Excellent thrift store. They have sales based on tag color throughout the week and for most holidays. Good selection of mens, women's, and children's clothing. Organized by type (short sleeves, tanks tops, etc.) and color, but not by size so be ready to flip through the racks. Prices as low as $1 for men's t-shirts. Most tops seem to be $2-10. I am so mad!! Spent $8.99 on a second hand cup for it to be RUINED by a price sticker. Glue from sticker absolutely peeled paint off. No damage on cup before buying so I totally wasted my money!! I think the art is overpriced, but the bin items and knickknacks are quite affordable along with the clothing. I also like that you can find clothing for all seasons here, so if you're looking for a vacation outfit or need gear for different weather, this is a good place to look. We went to go pick up my step kids and quickly stop by this place. This is not a quickly stop by place! It was huge. From the outside it's deceiving. I found the toddler clothes section and quickly found some awesome finds! I found a soccer ball workout shirt, a comfy mermaid print onesie, and a cat and jack tank top for my daughter. I swung by the women sweatshirt section (I know it's hot, but I'm addicted to good sweatshirts). I found two good quality sweatshirts! I'm excited to wear them when it's not crazy hot out ;) They had a 50% off sale on green tags that day so I got some even bigger deals. Father's Day they are having a 50% off everything. Use to be decent. Use to be 'used' quality stuff that was clean, gently worn, undamaged goods. But now they've put price tags on anything/junk.The flats I looked at last week were torn, missing studs, straps frayed...doomed to fall apart shortly after purchase. So no shoes worth it really when I was there. Lots of whiney kids too...dirty floor and it smells. They put double staples on the price tag! Often covering the size tag! The place is unwelcoming and unfriendly. The contents is really picked over by the staff before anything gets on the floor. What's left is the absolute bottom of the barrel and you're lucky if the staff missed something that wasn't worthless, filthy or broken. One staff member even seemed a tad annoyed I had found something they should have kept for themselves. Everything in here is grimey. You literally cant wait to wash your hands after. They don't make any effort to care for anything. They turn over very little of the clutter. Most of the stuff on the shelf sits and sits taking up space and no one even knows what's back there. COVID-19 Informational Review: As usual, you will park in the rear lot and enter the store through the alley. In case they reach capacity, they have taped off where you should wait along the wall in the alley (see pic). Masks are required. Just inside the doors, they have sectioned off the entrance in a way that you can only use the steps (3, not steep) to enter and the ramp to exit (see pic). I imagine that if you're in a wheelchair you would have to call out for an employee to unblock the ramp. Only shopping baskets are in use. The carts are off-limits (see pic). Dressing rooms are unavailable (see pic). Once you're in the store, the only enforced social distancing is when you're ready to pay. There's a sad lack of quality thrift shops in Fremont ever since my beloved Thrift town closed about five years ago. Recently, we were visiting a store in San Carlos and I looked up thrift shops nearby and came across Thrift center. I was amazed from the moment I watched through the doors. It's clean, very well organized, large, and the items there are higher quality than I've seen another thrift shops. We left with a beautiful leather office chair that was $25, marked at 50% off, so I practically stole it at $12.50. There were some beautiful designer blouses that I snagged, at such low prices that I could not believe my eyes! My companion got four Quality shirts and we left having paid only $43 for everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there are quite a few employees always around, tidying up, or adding new clothes to the racks. All of the employees I tried speaking with only spoke Spanish, but the nice gentleman at the checkout spoke English. My only complaint is that the clothes are not arranged by size, So you have to do some digging to find your size. That could be a bit time-consuming when it comes to men's pants. But the clothes ARE arranged by color, which is nice.. The parking lot is behind the store. You can park on the street directly behind the store and walk through the small parking lot to get to the store. There's also driveway entrance that you can't see very well, immediately after the gas station. All in all, I can't wait to get back there with some friends. It's definitely worth the Dumbarton bridge toll! read more

I needed to look into their furniture. Someone came and kicked me out. They recently came up with a backpack policy and because I had one on they kicked me out. I didn't even do anything. This place has a great selection of both household goods and clothing. I recently started thrifting and have already found a nice selection at the thrift center including wicker baskets, wooden bowls, and alo and lululemon workout clothes. The items are priced very competitively compared to other thrift shops and are in great quality. The staff at the store are also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place if you are on the hunt for some good Bargains! read more

Horrible customer service Untrustworthy The day I went the blue and pink tags were 50% off. I found a sweater suit set that didn't have a price but had a PINK tag. I found a worker and asked for a price and showed him the pink tag. He even said "okay pink tag" He takes it to the back removes the pink tag and relabels it with a green tag for $12.99 (all the other sweatsuit sets were $8.99) I went to the cashier to try and resolve the issue but she treated me like I was bothering her or lying and said "well that's the price they put so" If the tag was pink I woulda still got the set since I liked it so much but they really tried to play in my face with my money absolutely not. I didn't realize a thrift store could be so money hungry and bold to play in customers faces!! 0/10 untrustworthy would never go again I see that some of the reviews say they change the price of things when you're checking out at the counter that's crazy!! In terms of the actual place, the parking lot and entrance can be hard to find if it's your first time looking for the location. The store is a little disorderly and cluttered, but that's a given at many thrift locations. In terms of finds, that's very subjective. I'll find gems once in a while, but most times I'll walk out empty handed. What's nice about the store, is that they offer discounts on different days of the week on different types of items. Let's start with the cons: small parking lot, can be difficult to find on first visit, only two dressing rooms, stuff is not sorted by size whatsoever. A high % of clothing items appeared stained or ripped. If you're like me and searching for certain brands, it's very difficult because they staple the price tags right there. Oh and they ruin books by writing prices on them with permanent marker. Pros: lots of great finds, including name brands. Large selection of clothes. I've never left this thrift store empty handed and I've never spent more than $40 in a single trip. While the store is huge and overwhelming at first, it is very organized. They have frequent sales from 30-50% off store wide. The prices could not be any better. I've found pieces from Calvin Klein, Zara, Ralph Lauren, coach. I even got sneakers that retailed for $300 for $15! They also have some great home pieces as well. read more

I like thrift stores. I do. I like the hunt of it all, but I don't think the amount of thrift stores I've been to could ever prepare me for my trip to this one. First off, it's located on El Camino Real. Parking is in the rear. This place is next to a Chinese restaurant. Turn into their parking lot and go around back and you'll find the parking lot for the thrift store. Next off, the front door? I assume it was on the street side as I passed by the doors while driving. NOPE. Turns out where you park in the back, the front door is there, too. The doors on the street do not open. This thrift store is INSANE. I didn't realize how packed it was going to be until I stepped in and was hit with so much stuff. Like, racks on racks on racks of clothing for all ages, all genders. Their electronics section is a bit of a mess, but so is their bag of goodies. I tried looking for some treasures to take home, but I was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff they're trying to sell that didn't even look sellable. Overall, I'll for sure never bring my boyfriend here because he gets claustrophobic. I'll probably also need some time to recoup from that overwhelming experience. read more

I'm writing this through the eyes of someone who has dropped off goods for donations over the years. The drop off experiences have ranged from acceptable to awful with everything in between. Employees should be appreciative of those making donations, but with all trips I sense that I am putting people out of their way to accept my belongings and give me a receipt. In about 10 drop offs that I have made over the years, 4 times they posted a sign that they were full and would not take donations. Contrast this to my experience at the San Mateo Goodwill facility where the staff are always appreciative and helpful and gladly accept donated goods EVERY TIME. read more

Been to this place multiple times, and now I remember why I don't frequent. Was "greeted" by two employees lounging in the front chairs eating yogurt. Okay, I guess. Do your thing. What made me walk out was witnessing an employee putting out clothes from a new rack onto the floor. In the middle of transferring clothes, she dug in her pocket and pulled out a napkin-wrapped peeled orange and started eating it while putting out the (unwashed and dirty) clothes. She wiped the fruit juice onto the garments on the rack, made eye contact with me, ate another slice, and kept working with it in her hand. Do they have a break room? Items are not thrift store prices in general. First good item I seen was an ottoman that had dirt on it priced at 50.99. Finally found a good thrift store priced item (a floor lamp) priced $15.99 I am excited about this excellent and rare find in this 'thrift center'. Also, found a John Daily Golf Towel at 3.99 and a Christmas Ornament at $1.99, so those were decent. Once it came time to check out, the lady called the manager on the walkie talkie bc she didn't like the price they set it at. A man came and said yeah this is wrong and they claimed someone changed the price. I realize that people do that sometimes, and by claiming that in the front of the store despite the tag being in perfect shape. i was pretty embarrassed... so I proceeded to point out to them, and other customers that we're listening that the tag was in perfect condition and has not been tampered with and that it's their fault they priced it at what they did. Long story short...They said no, and doubled the price on me. I'm a first timer at the Thrift Center and let me tell you something. I'm NEVER going back there again. My experience was awful. I was browsing through the clothes happily until a random man came up to me. I was obviously very confused. He asked me do you like these pants? I said no. He said well do you want to buy them for me? I said no! He kept asking me to buy them for him. He followed me around for a bit. As soon as he found someone else to ask, I made a run for it. I tried speaking to some employees but they were all too busy to hear my complaint. I was so frustrated that I stormed out of the store. I couldn't enjoy the time I put aside to go thrifting because of that man and the employees. I'm very disappointed! read more

Okay, I think it is weird rating a thrift store 5 stars, because it has old and dirty stuff, but I also think this thrift store is a great local business that serves the community. It takes in tons of donations and re-sells them at very reasonable prices. On Tuesday mornings, all clothing items are half off. On most days, there are at least few color tags for half off. They have the largest kids' section of any thrift store. Because kids outgrow clothes so fast, I hate spending tons of money on retail kids clothing that are only worn once or twice. Most kids' clothes are $1-$2, and if you come on a sale day, it is even cheaper. Occasionally, I find a nice Ann Taylor sweater or Banana Republic skirt for myself for $5-$6 -- can't beat the prices here! The housewares section is usually messy and somewhat disorganized. The dressing rooms are kind of dirty. That is okay...my expectations for thrift stores are not that high to begin with. read more

I like going here. I have found a few gems over the years. I kid you not but about 10 years ago I found a real vintage Gucci purse from the 70s. Recently I have found some cute bottles that are worth more than I paid for and yesterday I found a working clock. I brought it home to find out it is an Italian handmade clock that sells new for over $350. I do not like touching clothing so I cannot say if the clothing has good deals but I know that they are all color coordinated and well organized. I do sometimes find them overpriced. They have this beautiful figurine of a woman in the front display case and they want $50 and I saw one just sell on eBay for $15. When are they planning on changing the lightbulbs in this joint? I've been coming here off and on for of five years and EVERY time I enter this place it's like I have to put on night vision goggles to shop! It's dim, but it is especially dark in the women's section. There are ZERO lightbulbs and that's annoying. Other than that I've only had luck buying books for my classroom because it's lit up in that section. Their shoes are overpriced (10.99 for some crusty dusty K-Mart specials from '91...uh...okay. I don't get to go out to San Carlos much anymore but when I do, I make it a point to visit this thrift store. They have great 50% off deals and their clothing is color coordinated. Pretty organized. I seem to score the best deals with their electronics, having bought a printer for $15, a canon lens for less than $20, so I always check the electronics counter first. Am I allow to rate this place no star?! My son found this place and we were just having a mother and son day to go thrift shopping because that's what he enjoy to do. This is has the worse employees. I don't care if you are not as helpful I don't expect great service going to these kind of places. But or I would ever expect to be mistreated. My son was going through a dump pile of wallets and pouches he found upon a small coach pouch he was thinking to buy, but he end up not getting it so he put it right on the counter at the cashier! We walked out almost got to our car I hear someone yelling I turn around it was a white lady with silver short hair She follow us and had the audacity asked us where is the red pouch accused us of taking that it. I walked back inside and she saw it there on the counter! I yelled out we don't steal! She did not even apologize and said I'm just checking, are you kidding me?!!! If there is way to give minus star, I would have. Called them TWICE to make sure if they are interested in a sofa bed and both time they say yes. The sofa is in perfect condition and thought someone can make good use of this as we do not have need of this anymore. Rented a truck to make the delivery and the person at the counter say.. they don't take them. WTH?? why don't you say that when I call and not have me go thru the trouble of renting a truck.
