I came back because again, I kept hearing how good this spot was. Ok, ok, you win!!! Parking is still a pain in the butt because there is none. But the location was clean and fully stocked with great housewares--I got a set of beautiful vintage green class glasses. Ended up with a lot of great finds including a COS coat, a few dresses, some cool tops and all reasonably priced but since I had my mom with me got the extra 30% senior discount (on Tuesdays). LOVE Savers! How I have never been here is beyond me. I love thrifting and this is the spot. Parking is a hit or miss here but its ok. They make it up with the selection of items they have lol. I came here to furnish my new spot and they have amazing finds here! Browsing the housewares and found some great stuff. Scored a Kate spade bag for $30 was a steal. I drop off donations here ALL the time! The staff is super friendly, helpful, efficient, thorough. They will take most everything (just ask before) and can utilize it for either selling or giving to a needy source. Donation: You gotta go on WALNUT st, cross Stambaugh st. and swing around to the side they are accepting, do not block the parking garage or lots! Pull all the way up as you can and let them help you with their carriers or getting things out of your car- its top tier service! They rarely have limitations on items they do not accept, but if you can sort/categorize together, it is helpful for them. They also precisely audit and edit the supplies they are given and allocate impeccably, which is helpful for me to know at least. I feel really good when I donate here, like it is going somewhere much more than another selling platform, but employees or charities or whatever. Plus, the team/employees generously select items properly (unlike goodwill) and it all goes to Red Cross which I have been PERSONALLY funded by before. It's a win win for me, and HOPE or you as well. Inside, well...I've given exceptional items to resell here so I can attest to the quality of particulars, come and get some really cool shiz! Please donate here and check the place out for thrift buying...they have coupons and their charity source is not only reputable but extraordinary. Mariana is one of the worst managers I ever had to deal with. She is very rude and her ego is too much. Also, everything in this store is overpriced. I seen Dollar Tree items selling for $4.99 and damaged items for prices that make no sense. Very disappointing experience. read more

This is a huge thrift store. Prices are reasonable. Large selection of furniture. When crowded it can be a little difficult to get around the store, especially as the registers are in the middle of the store. You have to cut through the checkout line to get to the other side of the store. I would also plan to start upstairs next time as it's difficult to get up and down the stairs with the baskets. read more

This savers location offers a lot! They have one restroom (although pretty small and not as clean). This location is also two stories - I've never seen that for other locations before. I was able to find good thrift finds. Kind of a bummer that all savers removed their dressing rooms. Parking is a bit questionable, you'll need to find street parking! read more

The savers compared to others is very over priced. We generally go to the one in Santa Clara. We buy lots of puzzles and they are 2.49. Theirs were all 5.99 and even 6.99. They had quite a few pairs of cute tennis shoes and they were all over $19. No matter the condition and even if not a name brand. read more

The staff there at so rude! Even when you ask questions or ask for help they look bother by it. They question the price tags that have been placed by workers in the sorting department and take the item from you to be priced again and force you to come back and buy it, if you are lucky to find it again. The prices of items are crazy. The exact same item is priced 2 times more than the other one that is cheaper. At this point it's cheaper buying it new. Not sure who is in charge of the prices but it's ridiculous that these used items are not being priced accordingly. Not to mention a lot of the fake items being sold at high prices. read more

This is my local Savers and it usually has great items. Last week, I got a like new North Face fleece for $8. 90% of my clothing is now thrifted, goal is to be 100%. I really appreciate the generous donors and the employees who hard to keep the store so well organized. I love that they accept donations regularly. Pricing can be odd, but I will never complain -- Mother jeans for $10, oodles of Athleta for sub $15, and stunning 100% silk dress for $10. I have found amazing toys for my so including a vintage train set. Don't forget your coupon and hang onto your receipts. read more

Visited the shop for the second time ever despite living in town my whole life and having donated thousands of dollars in merchandise over 20 years. I needed a cheap used pot for a 1 time use and found one for $3.50. After using the self check out to buy the pot and a few other things for my wife, two employees approached and questioned the price of the pot because they thought it should be more. I showed them the tag and they accused me of swapping the price tag from a cheaper item, indicating that I'd lost my privileges to use self check out in the future. Not sure why their first reaction wasn't to just acknowledge their mistake and ask me to pay the difference. It was jarring and insulting, so I left the pot (despite paying for it) and won't be back. Accusations of bad acts by customers shouldn't be the knee-jerk reaction. read more

I don't go to thrift shops often, but this one was recommended to me as one of the best Savers in the bay area. After checking it out and comparing it to others I've been to in the past, I'd have to agree. The space is quite large with two stories at this location. They package some items together in bags (ie. toys or kitchen utensils), which may or may not be a perk. But otherwise, they have plenty of unique finds and quality items with good pricing (from furniture to electronics). I love that they have a whole section for cool signs and wall decor with inspirational quotes and clever sayings on them. Upstairs is mostly the kids section, but they also have some homeware and bath items for sale. I ended up purchasing a great towel and a beautiful rug that looked brand new for less than $3 apiece. Such great value! The employees were helpful and friendly. And self checkout was easy and efficient. If you're looking for a good second hand store, this is it! read more

Why is a 7-year-old Alienware Area 51 R2 desktop computer $599?! Mind you, I asked if the computer was tested, and the manager said No, it's sold as is. I seen this computer sitting behind the glass counter here for the past month and half. Nobody in their right mind would buy this. When you can get it on eBay between $300-$599. At least on eBay you're guaranteed your money-back with customer protection if it doesn't work or come on. They are crazy. read more

It was my first time here. I was looking for some accessories to complete my costume for Halloween. I stopped by on a Saturday after lunch. There is no parking lot but you can easily find parking in the near by residential neighborhood. There was a short line to get inside. Once inside I was amazed at the Halloween selection. It was pretty large. There was a section with costumes, wigs, head pieces, make up, and other accessories. There was a good amount of new unopened items too. I didn't really get to explore the other part of the store as I'm not a thrift shopper but everything seemed organized. I like that they even have self check outs. They do have a jewelry section but they are locked inside glass cases but no one was managing it so I left. I did leave the store with some pieces at very fair prices. read more

It was my first time at Savers, the store is huge, clean & organized but the prices of some items are not second hand prices. Lululemon men's pants at other second-hand stores are $10 but here they are $30. Some other hygiene items in plastic bags were priced reasonably like three Dr. Bronner's which were $3 for 3 or a brand new starbucks mug which was $2.49. BRAVA SAVERS! There was a clock without a price tag. The new manager assisted me... instead of telling me my item had to be restocked and priced... I left happy! This is all because the due diligence of the new manager. WOW the atmosphere in SAVERS is nice again! In the past I have complained about an employee. Woman with short black hair and glasses. That is no longer there. Glad that she is gone. Whom always made me feel uncomfortable as she ignored me when I needed assistance. Honestly made me defensive towards the other employees. Is the one that told me that when I had an item with no price tag had to be restocked. What a difference a nice reasonable PROFESSIONAL person makes. Honestly took me by surprise! I enjoyed this thrift store. It's pretty big with two levels and even has a self check out which you don't typically see in thrift stores. I've seen other reviews commenting on the parking, though, I cannot speak on that experience as I took the bus here. I also like how everything is organized by size, it makes it much easier for me to look through size rather than a whole bunch of clothing and find stuff I like just for it to not be my size. The only reason I knocked down a star is that it's rather pricey. A lot of the items I saw were overpriced, In my opinion, especially for something that was donated and preowned. I saw many things I liked, but due to some ridiculous pricing I only left with three items (one of them not even fitting because this place doesn't have a fitting room, so now I have to return it or sell it to a friend) putting the rest of my finds back on the rack, and signing up to get a coupon. I will be coming back to this thrift, but you really have to be picky here or else the price adds up quick read more

I couldn't find parking near this Savers, unlike previous visits. All of the street parking is now paid parking. We circled the place twice, and left. It wasn't worth the hassle in the rain this Saturday, 2/4/23. Yeah, I sound like a wimp. I have not visited downtown Redwood City in awhile. I know, it's not Savers fault that RWC charges for downtown parking. This store has been here a long time. I read some of the recent reviews on returns, exchanges, no dressing rooms, and no trying on clothes over your clothes. It does not sound very customer friendly. That's a pain. Factor in that the store is open until 7:00 pm. Downtown parking rates are 1.00 (Or .50 cents on the perimeter-Would this location be in the perimeter?) per hour, unlimited, until 8:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Do they validate? That's a good question. Yeah, I *might* come back on a Sunday. I won't go out of my way for it. It's not worth it. read more

I love Savers and that seems like a big statement for a thrift store, but they're the only ones I know who have a wall of bags to look through. Doesn't that scream FUN? They have a ton of stuff to look through - clothing, bags, beauty, books, picture frames, toys... I mean, if you don't come with a clear path in mind then you can find yourself in here for hours. There's a worker by the door who greets you and keeps count of how many people are coming and going. Everyone wears a mask and the carts are cleaned after each use. I have been going to this Savers since I was kid. In the recent years they have marked items up like crazy, if that's the case just rather go to target to buy it brand new right? I actually went in this morning. Of course, fitting rooms aren't back which is annoying for customers. So I tried on a shirt to see how it looks size wise in front of the mirror. From the side of my eye on the right I see a guy walking toward me pretending like he is looking for something and starts fixing racks around me. Then he looks over and says "are you buying that, or is that yours?" Pointing at the shirt I tried on. I said no I'm trying it on but I'm going to buy it. And he says "oh unfortunately we cannot have people try on items anymore, this is why we have a 14 day return policy". I just mentioned again I was buying it. And he's like "yeah sorry we can't have customers try on the items". So to confirm, your 14 day policy is not returns or refunds. It's credit on the spot or you lose. And you expect people to buy stuff and lose their money either way if it doesn't fit, which means items end up being donated again and you make money but your customer is screwed over?! I don't think so, every time there is something changed here I look over it but I think this was the last straw. No fitting rooms, no trying on stuff and no refunds. No thank you! My fellow thrifters, I recommend you going to the San Carlos thrift. WAY better pricing, sales every week, and 30% off every weekend on everything. read more
