We visited during their happy hour after arriving into town for a weekend filled with homecoming fun! When we arrived it wasn't too full however most table were already reserved. However, the staff managed to find a table for us. So, make reservations just in case! I ordered the Duck Fries and the Aperol Spritz. Solid choices! The fries were flavorful without being heavy, and the spritz was refreshing, perfect for a light start before heading to our next destination. We came to Charlie park for a late night drink! Super cute location for a roof top bar with a view to all of Tallahassee! The staff was super friendly and we didn't take long to get seated with no reservations. All the options were great for salty and drinks, but not as my any options for dessert and the dessert menu seem like it was a last thought ... maybe not put too much effort on it , wished it was. Beautiful rooftop restaurant at the top of a hotel. It overlooks a nice park area. There is a parking garage adjacent to the building with good parking rates. Visited on a Friday night during FSU move in weekend and it wasn't busy at all. The food was very good and service was good. read more

Charlie Park didn't hit it out the park on my visit. In fact, they struck out so I won't be returning on future visits to Tallahassee nor would I recommend it. Pros: delicious crafted drinks, great host who seated us quickly, and helpful food runner with great customer service. Cons: Everything else that follows here... I went there with my husband and two other friends for some drinks and late night food. We all first ordered drinks and enjoyed those before ordering food. My husband and I ordered the double duck frites. When the food runner went to put the frites on the table, they accidentally knocked over my drink, which spilled onto mine and my husband's legs. The food runner immediately apologized and brought us napkins and towels to wipe off ourselves, the table, and floor. They also said they'd get a replacement beverage and also get a new order of frites in case the drink spilled on them, which they did. We were hungry so we ate the duck frites but they tasted like overcooked Five Guys Cajun fries with the addition of the crema on the side. When our server eventually returned to our table after we cleaned up ourselves, the table and floor, they made no mention they were aware of what transpired. In fact, they simply asked if we wanted anything else and told us to enjoy. It was an example of them not reading the room. A manager never stopped by to acknowledge the accident. When I got the check, I commented to the server that I was hoping an item would be comped due to the situation. Their response was that I got a "free drink" and I corrected them that it was to replace one that was spilled and that it spilled on my husband. This signaled that the server was aware of the incident but never raised it to our table until I brought it up. They said they'd have to check with a manager and I noted that I'd be happy to talk with the manager myself. The manager stopped by the table and asked me which drink was spilled and then walked away. There was no apology, no acknowledgement of the situation, and no check in on how our visit was beyond that. It was odd that they appeared to not be aware of the drink which was spilled since the server acknowledged they knew about it. Accidents happen but how an establishment handles itself speaks more to the situation. In this instance, the most helpful person was the food runner who initiated the chain of events, when I should be able to say it was a shared commitment to excellence beyond that one person who went above and beyond. I won't be returning to Charlie Park but please let me know if the food runner ends up in another Tallahassee establishment as I'll be glad to give them my business. read more

Traveling for work and had low expectations when I saw this was a rooftop bar at a hotel. I was proved wrong - the space is done well the menu is expansive for the category of restaurant. I sat at the bar to finish working and had a great experience with fantastically attentive service. The bartender, Charlie, was slammed with large groups but managed to be attentive and friendly the entire time. His bar backs were also great assets to the restaurant and the bar area was run like a well-oiled machine. Views were great and I loved that the inside area had large windows that open up to the patio. Give the bar staff a raise! read more

This restaurant sits in a little bit of duality. The restaurant itself is upscale and I would refrain from wearing sneakers and jeans, etc. however, the rooftop bar is open and inviting enough that you can be in more casual attire. I say that depending how your address can somewhat determine how comfortable you will feel. There were several dishes that I wanted to try, but I couldn't. We settled for the Caesar salad with Panko, breaded chicken, the duck fat fries, and the lamb lollipops. I am very familiar with this type of fry as there is a pub in my hometown that serves these exact fries. However, they are not doused with seasoning. I caveat this because the seasoning that is used, in my opinion, is one of those things either you're going to like it or not. There is no in between. We happen to like it. Unfortunately, the lamb lollipops was a miss. They were overcooked. The cuts we had also had quite a bit of fat on it. This is a dish that we eat frequently at Capital Grille. My husband makes this dish and is quite the expert. So I share this with no reservation. While I share that the lamb lollipops were a mess it did not stop us from going back again. So please don't let this aspect deter you from all of the other things that are on the menu. They look great. The cocktails were also winner. The bartenders were engaging and great at curating deviations on the cocktail menu. read more

EAT IN THE HOTEL!!!! Save your money. Was really looking forward to dinner at Charlie Park and could not be any more disappointed. Staff are efficient in a kind of indifferent who cares kind of way! The food is pretty fast but I would wait longer for it to be actually good. Upscale gourmet food from a limited menu that has more specialty drinks than food selections! The Pork Lollies, sticky rice waygu, Mini cheese and meat tray, Charlie's Chip were all just pathetic and not well done. While being consistently over priced. Then came the super star " Wagyu Ribeye" ... oh no sorry they forgot to order any for "FRIDAY NIGHT!!" The replacement New York Strip arrived room temperature, swimming in a pool of Demi Glaze on a mound or heavily BBQ Seasoned Frites. Disgusting. The frites has so much seasoning it over powered any chance at flavor the steak had. But here is my best example of why this place is just coasting on it's reputation ... I ordered a smoked old fashion. "OH we don't do them up here because Marriott won't allow us to. Seemed possible since their restaurant was sitting on top of a Marriott Hotel. So after dinner I went down into the hotel to their bar and ordered a smoked old fashion and it arrived delicious and smoking ... I asked the bartender about the Charlie Park policy and was told ... That's bullshit. To which the bar manager came over and asked what had happened and said again "that's bullshit!" Smells like lazy which seemed to be a theme. FYI - the food in the bar looked really good and my only mistake was eating at the wrong restaurant in this hotel. Save your time, money and palette and eat in the hotel and skip Charlie Park's place. read more

Nice spot to have in Tally. Great rooftop views. Ambiance alone gives it a great rating. You can sit inside or outside and still get some nice views. I was there for happy hour and stayed well after the sunset. Happy Hour menu is nothing special, actually didn't order any drinks from it, just the hummus and mini meat and cheese plate. The hummus platter was good and the mini meat & cheese was good to nibble on while chatting over some drinks. Long after HH ended, I opted for the Lamb lollipops. They were good, nothing spectacular. Food stuff was probably a 3.6, drinks were like a 4.5 (responsible prices for Scotch & Wine.) The atmosphere is the big thing here. Nothing like a nice rooftop spot. That's a 4.9. The service was good, not great at times we were looking for our server because our drinks were empty for a little bit. All in all I'd go 5 stars, given there isn't many good options like this in Tally. If you are in town, stop by! Worth it. If you are staying next door at the AC Hotel, no excuse. So this place seems to be hit or miss. I went here for an event and everything was amazing. I came back a couple months later and the food was just ok. Drink wise what I got each time was really great. So I would definitely recommend stopping by for at least a drink. They have an open outdoor area and a long bar. Atmosphere is open and since it's on the top floor you have a view. The service was really good, the food the second time is what brought the score down. read more

We went for brunch on Saturday. I was a little unsure of what to expect after reading mixed reviews, but the people I was with really wanted to try the rooftop with a view. We shared a Brunch Board, one of us had the Butter Benedict, and the other had Steak and Eggs which they both liked - a lot. My daughter was visiting Tallahassee for the first time in seven years. Then, we sat for 25 minutes before water was brought to the table. My husband and I had our wedding dinner reception at Charlie Park. While everything came together in the end, our experience left much to be desired from the communication with the venue leading up to and during our event. This review only describes our the event planning experience, not a casual visit. We rented the lounge area with partial terrance access. Tallahassee is my hometown, I moved away years ago and when it came time to seek a wedding venue Charlie Park stood out because of the aesthetic, which is really nice! When I lived in Tallahassee venues and restaurants like Charlie Park didn't exist. We were so happy to secure the space; then a few challenges came to light... Outreach and communication: Over a year out of planning took place all through email, except when my husband and I reached out to clear up communication via phone. We painfully received much of the information piecemeal requiring us to reach out many times to get any detailed information. The lead staff member we consistently communicated with didn't introduce themselves at our wedding dinner reception. I asked because I recognized their picture from emails. I have planned events and programs for over 15 years in various settings; as a paying client for their services where a 21% gratuity is automatically included, an introduction is the bare minimum. Wedding Cake dilemma: We had a bakery cater our wedding cake. Charlie Park charged a $25 outside dessert storage + service fee, which is expected; the staff said because the bakery didn't leave the original cake box that they couldn't package it for us, however our guests were able to take leftover food to go in boxes. Charlie Park offered to place our cake in foil (I assumed cut and wrapped) but they ended up covering our wedding cake with a big piece of aluminum foil. I am sure no one would expect their wedding cake to just be covered with foil for transport while still on the stand-we certainly didn't. Staff: There was one staff member who walked over and handed us our drink menu, so friendly and on point! Thank you-wish we would've asked their name! Food: Salmon was good 3.5/5 Chicken 2/5 Apps, salad, sides 3.5/5 Overall: Service was agreeable. Communication was there but lack of thorough correspondence left us underwhelmed by the experience. Communication tweaks would make a world of difference with any future client experience! read more

The up-and-coming place to be in Tallahassee! Or so I've heard. Charlie Park is relatively new and it's hip, it's popping, and it has quite a view. Or a view for these parts anyway. You can see into the city. Passed by to have some drinks and watch the sunset. Parking was surprisingly not free as in the majority of the city. Had to park in a garage adjacent to the building where this is. It wasn't even a two-minute walk, though, and upon arrival they let us in, directing us to the elevator to go up for you see that where this is. All the way at the top of the building and hence the views. Prosecco and a lush slush were had for drinks. Decent drinks, pleasant views, but kind of hard to get a waiter's attention at times. Also, overpriced drinks. Felt like I was in a city rather than a college town. They apparently serve food, too, and we contemplated dining there before opting to go somewhere else. Will have to give their food a try sometime. For now, this one is a solid three. read more

This is one of the best local restaurants to open up here in Tallahassee lately. It's Lo acted in Cascades Park which gives it an amazing view. You really have to sit out on the balcony if possible. My wife and I decided to go for date night. I had the Honey in the Highlands drink to start off. We decided to do small plates tonight and we started with an order of the Lobster Bao Buns. They were magnificent! There were large pieces of lobster tail and the buns were warm. The carrots and lettuce on top was nice accent. It also had a good sauce. For our second small plate, we tried the bellies and jellies. I consider myself a pork belly connoisseur and this definitely passed the taste test for me. The pork belly was lean and it was crispy on the ends which I really liked. It reminded me of burn end brisket tips that you would get from a BBQ joint. Also, the ambiance was 10/10. I had a pretty good visit to this establishment. The vibe is nice, the decor is as well. If you want an outside table be sure to reserve well in advance because this is the new hot spot. I wonder how she came to this conclusion and either way she should've just asked what party I was with to remove any preconceived notions/assumptions. Please review the menu before coming. This place is for custom cocktails and small plates. The average price for these cocktails and tapas is about $15. I had an old fashioned and the Mr. Midnight and my bill came to $33. I paid with a $50 and the waitress asked if I needed change. I thought that was funny. She was a pretty good waitress, seemed knowledgeable about the drink menu when I needed some guidance, but a $17 dollar tip...? *insert side-eye* Someone in my party ordered the chips and the lamb burger. The chips were gone by the time I got there, and I didn't get a chance to ask the rest of the party how they were. The lamb burger was a slider cut in half. Three people managed to try it. That was impressive. Two out of three really enjoyed it and one of those two is a chef so that's saying something. Again I really liked the vibe. It felt like an escape from Tallahassee. I love places that make me feel like I'm "out of town." The hostess thanked us for coming as we boarded the elevator, which I appreciated.
