I've never seen any customer complaining at the front desk. Flexible hours six days a week from 7 AM till 7 PM. 20 years of business to this place. On average, I have brought in 250 dress shirts to be laundered, 24 suits and a variety of other items (about $1,250 - $1400 worth of business every year). I just tried to have them re-do my black dress shirt, which came back with a lot of white marks all over the shirt and they quickly said I had to pay for it (at the time, I was bringing in about $60 worth of dry cleaning/laundry) I asked the manager and she said that I had to pay for it because I didn't request a "re-do" within 24 hours of picking up my shirt. I picked up 20 shirts that day - am I supposed to take all shirts out of the plastic and inspect them all that night and then return the ones they didn't do right? I can understand if I was a new customer but 20 years worth of business. I told them I wouldn't be coming back and taking my business elsewhere....no response. They may be the cheapest place in town but after years of being okay with shirts not properly laundered and broken buttons, I am done. Would love it if someone from management replied to this review, but not very hopeful. This is what Save On Cleaners did to my dress. When confronted, they said this is the condition I brought it in, which is, of course, untrue. If there are any stains on clothes at drop off, they note it down to make sure they are not held responsible for them. I tried to get the money back for the dry cleaning and the dress, with no luck. If you think you are saving money using this business, you are mistaken. They routinely ruin customers' clothes. We found a more ethical business with a similar price point in Salinas. I called to find out about hemming my pant legs. The lady told me the seamstress was not currently there and offered me her cell number. How awesome is that?? I called and spoke to the seamstress and she told me she would be there in 15 minutes. When I arrived she quoted me a very reasonable price. I have been coming here at least once every 2-3 months for the past 4 years. The really, really good? It's CHEAP (!!!) and in a very convenient location. Also, it's same day cleaning The good? For the price, they do a solid job of dry cleaning. If your clothes aren't how you want them when you pick them up, they'll do a "do-over" with no fuss. Granted, the fact that you'll have to come back is annoying, but I really don't expect perfection when I'm paying between 50-75% less than I would elsewhere. Also, at least in my case, they've never damaged any of my clothes. Other places have, but not them. The not-so-good: They kinda try to push you out of the door when you pick up your clothes. Don't let it happen. Make sure your clothes are well done. Also, it almost always smells in there. One last note: I've had my cleaning done at more expensive places, and I do notice the difference. If you want your delicate silk blouse to look immaculate, your skirt to have exact pleating or your 3k dress to look perfect, you should know better than to bring it here. For me, this is a place to bring shirts, slacks, blazers, party dresses (e.g., from Bebe), and winter coats. read more

If I could give this place a zero, I would. I used their services as a faithful customer for 3 years, and was pleased until a few months ago. During the pandemic, they lost a lot of staff and the new staff they have now are really unprofessional. The manager is wonderful, but even after months of patient understanding, both the quality of the cleaning and the rude and brusque service has not improved. No welcome, hello, smiles or pretty much anything! I was about to be overcharged so I made a comment regarding the quoted price and then asked for a supervisor. "Eddie" walked up & totally ignored me & threw out another price to the cashier. I drove off then called in to let a supervisor know I felt mistreated and Eddie got on the phone and started to scream at the top of his voice while ranting about me complaining. The name has changed, everything else remains the same. Previously Economy Cleaners, not much has changed with Save On Cleaners. The prices are still minimal at best (2.95 per garment cleaned/pressed) and the service is still what you would expect from a dry cleaning establishment. I have never experienced any of the complaints that have been posted here. The staff isn't exactly jumping over their counter to serve you, but they aren't rude either. This place does a pretty substantial job with cleaning and starching my clothes, so this will likely continue to be my go-to cleaners. read more

I'm very disappointed. Save On Cleaners donated a gift card to a local school fundraiser raffle in Monterey. I "won" the auction item, but when I went in with my laundry to redeem the credit, the cashier said she wouldn't accept it because it had been too long (8 months), the manager changed, and the prices went up. Dropped off my laundry and forgot I had left my Benchmade knife in my pocket. When I realized I had forgot the knife, I assumed it was gone. I went back a week later and asked if they had found a knife. The employee stated she would ask and call me. I really did not believe they would find the knife. I highly recommend the seamstress that works within the cleaners. She has sewn on Boy scout patches for me. She has made a tablecloth for me, and custom fitted a dress for me. I came in to drop off a couple simple items and was met with terrible customer service from the moment I walked in. Not only will you have to park somewhere near Costco and carry your garment far across the parking lot but you'll rarely be greeted. At best they'll look up and nod their heads at you, as if you're supposed to be the ones helping them. I understand this is a cheap place but the customer service is terrible. I had a really bad experience here today. I took in an item that I've had cleaned many times before (although not here). When I came to pick it up, they told me it would be extra because of the material. I guess they didn't realize it when I dropped it off, but it was no biggie at all! A few bucks didn't matter :) I gave them cash on top of the pre-paid amount I gave them at drop off. When they brought me the item, a white SuperDry vest, it seriously looked like they DIDN'T CLEAN IT AT ALL. I've never had this happen before. It sill had the stain I dropped it off with and overall just had those dirt creases that you can see on something white when it needs to be cleaned. I totally understand not all stains come out (although it was a really faint one), but something wasn't right here at all. The worst part though was how the owner treated me. He had a horrible attitude and reminded me of talking to a teenager. He said the label said "dry clean only" and I should try washing it. He said he didn't see any reason that fabric couldn't be washed but he'd have to "call me and ask" if he were to do that. Not sure why he didn't then - guess it was too much trouble? I was really kind, but made it clear that I wasn't happy and wish I hadn't paid if it couldn't come clean. He just kept shrugging his shoulders and saying "the work was already done" as if that meant he couldn't offer a refund. I said very nicely, "it seems silly to lose a customer over $6" and he shrugged his shoulders again. He literally didn't care one bit. Maybe they get a lot of one stop shoppers and it's enough to keep them going? Overall, the customer service got me most upset. I'm a business owner and I literally can't imagine not caring or trying at all to be fair to a customer, especially one that was really calm and nice about things. Mistakes in business happen and I totally get that - but to just take money and not care isn't ethical at all. Next time I'll drive the extra few miles to go to another cleaner instead of go for convenience and price. You totally get what you pay for here. read more

This store is under new ownership as of this year and they have definitely improved for the best. I took a peacoat that I got at a buy one get one free same (it was the "free" item) to an alterations center in Carmel to get the back lining sewed up and they charged me $25! I could have done a better job for less! Although they were close to my house, I decided I wouldn't use them again. Save-On was recommended to me so I decided to give them a try. I brought a pair of jeans in that got a hole in the back, and the guy working the front was super kind and told me it wouldn't be perfect, bit they'll do their best. It couldn't have been worse than the hole so I had nothing to lose. I picked up the jeans two days later and they looked perfect! Brand new and you could never tell there was a hole. And it only cost $5! I bring all my clothes here for dry cleaning and alterations. Fantastic job, good customer service and you can't beat the price. Try it out. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE 2 out if 3 VISITS!! I had used the Salinas Save On & was THRILLED every time, sad to say - these two are NOT affiliated! First time, everything was fine... 2nd time, I accidentally left my husbands paperwork & name tag in his pockets, apparently his now tie also - when I picked up the pants, the contents were still in the pockets & REEKED of cleaning fluid and the name tag was missing. They repeatedly argued with me telling me they ALWAYS empty the pockets, citing "policy", right up until I told them I PULLED THE CONTENTS FROM THE POCKET MYSELF. Upon returning to FIND the name tag (you get written up if you show up to work without it), they were unconcerned about it being missing & wanted till the next day to find it. Long story short, after pressing them & leaving - they found the name tag, but too late for hubby to take it to work as he'd already left. 3rd time - tried to pick up his shirt & was simply informed it had to be "re-cleaned" - I dropped it off purposefully to get it by the next day as hubby needed it for his uniform. They finally fetched the shirt after being "pressed" for info once again only to show me DIRT marks all across the front & a faded blue hue all over the right side if the shirt - neither which were there when I brought it in. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! They DO NOT CARE about you or your things!! read more

My husband and I have used Save On for many years, mostly because they are cheap. After what happened the last time we were in we will never go there again or recommend them. I took a fairly expensive shirt in to be dry cleaned. When I picked it up, there were several new stains that looked like grease spots. After complaining to the employee, they offered to re-do the shirt. It still had the stains when I went to pick it up. We requested to speak to a manager and when we showed him the stains he said "How do I know we did this?". No offer of a refund or an apology. He basically did not believe us. He was extremely rude and defensive, and after we said we would never return he turned his back on us and walked away. There are all sorts of religious references in this store, but the manager certainly did not have a Christian attitude. read more
