Visited on Thursday after graduation...outstanding service to our large group! Our server was attentive and patient with us. Food came out fresh hot and delicious!

Empire Slice House came highly recommended by many. An iconic pizzeria in the Arts District, it's spacious with quirky murals on the walls. The staff are friendly and walk you through their extensive pizza and beer menu. You can order whole pizzas or by the slice. They rotate the slices you can buy, but always have three- cheese, pepperoni, and Notorious P.I.G. (aka meat lover's). I got all three. To be honest, I thought the pizza is average, but their "pink sauce" is so good. It's very loose, but tasty! For that, four stars!

Perfect location next to Cain's. We were able to grab a slice after an event. It was mostly great. Some of my piece had too strong of a burnt taste. Price is a little high IMO as well but overall a good experience.

So yum! This pizza was big and yummy have always ordered to go but i do need to eat inside some time, the artwork on the walls are super nice. I got half pepperoni half fungus among us

This pizza is both the biggest and the best pizza I've ever had. The service is amazing and anyone is welcome. The old fashioned downtown decor really puts this place over the top.

My husband and I popped in for a quick bite while we were out running some errands and heard some great things about Empire! And were they right :) we would give a 4.5 if we could! Caleb was our server and was very attentive, kind, and checked in with how everything was going. We had a small misunderstanding with our pizza (our faults) and Caleb and the team made sure we were quickly taken care of! The manager offered us some garlic knots which were amazing and the pizza was just as good! We ordered the Uncle Buck. We also got to try a slice of their featured pizza, the Midnight Cowboy, and it looked delicious! Really grateful for the wonderful service, awesome atmosphere and good food!

We loved the vibe of this place!! As soon as we walked in, I knew it would be good. It smells incredible and it tasted even better. We will be back for sure! Best part is, this is right next to Cain's Ballroom

I met two friends here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. We got the lunch special and our pizza and salads were good. What I loved so much was our service! I was able to bring my dog to the back patio and our server was so sweet to her. She even brought her water and a bowl of chicken for her. I really like the pizza here but even more so I love the kind employees!

There is metered street parking available in front of the restaurant. We were seated quickly as it wasn't super busy mid week. Our waitress was alright not overly friendly and did try and turn the table quickly even though there were plenty of tables available. There is only one size gluten free option and there is vegan cheese. I tried the spicy Marina sauce and it was quite good with a decent kick. That was probably the best part, the spicy sauce. I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, the dressing was yummy. I would go back for the salad.

We popped into the restaurant on a Thursday evening while a concert was about to open next door at Cain's. We walked right in, we were greeted promptly and requested to sit at the bar. The bartender was excellent. He was attentive, had good conversation and seemed like a really genuine person. First time someone behind the bar has had opinions on the NA beers. It was so nice to be able to suggest brands back and forth and what we liked etc. The music was just right, loud enough to catch the beat but not so loud you can't hear each other. Bathroom was clean, restaurant was clean overall. Now to the pizza! I tried it for the first time Monday & was stoked I found my self there for more pizza on Friday! I've never had a slice like the M.C.A. it was outstanding! I ate every bite. The crust was cooked to perfection, the pizza wasn't greasy. I'm not much on sauce with my pizza but my husband had traditional ranch and tried the pink sauce that is made in house and has ranch and sriracha flavor. He said it was pretty good! I will be back and will definitely tell people about it!

The wood-fired pizza from the food truck was delicious, and the gelato was amazing! We went during an off-peak time, which was great because the place wasn't busy. However, the ordering process is a bit disjointed; you have to order drinks inside at the bar and then step outside to the food truck to order food. While it would be much more convenient to place all your orders in a single spot, the quality of the items makes up for it. Additionally, we tried the frozen margaritas and found them incredibly refreshing and tasty. The only downside was that we couldn't taste the alcohol in them or feel any buzz. Overall, it's a wonderful, laid-back spot to enjoy a cold drink and a great pizza.

The pickles were very good, but the onions were super thin and long strings that slung the mustard, which there was WAY too much of all over the place every time you took a bite as I wasn't able to cut them easy with my bite. I'm a keto dieter, and I will say that there are several tasty options to choose from. I will often get a burger with no bun, which is what I was craving today. This one went beyond my expectations! It was a hand-formed 8oz patty, and the chef was able to make it a perfect medium rare. It was delectably juicy, seasoned just right, and the cheese, peppers, onions and tomatoes topped it off perfectly. My salad had nice big slices of Parmesan cheese on top, and the lettuce was fresh and crisp, the dressing just right. Removing croutons is never a problem, but I appreciated that they happily left them off when they prepared the salad. If you're looking for keto options, you'll find many good choices here!

We were sat at a table for two- that was the only thing I didn't love, we played a game that took up a lot of space and between that and the food and drinks we spread to the table beside ours until the place was packed. I appreciated the large section of mock-tails and non alcoholic options. We tried several things and it was all great. Great atmosphere and set up- some of the servers stopped by and chatted about the game we were playing, and we chatted with the other couples playing around us. Super fun vibes, they have a large game library with lots of options, set up to be easy to browse. $7 a person to stay as long as you like is a steal as a way to spend an afternoon.

The lack of 5 stars is tied to 3 main factors: 1 - shoving virtue signaling in every corner of the store with pride flags and trans woke reminders does more harm then good. I'm all for love for everyone but why are you singling out trans and gay? It's virtue signaling and it's not needed to run your business. 2 - the $13 cocktail I ordered may have been 2-3 shots worth of liquid, basically it was so tiny and not worth the cost even remotely. 3 - the food is heavily focused on fried food, bread, French fries, i realize it's quick to cook but some healthier options would be nice. In general, I'm a fan of businesses thriving and standing out by shining through their product or service and not by shoving ideologies in peoples faces and virtue signaling. Until that changes, my family and I do not plan to return.

From a recent visit on Valentine's Day due to a spot having their kitchen close early (my pops was performing across the street so when they were done, we came over here), I'm glad we ended up eating here. We came in, got greeted instantly & even got a table the moment after we got greeted. I find it wild that we usually get seated by the stairs in the middle, not in a bad way, I really like that table & we end up there a majority of the time when it's just us two. I wish I remembered our server's name, she did an excellent job. I went with the Whiskey Burger & it was incredible. The wait on the food didn't take long at all. The whiskey chipotle BBQ sauce stole the show. The burger was perfect. The sweet potato fries went well with the burger, I got honey mustard as my dipping sauce. I was so hungry that I ran through my whole plate in a snap of a finger. I enjoyed that night, no complaints whatsoever. Side Note: The Olympics were going on & Curling was on the television on my right. We opted for this Irish themed pub last night for dinner, and can't say enough about the service, food and atmosphere. McNellie's (sounds Irish, right?) is located on one of the seemingly lonely streets near downtown, and came highly recommended by our hotel barista. The ambiance is definitely Irish-pub--dark wood, old wooden floors and walls of exposed brick--definitely a cool sanctuary from the oppressive summer heat and humidity. And what better way to quench your thirst and beer curiosity than choosing from hundreds of beers both on tap and bottled. For the local beer enthusiasts there is a Centennial club which rewards frequent imbibers with gifts leading up to the coveted pottery mug! Our server, McKayla--was delightful. She definitely enjoyed serving us, and offered recommendations good service and conversation. The summer salad caught my wife's eye, and she enjoyed the fresh mix of roasted pistachios, cheese, watermelon and mango. I jumped at the fish and chips, which I can honesty was the best I've ever had--topping what we had years ago at an English pub by a mile. McNellie's fish portion was large, and the batter was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I was a little surprised with the small portion of chips (fries), as most establishments seem give you lot, but I guess I was thankful in a way. With some beer left in our glasses, we decided to order a plate of fries (white and sweet) for desert! If you like beer and good Irish comfort food, McNellie's is a sure bet!
