Really good, possibly the best thai food in Vista I've had so far. Portion size is very generous too.

So good! We go here all the time, and they are always willing to mix up the dishes with different noodles. Something hard to find at Thai restaurants. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, we were trying to find a good Thai place, and this is by far the best in North county, and trust me, we went to a LOT. Each dish I've had here has been great! I usually order to go. This time I decided to have an appetizer & soup. It was great and correct. The pregnant lady she was cleaning the tables & took my order. She was great. Later, I order to go & I order sweet sticky rice and the waiter took my order this time. Well, I was really unhappy ones I got home. I got regular sticky rice & that's not what I ordered. I was looking forward dessert. Well, guess what? No dessert & I got stuck 2 two sticky rice now. I think the girl, should be the waitress instead of the guy. On my visit he screwed another tables order & guess who fixed it. The lady. I guess the busgirl should be the waitress instead & not him. I'm still upset cuz I have no dessert & im pregnant. Wow their Pad Thai is the best I've had in California. I'm from LA and I've had lots of Thai food and so far this place blew me away with this dish. My husband I decided to stop by here since we were out and about running errands. First glance the restaurant itself was very presentable. From the moment he opened the door- very clean, spacious, authentic and relaxing. We started with the friend calamari. Came out quite quick for an appetizer. Enjoyable but I don't think it made it into my "this is amazing file". For entrees I had the shrimp Pad Thai and he had the yellow curry. We both asked for #8 spicy. Again, didn't take long for the food to come to our table. Right away the pad Thai lost me. The smell of the egg was overwhelming, the shrimp tasted old and not to mention the noodles were over cooked. The portion of my husband's yellow curry was a joke. A cereal like bowl for a toddler if you would filled mid way with curry. Neither of the entrees seemed to be #8 spicy. Maybe #2. At least the yellow curry was very tasty. Needless to say $40 later.... We will not be returning. read more

My cousin and I weren't familiar with the area but savory Thai was the first non-fast food restaurant to pop up on yelp. When we walked in the place was dead silent. Kind of strange but we were seated quickly and the service was friendly. Ordered cream cheese wontons, chicken Panang curry and shrimp pad Thai. All three were delicious. First time here, and it was delicious! We had the panang curry and the kua noodles and loved them both, good portions for sharing. I always order dishes mild when it's my first time at a Thai restaurant just to be safe, and both were perfect, I may even order medium next time. The layout is nice, we were seated in a cozy booth with cute pillows. 10/10 would savor again! In regards to a negative review I saw on here... why would you feed a 6 year old Thai food? Excellent Thai food. Hubby and I got take-out here twice and both times service was prompt and polite. You can ask for any dish spiced to your taste, so I ordered my curries mild. Even so, the flavors were rich and complex; same goes for the fresh basil beef stir-fry dish hubby got. I wasn't a huge fan of the green papaya salad, but hubby thought it was okay. This is red curry done RIGHT! I ate Thai all the time in Boston- this is my first foray in to Thai in CA. Safe to say, the red curry with chicken absolutely blew my mind. Best I've ever had. I have had the pleasure of eating Thai food all over the world. Savory Thai exceeded my expectations. On my first visit, I ordered my standard benchmarks for Thai food; papaya salad, pad Thai, and a curry. The salad was fresh and had just the right amount of fish sauce. Pad Thai had great flavor and was not over cooked and the curry was excellent. The decor is very pleasant and they never seem busy. I hope it's just my timing because I hope this place stays open. We're visiting from Bangkok and wanted some tastes from home. Stopped in Savory Thai and were pleasantly surprised by everything. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Owners are super friendly and will give you anything you wish. If you are gluten free or Vegan, they will accommodate! My favorite is the green curry, but I have had the pad thai (best around!), the eggplant dish and the spicy noodle dish! Go and try it - the music is soothing and the place is beautiful. read more
