Dined here recently, and it was so enjoyable! First of all, the location is great right in the center of this walkable town. Their front patio is very welcoming and has plenty of seating. We opted for inside however, as it was a tad chilly during our visit. The inside is welcoming too though: rustic like bar area, big dining room, and an open kitchen. Shout out Scott for taking care of us- what and friendly guy, with attentive service. Not to mention he knew everything on that menu like the back of his hand. Big fan of both my gin martini, and my blackened grouper entree. And let me tell ya it was a tough pick because there are tons of delicious-sounding options here. But in the end, that grouper was perfect. It came atop of multigrain rice, roasted red peppers, spinach, black beans, and mushrooms. Plus the roasted red pepper cream sauce was chefs kiss. Everyone else at the table also cleared their plates: thin crust pizza, short ribs, and sea scallop risotto. Clearly you can't go wrong here. Definitely a bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but I suppose you do get what you pay for! read more

Food: we were here on a Monday night and were surprised to see a large crowd filling the Restaurant. It was not a holiday Monday, but they had a great deal on filet mignon 8 ounces for $23 with mashed potatoes and veggies. We had an order of that as well as the tempura shrimp with coleslaw and walnut salad. tiramisu dessert was also good. We split the Wednesday Date Night deal and it was awesome! A starter to share, 2 entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine- you can't go wrong! We had the crispy cauliflower (delish!), I had steak (cooked perfectly) and then we split key lime pie for dessert (so fresh!). Went for a family celebration tonight to Zin and had a reservation booked for inside and on the mainly level because of mobility issues. Checked in. Waited and waited and saw the host take cash from customers without reservations to move groups without reservations to the front or the line. The bar area is small so everyone could hear and see what was happening. We left and went to Mazatlan down the road and were literally treated like family. I need to tell you just how grateful we are !! we ordered a gift card for out daughter and so in law as it was the same day as fathers day. what we didn't realize there was a national holiday that mail was not delivered. well, on Saturday our door bell rings and it was a super gentleman there from Zin, delivering the gift card to us. we don't live close. Great experience! The restaurant itself is stunning with stained glass and plenty of outdoor seating. Our waiter Scott was incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer every question we had on the menu as if he was the cook. Our family went to celebrate but ended up disappointed with the over salting of the food. After reading the comments we were excited to try this place, unfortunately did not have a good experience. The fettuccine pasta had too much sauce making it difficult to enjoy, the salmon on our salad was salted way too much. The chicken piccata had been over seasoned as well. We really wanted to enjoy it but our meals took too long to come to the table as well. 3 kids were served and 15 minutes the adults were served. One chef and a busy restaurant may have been the issue. Disappointing and not sure we would ever go back. read more

Everything about our experience at Zin was lovely. Our meals ( shrimp and scallops) were both delicious with the risotto outstanding. Service was excellent and we appreciated not being rushed as we were two friends who met "half-way" to catch up. We shared the flourless chocolate cake. Yum. Really cute and cozy restaurant right off the main street. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, especially on a cold winter night. You walk right into their bar area and then they have a nice dining area. It was a Friday night so we made reservations and glad we did. We were seated right away and had a very nice waitress. We started off with their crispy cauliflower app which was delicious (my favorite part of the meal) and then I had chicken panna cotta. The sauce was drowning the potatoes and veggies and I thought the chicken was just ok. I would order something else next time. I wish I would have gotten the fish fry, it looked really good. The food came out pretty quick and the service was good but overall not super impressed with the food. Again, a really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and I did like how in the dining room you can see the open kitchen. I would like to come back to try the fish fry. read more

I've eaten at Zin several times over the past few years in small parties and large groups at both lunch and dinner. Generally the food is very good and the staff are friendly if not particularly well trained for fine dining. On my most recent visit, our shared appetizer was delivered without plates to share and it took several minutes to get our servers attention to bring salt and pepper to the table. I'm not sure if the lack of salt and pepper was intentional as we looked around the dining room and none of the tables had salt and pepper on them for diners. After our main entrées arrived, neither our server or management checked in to see how our meals were. We would have enjoyed a dessert, but as no one checked on our table after we finished our entrees, we decided to move on and have dessert someplace else Not a huge deal and we will continue to patronize the restaurant, but we hope they take notice and maybe spend some time setting their wait staff up for success with some updated training. read more

I really want to love this place; it is in Delafield, has outdoor seating and a compelling menu for varying tastes. But after a few tries I find it is not on my go-to places list. The outdoor seating is nice. During nice weather, the tables are first come first serve seating, and during the cooler months, there are igloos with heaters to keep you comfy. This is nice. We (two older women) ordered two dishes on the $18.50 special menu; Chicken Parmesan and Shrimp Concasse. The Shrimp was very tasty but there was so little pasta that there were several shrimp left after the pasta was finished. At least 2x the pasta would have been much more appropriate. The Chicken was served with a very acidic tomato sauce which did not seem to be marinara, but more like uncooked or unseasoned canned tomatoes. The mozzarella on top was two thick slabs of cheese that were neither melted or even warm. The pasta was in alfredo sauce, which completely competed with the tomato sauce. And again, the pasta was very sparse. And there was no offer of a bread appetizer which I would have expected as the norm. We went with high expectations but left feeling like the bill did not represent the food served. A $60 bill (including tip) was too high for a less-than-satisfying meal. read more

Went last night for valentines days. I have been here before and had a good experience but all I can say is. DO NOT GET THE PIZZA! They should warn you that the thin crust is a crappy store bought cardboard crust. Not homemade or authentic in anyway. It was stiff as a cardboard and tasted like cardboard. My buddy and I came for lunch--we arrived at 2 pm so it was not as busy as a traditional meal time and we loved that. The Christmas decor was pretty and our waitress arrived for drinks, questions, and ordering at great times. I got a house side salad before my Cuban sandwich with fries; the house side salad was so good and fresh! I'd have had that for my main meal. My Cuban was great--loved the thing ham and the pickles. Awesome experience! Had the beet salad and my wife had the parmesan encrusted white fish fry. Both were great and the service was attentive. Not a typical deep fried fish fry but a crisp light crust, pan fried and tasty fish. Also tried two signature cocktails that hit the spot. I have to say the first two visits was good but the service wasn't what others have told me. This visit was perfect from start to finish and we were able to sit under the heated dome outside and temps tonight was in the 40's. That made the visit even nicer. Monday is steak special with rib eye and filet as their two steak special with chunky mashed potatoes and sautéed mixed vegetables. Great value on portion to price. My rib eye was $13. The others in my party had the filet. We all thought our steaks were perfect. Good selection of wines. We then had peach cobbler for dessert. Tuesday is fish special and I've been told it is just as good as the Monday special. Service was wonderful. Never intrusive and checked on us at the right times. We were in town for a friend's wedding and decided to get a drink and appetizer here. Man, I'm so glad we did! First off, everything seemed very clean. The staff all wore masks, the bathrooms were clean, and they had hand sanitizer as soon as you walked in. We sat outside on the patio and all of the tables were a good distance away from one another. They had one time use paper menus. We initially came here because we saw a sign for sangria, which sounded perfect on a hot summer day. Once we got the menu though, we decided we needed to try the Blackberry Almond Whiskey Sour first. It was perfect! We love a good craft cocktail! We got our red sangrias after and they did not disappoint. For an appetizer, we wanted something light since we were about to get dressed up for a wedding. We decided on the Ahi Tuna. Man, it was perfect! It had a delicious sesame crust and sat on an awesome seaweed salad. We were on vacation for a week throughout Wisconsin, the UP, and North Shore Minnesota. This was by far the best thing we ate and drank the whole trip! We loved the town as well. read more

This is a lovely spot for outdoor dining, inside has very nice ambiance as well. This was our second visit and sadly the food fell really short this time. Arancini arrived soggy and in a dish full of lettuce and a very thick sauce, like paste, with some crunchy, not crispy, pancetta. Very disappointing at $14 with 3 small soggy balls. Our entrees were hit and miss. Pizza was great and loved the authentic style crust. Crab ravioli was smothered in a cream sauce, canned crab I assume, and although good, the asparagus was chopped so small it was completely lost in the sauce. Spaghetti was really good but if prefer with traditional pasta and not the fettuccine it was served with. The burger was a disaster. Although cooked perfectly, it lacked in flavor and turned into an inedible mess as the bun fell completely apart. The biggest disappointment was the creme brûlée. The sugar crust was only browned in the middle and the custard was runny. Very runny. Service was wonderful and drinks were strong and delicious. I won't be rushing back. read more

Before leaving this review via yelp, we politely expressed our dissatisfaction to the server. And the next day I sent an email to the restaurant. After weeks of no reply or compensation, I have no choice but to leave this review. We were at Zin from 6 pm to 9ish pm on a Wednesday night. The last hour or more was because their system was down and they couldn't figure out how to process our bill for our food and drinks. The three of us sat there waiting for our check without water, or an apology or compensation for our time and inconvenience. And when I notified via email the restaurant of our experience they didn't bother to acknowledge it. Very disappointed. read more

So I have eaten at Zin numerous times. Tonight was not very good. We were seated upstairs and it was so cold I kept my coat on for half an hour, then it finally warmed up. Usually our waters are filled constantly. We had to ask for refills. The water had a very foul taste. I don't know what that was about. We had a larger table, the pizzas were good. The chicken marsala was lacking tonight. Not very much flavor. Tender but bland. Not what I am used to from this restaurant. It was disappointing. read more

This was our first time here and it was interesting. Very busy night and they appeared to be short-staffed. We opted to sit inside which in hindsight wasn't the right choice. Outside was beautiful and serene. Inside was a bit hectic and frenzied. You can see right into the kitchen (open kitchen) and everyone was hustling. I felt like I was watching a show. Our server was practically running. Not very relaxing. Food was hit or miss. We did not enjoy the regular bruschetta appetizer as the bread was really hard. The caesar salad tasted like it was from a ready-made salad bag kit. But my lasagna was delicious! I think it may be my new favorite actually!
