I had never had roti before but believe me when I say it's basically bread from the heavens. The calamari was good too, I really enjoyed the sweet sauce it came with. For dinner my fiancé and I split the drunken noodles with shrimp which was a good portion and very yummy. Then to our surprise they brought us out a free dessert! Best Thai food in the North Coast! Discovered this lovely, quiet, family run place when arriving in Mandeville for a visit. Family members were very warm and welcoming. Started with hot spearmint tea and the avocado roll, which was fresh and flavorful. They happily accommodated our request for lower sodium in the pad thai. Tried this place about 2 weeks ago and had a great experience. We had the Sawasdee roll, Thai basil fried rice with shrimp, Pad See Ewe with tofu, and Tom Yum soup. Everything was delicious and had great flavor. The Thai basil fried rice was exceptionally spicy though (good thing my bf and I love spicy food). Fresh tomatoes, cukes, red onions, greens and Crispy tofu topped with a nice chili sauce. The seafood curry was outstanding. Mussels, shrimp, calamari, scallops and crispy catfish in a delish red curry. Finished with the mango sticky rice. Freshest and tastiest mango and strawberry we've had in a while. Sawasdee is far and away our favorite restaurant in Mandeville. Admittedly after a long career in food I can be pretty picky but the fresh, consistently well prepared dishes and the genuinely welcoming, spotlessly professional service have never disappointed. Whether it's just two of us hoping to pop in for a quick midweek meal or the times we've taken a group of guests anticipating the fun of a large variety of dishes the results have been equally excellent. Our only challenge is to not order more than we can eat, as over the years we have acquired so many menu favorites...a good problem! Try the perfectly fried tofu Golden Nuggets (we add extra chili sauce) or Coconut Shrimp, Vegetable Spring Rolls, ANY of the curries, the Pad See Ew or Spicy Eggplant and Basil...or chose a new favorite. I have been hurting for delicious Asian cuisine and was bored of some of the better Asian restaurants around. Decided to try sawasadee even though it's a bit farther. The interior of the restaurant is quite pretty with authentic decorations around. My toddler especially loved the good luck porcelain cat that waved his paws and the cat salt and pepper shakers.
