Went in later the evening to get dinner for my kids spent over 100 bucks on small groceries. Guy at the register told me to insert my card on the slot to make the payment as soon as it said remove card my phone notification from my bank notify me that it was charged,guy at the register said it didn't go through so I told and show him I got charge for it he was like no it didn't so I paused for a sec and he was try it again so I did and same thing he ran it like 4 times till finally moved me to a different register with a. Different worker she scanned everything again and got charge 3 times! Now I'm disputing with savemart bookkeeper Katherine and just giving me the run around and till the day I'm still waiting for this money to come back to me apparently savemart don't have it! So my thoughts is a dirty worker there and the store don't care about it. I called corporate and same they just say sorry dispute it with your bank!! When in this store for the first time Nov. 2nd, to get two items, one line (the self check out had 2/3 of the green lights off), two people on front of me, 7 behind me. I was irritated because the next customer was gabbing w the female clerk, far longer after he was provided his receipt. I didn't say anything to either him nor to the clerk that completed the transaction. Except "keep the receipt." As l left the jerk was still gabbing w the clerk and I had to go around him and his kid to exit the store. Unwittingly not aware that the door on the west end was blocked, uturned my cart, to be confronted by the key carrier, with a confrontational "Whats the problem!!?" Not may I help you? Or are you looking for the exit?" I am a 69 year old who just returned from the cemetery, an am appalled with this rude, insulting approach to a paying customer. Is this standard practice? This is the worst ran grocery store in all of Fresno. Never are carts available. Cashiers are non existent. Lines go from cashier back to the meat dept because only two cashiers if you're lucky. 2 of the four self checkouts are usually closed. This store takes advantage of being the only grocery store west of the 99 highway. For those of us that live there luckily have the Vallarta just over the highway where carts are more available and cashiers are open all the way down the store. Do better SaveMart. The other Save Marts i visit in Fresno function much more efficiently. read more

This Save Mart is my most frequented Save Mart in Fresno (not my favorite). The staff are always helpful, the store is very clean, and they are always well stocked. The store may not be in the best area but they do a good job to make your shopping experience a good one. read more

Fried chicken is absolutely fantastic. But that's all I come here for now. Went today got the chicken. Went up font to pay. NO CASHIERS AND 1 SELF SERVICE REGESTER OPEN. There were a total of 11 people in line. The only people in the entire store who were working were the male employees. 5 female employees walking around up front talking to each other with hands in their pockets in and out of the office. The customers started asking for more CASHIERS we were all ignored until 1 male employee came up and opened. Then a female opened up after everyone was complaining. If they want to force us to self serve Have them open. The only reason I didn't leave was because I had the hot chicken from the deli and the female and male who work back there are FANTASTIC read more

COVID-19 Phase: Great, clean store! Masks are worn by workers and are required by customers. I went to the deli and ordered a chipotle chicken wrap! The worker was very nice and easy to talk to. His name was Crispin. The pasta was nearby and looked really good. Asked what was somewhat healthy and good. He recommended the Sicilian pasta salad. Ordered that in size 1. He was very kind and offered to help more if needed as well as wishing me a good day! It was appreciated! They had great music playing along with making recommendations of social distancing on breaks. I looked around the store and they had a bunch of great foods! From good frozen items to a great deli, bakery, alcohol and so much more! I checked out with Terry. Very nice. Wished for a good day and I was off. Great store! Great foods and more! I've gone to this Save Mart for years!!! It's just a mile from my house!!! I enjoy talking toy the various workers and look for sale items and get my dog food items there too---some of the workers I talked to over the years have retired or move to other stores In the chain! I used to call on their headquarters in Modesto and all their valley stores!!! Friendly people work there ! Im lucky to have them to deal with!!! I go there almost every day!!! I have been frequenting the Save Mart a lot lately. There is usually someone outside wiping down the carts as you walk in. The store seems pretty well-stocked. They now have plastic barriers between the cashiers and the customers in the checkout line. There were lots of staff members who were not wearing masks. Currently you are not allowed to bring in your own grocery bags, they give out free paper bags for you to use. read more

Very odd layout. You walk in, and bam, there's fruit snacks, then bread, and a semi-bakery area and a walkway of produce. It just feels odd. Although odd set up, I did need bread, so I grab my hoagie rolls a few more items and check out. I get to my office to build a sandwich and see the hoagie rolls had a hole on the side of the bread. I figure, eh, no big deal, its a hole. But, it must have been there for awhile because all 6 rolls were hard! Dang it!!! I have to say that while this store is the closest and most convenient to us we absolutely avoid going here unless it is an emergency. I really can't believe the one reviewer that stated everything is always fresh. They constantly have expired necessity items that should have been pulled but haven't. Do not under any circumstance buy anything from the "fresh" seafood section. We tried a few times and had to return spoiled clams, shrimp, fish. One time I bought some clams from them that the employee weighed and wrapped...I got home and almost puked because they were beyond spoiled stinky rotten. I have zero clue how the guy wrapping them didn't notice or what they would still be in the glass case. You can regularly find expired milk, salad mix, yogurt, cottage cheese that are being sold after the expiration date. Other items are often one or two days from going bad, so make sure to check those dates and cook the food within a few days, otherwise you will be tossing unused and unopened food into the garbage. Employees are polite, that is the only semi plausible reason to go here, but they aren't going out of their way to give you stellar service. read more

Also, I have received free groceries (pasta, salad) for buying a certain amount. Most importantly the cashiers are always super sweet, nice and friendly. They are always helpful! Save mart is a model grocery store. They are everywhere in The Central Valley. You can find every thing you need as far as groceries go. Most everyone that works there is extremely friendly and eager to help a customer. This location is good. It's not as nice as other SaveMarts because it is an older location, and hasn't been updated. I would have given a better review except for my recent visit. I get food from their deli a few times a week and always have a good experiance until tonight. I got their barbecue ribs and they were good. Ordered the marinated artichoke hearts and they smelt and tasted horrible. I took them back and was told oh well they are an aquired taste and next time you should ask for a sample. Oh well, really? There just went $5.00 down the drain as I threw them in their trash can. I don't usually shop with savemart but I just needed a few things for a dinner party I was hosting. Since this is the closest store to my house I decided to go there for the convenience. I had no problems finding the items except it is a bit weird that the half and half is not kept in the cooler with the milk. Anyways upon my checkout I realized I forgot to pick up one package of ground beef. I informed the cashier to which she asked if I wanted to go get it. I thought it to be poor customer service that she did not offer to send someone to go get the item for me but I politely said yes. I went quickly to the meat dept and grabbed the first package I saw. Upon my return to the check out lane I saw she had a line and my items were bagged on the end of the belt. The customer in front of me asked the cashier who's items those were to which the cashier pointed to me. The customer in front of me asked the cashier if she needed to take me first to which the cashier replied "no she can wait." I was shocked that the cashier didn't ask me since the customer was offering to let me back in line. I waited in line again and when I got back up to the cashier she brought up my order again and added the meat. She then put the raw meat with my bread which is a serious no no in bagging 101. The cashier was not friendly and made my whole shopping experience bad. Although I will say the bagger was very friendly and cheerfully asked if I needed help to my car which I declined. Overall this store lacks the customer service that I am use to receiving at my regular grocery store. read more

I come to this store almost everyday, but I am no longer going to shop here. I have been harassed by the employees and security a lot lately and always followed through out the store during all of my visits. I have never stolen anything or given them any reason so be starring holes into my back. The security stopped me a few days ago and accused me of stealing a candy bar and lighters! After showing them everything in my bag and in my pockets there was no candy bar and only a pack of purchased lighters that I literally was walking away from purchasing right then from the self check out. The security guard even watched me pay for it! On every single one of my visits before that for the past few months the employees follow me through the store watching me. This is very offensive considering I have not stolen or damaged anything! I have shopped here for years! But the past few months have been HORRIBLE! I have no need to steal anything, I have a job and work hard to buy everything I need! They have been so disrespectful when I have gone with my grandmother here and ask them for help. They give us horrible attitudes. I will no longer shop here until they've got new management and new employees! This used to be my favorite store closest to my house! But I guess now I'll have to try and do as much grocery shopping at Walgreens or CVS until I get a car. Do not waste your money here!
