 4 of us adults were there and asked to be seated. I guess Savastano's thinks they're still in Chicago because we couldn't be seated unless exactly half of our party was in the building? This is a stupid policy. We sat in the front waiting for our daughter and grandchildren to arrive despite there being plenty of open seats. This was an annoyance and we would've understood except again this wasn't a super busy time of day and the rest of our party was on the way there. Secondly, we asked if we could go ahead and order a deep dish pizza since they take longer so when we were finally allowed to sit and everyone arrived then we could go ahead and have food for the kids. They said they don't allow this anymore even though we've done this in the past. Finally, we asked to speak to the manager and he couldn't be bothered to speak with us. When our party finally arrived they gave us a table on the third floor where we couldn't take the baby stroller so we asked to move to the second floor and they were quite unhappy with this request and scrambled trying to figure out what to do with such a simple request. Of course again there were plenty of tables on the second floor that we could have used. The front staff also told us that we would need to get the rest of our party who went ahead upstairs back down to the second floor for us to be seated on that floor? At this point we decided it would probably be best to go somewhere else. The manager finally came over to the front and talked only to the staff while we sat close by and never apologized. We said we would just go somewhere else and he said "okay, bye". So we went to hideaway who was more than happy to seat us right away and had exceptional service spending over $300 there. I wrote this not to bash Savastano's but to simply help the owners be aware that terrible policies and service cost them customers tonight and we likely will not dine in again. read more

Four of us dined here around 8:30 Friday night. We went upstairs and the dining room was busy but not packed. Our server was right with us for our drink order and checked in often. We started with the mushrooms and the rib tips. We really weren't sure what the rib tips would be, thinking they might be more like burnt ends. They were literal rib tips and the meat was tender and falling off the bones. Good flavor and an interesting appetizer for a pizza place. We also ordered the mushrooms and they were average. We again went with the Sears Tower. Our server told us the wait wouldn't be as long for this behemoth because the kitchen wasn't too busy. We weren't in a hurry anyway. It came out in about thirty minutes. The pie is always good and I like the sauce on top with just a little sweetness. I mentioned to our group that this pizza would be better without all the cheese. This is the Best tasting pizza I've ever had, no exaggeration. I went with 3 family members and for starters, we ordered fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fried ravioli and mozzarella sticks... Meh. It's just not what it used to be. We waited nearly an hour for one pizza and a hot dog. Opted out of the endless salad bar after discovering that they make it for you "sushi style" where you mark what you want on a little piece of paper they give you as opposed to making it yourself. Apparently this is something they switched to after covid, ok cool whatever, but change the menu, or at the very least, have your server explain that when ordering. I got the salad bar several items weren't good but the worst was the hooch pineapple it was completely fermented apparently I'm the only one who can taste or smell I told them so they changed it so kids weren't getting drunk also you fill out an order for the salad bar so you don't get whatever you want of an item I forced myself to finish it because it was $10 The deep dish was disappointing we won't be returning it's gone down in quality and their employees need to be checking if the food is still good not just date dots. Our server was fantastic no complaints with the service , it was busy today versus any other time I've gone. I really love Savastano's. I usually go for CONRAD HILTON HOTEL specialty pizza. The small goes for $14. The Crust. Perfectly cooked with that little hint of yeast and pizza dough taste we all love. The Sauce. Very tasty. Perfect pizza sauce. I've only had the marinara, but I'm curious to try their white sauce. The Toppings. This great combination of Canadian bacon and pineapple tidbits is very tasty. The Cheese. Stringing, warm and melty mozzarella! One of my favorite pizza cheeses out there in Oklahoma. Savastano's is really hit and miss. There are times I'm there and think, "this is the best pizza I've ever had!" and other times I think, "why am I here?" It's a pretty good deep dish pizza overall. Lots of cheese. They overdo the green peppers so proceed with caution if they come on your pizza. I don't like how they prepare your salads for you - I wish I could just make my own at the salad bar. There is always room for pizza! Deep dish may be polarizing for some, but our family loves it. We've been many times, and are always glad when we visit. This pizza is best enjoyed right out of the oven, at the restaurant. The flavor is great, and these pies are not small. Don't let the diameter fool you, after a few slices, you're gonna get full! The salad bar is great (they bring it to you) and don't forget to check out their lunch specials! My kids love the Sears Tower (pepperoni and cheese) but I prefer the Landfill (combination). They are all fantastic! The ambience at Savastano's is excellent! Chicago skyline, Windy City paraphernalia all around, and they love decorating for all the different holidays.
