I find that treatments that require a lot of extractions usually aren't very relaxing since they take so much time, but Tomo somehow managed to thoroughly address my congestion while still making the experience feel calming and restorative. I've been to Talum several times now, and each experience has been lovely. At my last visit in May, I tried something new ... microneedling! I was nervous going in (a bunch of tiny needles poking your face sounded intimidating) but I've read that this minimally invasive tool can yield pretty good results ("needling triggers the body's natural healing process to boost collagen and elastin production to smooth fine lines, reduce acne scars, and improve overall skin texture") without too much discomfort or downtime. Tomo told me what to expect and was sensitive and as gentle as possible. The feeling is more like pressure on your face than stinging or pricking, and it was totally manageable. I had the smallest needle, as it was my first time, so no numbing cream wasn't even necessary. Tomo gave me post-appointment instructions (how long to stay out of the sun, what not to put on your face in the immediate aftermath, etc.) which were very helpful. Within a week of the appointment, my skin definitely felt smoother. My hope was to lighten some acne scars and I can say that now about two months after the appointment, I have noticed a real difference both in my skin's texture. It is smoother, seems balanced and I do think some of my spots have lightened a bit. I also use a prescription retinol cream which is supposed to have a similar impact, but I had been using it for about 3 months prior to the microneedling and hadn't noticed any change, so I'm guessing the needling and the cream are a good combo.
