But in the end, that grouper was perfect. It came atop of multigrain rice, roasted red peppers, spinach, black beans, and mushrooms. Plus the roasted red pepper cream sauce was chefs kiss. Everyone else at the table also cleared their plates: thin crust pizza, short ribs, and sea scallop risotto. Clearly you can't go wrong here. You can go with a traditional Smashburger, or choose the Duck Fat Burger, which isn't smashed and is cooked in duck fat. I've had both, and I think they're equally amazing. And, of course, you have to order a side of the double-fried French fries. Today's meal was excellent. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium, everything arrived hot, and it was packed with flavor on a lightly toasted bun. Paired with the crispy fries, it made for a terrific meal. The portions are generous, so I even had leftovers. The burger and fries reheated surprisingly well in the air fryer the next day. The service was personable and friendly, and the atmosphere is bright and comfortable, with plenty of room for small groups to enjoy a meal. Inside, the décor is clearly intentional, with thoughtful details that make the space feel warm, elevated, and inviting. The service was outstanding. We had a fairly large group (around 10 people), and not once did anyone go without water, drinks, or a friendly check-in to make sure everything was perfect. Truly attentive without feeling overbearing. If you're an Italian food lover, this is absolutely the place. Pasta, bread, steak--they have it all, and nothing disappointed. And the cheese wheel?! You don't need a trip to Italy for that experience. Watching my son's noodles get coated in rich, melty cheese tableside was both delicious and memorable--an experience all on its own. They let us know ahead of time that some of the food might come out at different times, and there might be a wait but neither of those things happened. Our food arrived at the same time and it didn't take long at all. So much stuff to look at... great place to celebrate a holiday, have brunch, grab a drink with friends or have a quick lunch. The waitress right away asked him if he wanted a side? He then proceeded to ask for his choices and then order the side salad. When the bill came, we were shocked to see a three dollar up charge. My expectations of a waitress/restaurant is you explain to the customer what the sandwich does come with if anything and then explain up charges for additional sides. It was a tricky way for waitress to do it. Also, I'm a Hefeweizen beer drinker. And Café Hollander did not have one Hefeweizen on tap. Huge beer menu and not one. We even asked the waitress to double check with the bartender.

I was surprised to see a sazerac on the cocktail menu (the vibes are more basic bar beverages) but it is indeed on the menu. I ordered it and it was a beautifully rendered sazerac. For our appetizer we ordered and enjoyed the burrata. The burrata was creamy, delicate, and balsamic drizzled. It's served with small garlic toast and was a wonderful start to the meal. For my main, I got the caesar salad with salmon added. The caesar was chopped (no overly large leaves of romaine to contend with), crisp, and perfectly dressed. The addition grilled salmon topped it off to make a wonderful and filling meal. The service was attentive and efficient. The atmosphere is deceptive-at first glance it has a basic sports bar dining room vibe--but, check out the sunken fireplace with soft bench seating. I can picture myself there with a cocktail this winter. Such cozy vibes! Get to it!
