My friend and I had dinner at Savour two nights ago and wow. We were so impressed with the ambience, the decor, the server, the food, the drinks, everything! We haven't been out for a nice meal in a long long loooong time, and I honestly didn't think we'd find such a gem in Tallahassee. The prices are a little high, to be honest, BUT...the food was absolutely delicious, as were the drinks. We shared Honey and Bourbon Burnt Ends appetizer, a filet, and added crispy steak fries, then had the peanut butter pie for desert. I adored the sauce with the Burnt Ends, and the filet was perfectly cooked, with tasty bits of char and it was super tender. The peanut butter pie was SO yummy, and a perfect way to end things. By the end of the meal we were full, relaxed, and very happy to have had a lovely evening out. If you're looking for a nice place for a special evening (birthday, anniversary) you won't be disappointed here. read more

My wife and I stopped in for dinner for our 815pm reservation. Ended up sitting at bar for drinks and dinner. We were greeted by Kim who is an angel and reflects how every restaurant should welcome customers. Victor was the bartender and he provided incredible service (and mixology knowledge). We met the owner Drew who is as delightful as his wife, even though a Gator . The food is terrific, the atmosphere quirky and comfortable, and the service had us going back a couple days later. If there were 6 stars I'd give 6.... my daughter attended FSU and graduated last week. I've been to Tally over the past 4 years and have eaten at many places. My daughter found this place on Yelp and booked it for Grad night. What a gem! Great ambiance and decor.... casual yet elegant. Fully booked and yet able to converse at our table without any noise from other tables. Mitch, our waiter was outstanding! Professional, personable, attentive to our needs without being intrusive. The owner came over and asked if we were celebrating (we were.... our Grad) she came back to our table with champagne in the most beautiful champagne flute! She Wished our grad good luck and told her to enjoy that it was on the house! The food was fantastic! Truly. Amazing flavors blended together perfectly. If you're in Tally, run don't walk. Was very excited to celebrate with my boyfriend and best friend at Tallahassee's only 5 star restaurant but was really disappointed when all of our meals were over cooked. One had fried rice that looked like it came from the frozen section of a grocery store. Service was good and the ambiance was quiet and nice. Would return for wine or something but not for dining. I feel bad that I set the wrong expectations and ruined a really big celebration by choosing this place :/. I travel the country because of my work and I happened to stumble on Savour in Tallahassee and it was a mind-blowing experience. And John of course was my waiter and he was spectacular. I had the chicken dish because I'm on a special diet and it dropped me to my knees it was so delicious. I went back the next night and had two drinks at the bar and was offered a brand new dish that they are just coming up with which is a fried chicken dish. My knees are still quivering. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Savour. The food was really good. I had the grouper and my husband had the sirloin. The fish was cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts that came with the grouper were delicious. We split the dessert, the parfait, and were very pleased with it. The only thing I think was missing was a steak knife. While the steak wasn't really tough, a steak knife would have been nice. We made our reservations today and it appeared there were several parties there, but, the noise level was loud where we were sitting, in the lounge area, and it was difficult to hear sometimes. The service was excellent with all servers very attentive without hovering. All in all though, the dinner was very good and we will definitely be back. read more

I had the red snapper special in court-bouillon with fried oysters. The fish was succulent, perfectly poached in the court-bouillon. The fried oysters were the best fried oysters I've ever had. I am a native of the Mississippi Coast and Chef Brian Knepper knows his Cajun food! Owner Drew McLeod is the best friend you've always wanted and the ambiance of the restaurant has been superbly designed by his wife, Kim. Went for my husband's birthday dinner. The service was excellent, food was impeccable and staff were all incredibly kind! They had a hand written bday card waiting for my husband at our table and offered him a complimentary dessert for his birthday. Went here with my wife for our anniversary. Called ahead to try for a reservation since Open Table showed it was full. Drew McLeod, the owner, took the call and when he learned it was our anniversary he made sure we had a spot. When we arrived we were greeted by Dean, who clearly had made notes about us. He chatted with us for a moment, then led us to a very nicely decorated table set off to the side for some privacy. A rose was placed at the table, as well as a small framed note that read you & me. A very nice touch to start the evening. Our waiter was very nice, and obviously well trained. We started with complimentary champagne, along with a salad and an appetizer of Honey & Bourbon Beef "Burnt Ends". Both was excellent so everything is looking great. My wife chose the bison meatloaf and I selected the flank steak. Both meals were simply delicious! Perfectly cooked and plated. We finished with dessert, with my wife choosing the blueberry lemon bread pudding and I the key lime pie. Again, simply delicious and plated perfectly for appearance. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, and the staff is clearly trained on proper etiquette. All of this led us to decide we were coming back for a return visit well before we finished our meal. Wow, I was thoroughly impressed last night with our meal. I visited Savour for the first time with not very high expectations after mixed reviews from my husband- he dined there a few times several months back and was less than impressed with his meal. Needless to say, last night's meal changed his mind. We were greeted by a charming hostess who immediately recognized a birthday in our group. Were pleasantly surprised by the excellent wine list- including my favorite Belle Gloss (Clark & Telephone) Pinot Noir, which is usually only served by the bottle at most Tallahassee establishments. Our table was wowed by the excellent, fresh blue crab cakes and charcuterie board. I ordered the filet and asparagus. Filet was cooked perfectly, super tender and seasoned just right. My husband ordered the bouillabaisse and was floored by the sauce (his only complaint was there didn't to seem to be much grouper) lots of shrimp and clams though. Our friends also ordered the filet and also the snapper which looked delicious! Our friend received a slice of flourless chocolate cake on the house for her birthday- topped off with a candle (no song, thank goodness!) The cake was to die for. Rich, creamy and delicious! My husband and I split the key lime pie with a homemade graham cracker crust which was also very creamy and perfectly tart. Our server was very attentive, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. This place is incredible and I'm so glad we found it. My fiance and I recently moved to town from Boston and wanted to have a nice early Valentine's Day dinner. Savour delivered. Lisa was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable, and just generally delightful. Cocktails were on point, the wine list is decent and not intimidating, the portions were generous, and the prices are definitely on the higher end for Tallahassee, but certainly appropriate for the quality of the food. We had the filet and the pork chop and they were both cooked to perfection. Lisa talked us into dessert and the key lime pie is some of the best I've had, and I'm a Florida native, so that's saying something. The atmosphere is sophisticated without being snooty and everyone who works there is warm and friendly. Our server, Jenna was amazing. The owners personally welcomed us and checked in during our meal. My husband and I were so excited about trying this restaurant. The evening started off great. The host seated us and he was very charming. All of the staff members were super sweet. The butter and bread they give is absolutely delicious. Outside of that and the macaroni and cheese, the food was a huge disappointment. We were told our meal was being prepared by an executive chef but I highly doubt that. We shared the crab cake appetizer. It was average at best. We both ordered steak for our entrees. It was so tough that it was impossible to slice and chew. They took the steaks away and brought back the beef tips which were also dry and tough. It was a shocking experience to say the least. It honestly hurt because this is the first time I've ever been so disappointed in such a small restaurant. The portion sizes are small and severely overpriced for the quality of food you're given. We will never dine here again and certainly will not recommend this restaurant to our friends, family, and colleagues that ask us for suggestions often. read more
