Today the store was moderately busy and I could shop the aisles with ease. I love being greeted by beautiful plants and flowers when I walk in. The store is always spotless and the produce and shelves make it easy to see the products. I'm always watching my weight so I like to buy a lot of the fresh vegetables and produce. Then on to the uncured bacon without nitrates. Today there was Empire turkey breasts, which will be perfect for preparing for the high holidays. Hamburgers, frozen chicken thighs are great for a quick dinner. We bought some chicken salad which we had for our lunch. Onto the dog treats! We usually empty the shelves because Freckles loves them. Dave always finds great wines for himself and to share when we visit friends. I love the prepared foods but are wary of the high salt content. Last of all the beautiful cards for $1.00! Can't beat that price. I only wish there was a bench or somewhere to sit if I had to. I understand that stores don't want people loitering or hanging out. It's really difficult for elderly or disabled people to shop without being able to take a respite. Otherwise I don't have any complaints. The cashiers and employees are extra friendly and helpful. We always bring our own bags that are environmentally friendly. Thank you Trader Joe's!

The fall items are our favorite but hold on the Christmas Eggnog is to die for. Make sure you get there early so you can get two or three bottles. So good. They have an awesome floral selection and it is very reasonable priced. Make sure you pick up flowers for your wife or that special person. Happy wife. Happy life. We have made stops at Trader Joe's all over the country and they have reusable bags designed especially to the local theme. But during Christmas time at your local Trader Joe you can buy bags that are from around the country. Really cool idea by Trader Joe's.

The only knock I have is that they should have sent more au jus with the sandwich. It wasn't dry by any means, I just like the baptize my whole sandwich!

And I'm not saying that's bad, but if you don't have great teeth, forget it. Again, the bread is delicious and the cheese and meats are top-notch. I had the Italian sub but needed to heat it up in the microwave to soften the bread a bit. The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. Today they told us they were to shorthanded 4 people behind the deli counter and the wait was 45+ minutes. Some of the items are very very overpriced. The sub was not. It was about 10 bucks for the Italian sub. We bought the mozzarella with the tomato for $9.99 a pound. It was absolutely flavorless! I understand the mozzarella is fresh made, but the tomato was rockhard and ridiculous. SO disappointing. We paid way too much for that. Try it but good luck on wait times. Parking in back is better than waiting for a spot in the front of the store off 41.

Surprise, it is not Mexican, it is Spanish/Brazilian grocery store with a restaurant. They make their own breads and have a daily buffet! I was flying solo in the neighborhood and stop by for an early lunch. You have to enter the restaurant from the Grocery entrance door! In the back, behinds the selves, there were breads, muffin and other sweets on display and on the right, is a door way to a restaurant. A staff greeted me and I explained to him, this is my first visit here. Do you charge by weight or all you can eat? He explained to me in half English and Portuguese that it is all you can eat. It was early around 11:30 and he is stilling preparing the buffet. He prepared me a grilled steak with onion especially for me. There were Fried Pork skins or Pururuca de porco, Pasta, Chicken with Okra, Feijoada (Brazilian bean stew), white rice and salad bar. I started with a little salad and it was fresh! I have a bowl of Feijoada over rice and Pururuca de porco. It was delicious. This is a meal by itself! The pasta was spots on. I saw a sign "Caldo de Cana" or sugarcane juice, but I opted for a Guarana soda! It went well with my man-size lunch! Is this a high-end place like Rodizio or Texas de Brazil. It does not have a great selection on the weekday and not in the best location in town but the food is delicious.

I was rushed to leave at 5:00 PM even though the store closes at 7:00 PM on weekdays. I was also charged more than the shelf price, and the label hadn't been updated. Indian culture has always been something I wanted to explore. There is no better way to start or continue to learn about their culture then by experiencing their food. Food is something that bring us together no matter what nationality you are! I knew about Indian Grocery for many years but now all the stars are aligned and walked in to explore this store. We've eaten many dishes like Biryani, Tika Masala, Vindaloo, etc. at our Indian Restaurants. Today, we were focused on street food and snack. On our first visit on a Thursday afternoon, as we walked in, we saw a technician is fixing and working on a large refrigerator with the compressor on the floor. But other 5 large refrigerators are working fine! There is a small produce section available. It looks a little empty but they are expecting a delivery next day! They have a large selection of spices, flours, rice and other Indian dry goods. We picked up Khasta Kachori, Malai Kofta, Choley Bhatura and Chicken Vindaloo. At the checkout counter, we added 2 fresh Samosas. Khasta Kachori is a street food deep-fried and known for its crunchy shell and spiced filling inside. I consumed tea with Kachori but next time, I can use coriander chutney! I loved the spiciness but wife complained it is too hot! Fresh Samosa is filled with spices and peas. It is crunchy outside and soft inside. It is A+! Malai Kofta is cottage cheese and potato dumpling prepared in a mild spicy tomato gravy. We microwaved the Kofta and served over white rice and green peas for lunch. It is mildly spicy so my wife approved this dish! We have not tried the Choley Bhatura and Chicken Vindaloo yet! Will prepare for lunch next week! The Indian Grocery staff is friendly and warm! I'm sure we can pick some more items on our next visit. Another page in our Indian Culture and Food Exploration!
