I stopped here because like an idiot I forgot to press a dress shirt for a function which was the next day. My usual dry cleaners couldn't do it in a day so I drove a little further away and stopped here to see if they could have it done next day. Not only could they press by next day but they dry cleaned it too ( which it didn't need but I might as well if I'm dropping it off). Stopped back next day and it was done. Pressed well and ready to go. No complaints here.....the service was friendly and the shirt was done perfectly. It's a little out of the way for me but if I need something quick I will definitely stop back here. They also do laundry and there is a tailor right next store. read more

Two bad experiences! I'm new to town so the first time I went in to drop off some clothing to get dry cleaned I was told they don't give pricing until the job is done and picked up?!?! I found that weird but being that a neighbor recommended this dry cleaner I left my clothing when I went to pick up my clothing they had unattached a tie that was attached to a blouse and charged me separately. Second time around I went to get the sleeves of my coat shortened when I asked can they do the job the tailor told me that he specialized in shortening of the sleeves and no stitching would be seen well you guessed it he did not specialize in sleeve shortening the sleeves were super short he put something up the sleeve now making the sleeves look scrunched. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLEANERS! Worse experience all around. read more

I've been using this dry cleaners for 10+ years. When I started they were one of the only cleaners with the ability to get items back same day consistently. The quality however has always been inconsistent. All of the staff except ONE (the short lady who is the manager) are moody and rude. The value is not there for what you pay at this place. I've been using wash and fold services for 25 years and never have I seen a cleaners as bad as this. None of the places I've ever used have ever given me my clothes back this wrinkled. My clothes look like they were crumpled in a ball and left to dry in the basket. I've literally never seen clothes this wrinkled before, I didn't even know it was possible. They have to be doing it on purpose. They charge more than any other place I've ever used, they refused to discount the weight if the laundry bag and they're not open on the weekends, so get used to dropping and picking up laundry being part of the weekday chores. They did a horrible job dry cleaning a suit, the staff are beyond rude, unprofessional, and way overpriced.

First thing I'd like to mention is that I've been doing business with Safeway for over 3 years now since I moved to Clifton. My dry cleaning bills are a considerable amount. A few days ago I picked up a dress that I had cleaned there. As always, I do a quick look at my cleaned items. While still in the store I pulled up the plastic and the dress had a lot of creases on it. I asked the employee helping me to have the manager/owner speak to me. I have never met the owner before. As soon as he appeared, I could just tell there wouldn't be an easy resolution. I explained to him when the dress was brought in to be cleaned it did not have all these creases on the dress. So he started to explain that the machine they use did not appear to be able to dry clean the dress as should be expected. They should have stopped right there. So I would have thought I would have been contacted by the owner right away after these creases were noticed before continuing any further. We'll, that did not happen and my dress is now unwearable. He did not offer anything in the way of reimbursement or even an apology. Lesson learned, I should have read all the prior reviews regarding the way he handles his business. I've never had anything dry cleaned here but I've had a few things tailored over the past decade. Their tailors (current and past) have been great. Awesome turn-around time and fair pricing; Last week I dropped off a pair of pants w/ a broken zipper, a vintage leather coat that needed shortening, a top that needed to be taken in and everything was ready for pick up today. All for around 75$. Can't beat that price, esp after I had ONE fuggin pair of pants tailored in Montclair for 95$ (yeah, I know, shoot me). Owner and tailor are super friendly. Last week, I took my clothes for bulk cleaning and after I got it back, two of my favorite shirts went from being white to BLUE. Of course, I spoke to the manager and you know what he said? I have been going here for 30 years and love the job they do. I work close to their store. They offer same day service, in by 10 and out by 4. This is important to me because I always forget to get my dry cleaning done until I am down to very little in my closet. The folks at Saveway Cleaners have even helped me out with tailoring jobs in a pinch. I needed my dress hemmed before a big event. It was done in two days and it came back beautifully. Most places wanted me to wait over a week. I also, got a receipt marked with the price on it prior to leaving. I was shocked by some of the other posts. I've been a loyal customer to this cleaner for nearly 3 years now. When I picked up my dress shirts this week I noticed that two of them were cut with clear scissor marks. When I spoke with the manager (an old woman with short blond hair) I told her what happened and that I was not looking for a refund or anything, just an apology. Not even two words into my explanation she started to interrupt me and claim that I had caused the damage. One of the shirts was not even worn yet that week because the last time I had picked it up it wasn't pressed properly. The management here is rude, arrogant and not caring of their customers. Recently bought two shirts exactly the same in two different colors . Wore one ... had it laundered afterwards for a price of $2.50 . Second shirt needed pressing only a week later than the first . Brought it in and asked for pressing only . When I picked it up they asked for $6.00. That's $3.50 more then the laundered price . Spoke with the owner and he tells me the pressing only is done by hand and the laundered shirt is done by machine . OUTRAGEOUS !!! Why wouldn't they tell you that at the counter I asked . He said it was the customers responsibility to ask !! No prices posted in the store anywhere and no prices listed on your ticket when dropping off . Then he tells me that's the way it's been for years including the prior owner's . BIG LIE . NOT TRUE !!! The prior owner hand wrote every ticket along with the prices . This owner is not only lying but it's a scam to tell me it's my responsibility to ask prices when dropping off ! That means every time you walk in even with the same laundry you need to ask prices since it could change daily . DON'T TRUST HIM ... DON'T LIKE HIS BUSINESS PRACTICE ... . Horrible! I brought in a black sweater to be cleaned and they destroyed it by tearing a huge hole in the front. The worst part is that they took no responsibility for it and claimed I brought it in damaged. The owner is a horrible woman, who verbally attacked me when I came in to speak with her about my damaged sweater and came up with all these different ways in which I damaged my own sweater! I brought in a dress and two pairs of pants. I was quoted for the items at $11. My boyfriend went to pick the article of clothing up and they charged me $20 telling me that the dress alone was $10. I would not have had an issue had I been made aware from the start, but that was not the case. I followed up with a phone call with a VERY defensive women -- who claims that she DID not write the price down, after I had watched her during my visit. Clearly, I will not be using their services again. This is the third incident that I have had with them. The first involves a White Ralph Lauren Oxford which now has my name inked into the collar. They said the woman should have asked me if I wished for them to do that, and she later admitted that she never did. The second was for a comforter to be fixed where the ribbon was coming off. They sewed all but the spot that needed to be fixed, if they even tended to the comforter at all. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Unreliable and total SCAMMERS! Watch out for this one! Not only was my white leather jacket not ready on time (2 weeks late), these people had the audacity to replace that hanging piece of the zipper on it which was a designer item with some ridiculous thing without thinking I would notice it! Jacket cost $700 so it totally ruined the look. Needless to say they didn't say anything. I was in shock when I saw it... They also stamp your last name on clothing items in black ink without even telling you about it. My bf wasn't thrilled to have my last name stamped in fat black letters on the collar of his 5 shirts. ..and as an icing on the cake the lady who calls herself a manager there is so ignorant and rude I am still scratching my head wondering who is the person in charge that appointed her to deal with customer issues. When he complained, he was told that I must be overweight and I must've ruined the clothes. Then he was told to relax because the clothes were only J. Crew brand anyway (I suppose they handle lots of Lanvin in Clifton!). And then the staff accused my husband of attempting some elaborate ruse. Long story short: we will never return here. DO NOT USE SAVEWAY CLEANERS AT ALL! I went in and had 14 dress shirts cleaned and a pair of suit pants to be altered and spent $50 and it was nothing short of a nightmare. First, they use ink on the shirt collars to identify the clothing...as if they are not smart enough to find a less archaic way to do so. The clerk did not tell me that they do this and INKED MY SHIRTS WITHOUT MY CONSENT. In the process, they stained and ruined ALL the shirts. It was like pulling teeth to get them to rectify the situation as it took over a week. On top of that, the manager, Roy, has an extremely lackadaisical approach in his customer service skills. He said he would only refund me the money I paid for the shirts on the condition that I don't speak to the owners, whom apparently he is afraid of and rightfully so because I bet this isn't the first time Saveway has ruined any clothing. He was rude and unapologetic about the situation and tried to weasel his way out of it by not attempting to remove the ink stains from ALL the shirts. The tailor botched the pants too but at least he was apologetic and willing to rectify the situation on the spot. I am still going to let the owners of this place know that their employees sans the tailor are incompetent and insolent. Do yourself a favor and GO ELSEWHERE for your dry cleaning needs. read more

this tailor is an awful cheat. i brought in three pairs of dungarees to have hemmed with the original bottoms. i was quoted $10 each, when i went to pick them up about a week or so later, the (presumable) owner said they were $14 each. he (supposedly) called the man i'd spoken to and (supposedly) asked what he'd quoted me and was (supposedly) told it was $14 - (he, inconsiderately, spoke his native language to the man in front of me so that i would not understand). okay, $14 isn't a huge difference, but instead of the total being $30, it was $42, a difference of $12 - which for a recent, jobless, college grad, was quite a bit. afterward, i noticed that they hadn't CUT any fabric, but instead folded it up and sewed it with a cuff on the inside. after a month or two, the threading started coming loose and the hem dropped. shoddy work. i brought them somewhere else. i'm in my mid twenties and my family has been taking me there since i was in grammar school. i will never, ever go back there again and told the rude, rude, rude owner as much. read more

Very bad customer service. After being a loyal and regular customer for over four years, they lost 2 of my items and would not take responsibility. I was such a regular having gone at least 2 times a week and spending hundreds of dollars over the years in dry cleaning, they never gave me a receipt. However, when they lost my items they arrogantly said.."oh well, you have no proof with no receipt". They even questioned whether I brought the items there. Luckily, someone who was given my items by mistake returned them. This is the only business where the customer is never right! This customer was accused of telling half truths and not understanding the convoluted policies of this establishment. Leaving blouses to be washed and ironed, I picked up those blouses having been DRY CLEANED (so they said) and if they were pressed they sure didn't betray such efforts Going to the establishment looking for redress was futile.
