I come here pretty often and it never disappoints. The food is phenomenal; honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their curries. The red curry is my go-to, and I always ask them to crank up the heat a bit, which they do perfectly. Quick update because i ate here the other day. The thing to do is to remember when you're gonna be on that stretch of 150 in Covington. And if you're gonna be there during the lunchtime or the dinner time, plan to pick up the food. That's how I think I have to do this moving forward. The food was fresh and tasty; the portions were good, and the service very good. My sister had pad Thai which she enjoyed. I had stir fried vegetables with steamed fish, and enjoyed it as well. Our teas ( both hot and cold ) were refilled and lunch was preceded by a small cup of soup and two wontons. There is plenty of parking, and the host was very welcoming. Got there just before 7. Ordered two orders of wantons.. this were the best have ever had. Could taste the filling.. the sauce was fantastic. My grandson ate at least 5 of them. He doesn't eat anything. I got the Golden Duck -- with sauce on the side level 3. This was fantastic. WOW! I had the best dish as per my DiL, and she tasted everything. I love Thai food. I lived in NW Arkansas for a year where Thai food was surprisingly abundant. I even travelled to Thailand in 2012. I accidentally stumbled upon this place while needing a quick lunch while working. I have to say this is one of the top 5 Thai places I've ever been too. Small and not a 10 on atmosphere but for a little hole in the wall - it has great prices, great taste and the owner even serves you! Woah! Hands down one of the best Thai food dives on the Northshore! Flavor packed Pad Thai in an above average portion. If you like spicy foods, don't be afraid to get the 5/5 spice and if you are brave like me, request some more chili peppers on the side to raise the heat even more. The shrimp were plentiful, large, and tail on which added a nice crunch to the dish besides the peanuts. The sauce was possibly the best Pad Thai sauce I've ever tried, very good! Absolutely solid Thai food on the Northshore. I've only eaten here for lunch, so I can't comment on the dinner menu. Their lunch menu is short, with popular sauces and curries you would see at any mainstream Thai place. 1) Pick your protein 2) pick your sauce and 3) pick your spice level from 1-5. All the offerings are great. My usual go-to's are the pad thai, basil sauce, red curry, and panang curry. Most days, I forget to add a spice level to it. Some days, I'll go with 4, which is a healthy but tolerable spice level for me. The service is top notch, it's the same staff during lunch hours. Since a lot of the lunch crowd is from the nearby office buildings, their service is quick. Seating can be limited if you get there after 11:30am. Overall, great lunch spot and worth checking out. read more

I have eaten Thai food all over the country and must say this place is truly a gem! It is a small, family run restaurant with authentic recipes and ingredients as well as superb customer service! Bobby and his family go above and beyond to provide their customers with outstanding service as well as amazing food at a very reasonable price. I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. In fact I have been eating here almost every day for two weeks straight during my stay, working out of town. Rakong Thai was close to my hotel, and had great reviews (albeit only a few because they are brand new), so i popped in for dinner. The portions are huge, the service is super friendly, and if you like spicy they can make it SPICY! I had the Pad Thai - a classic, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Ha! I cannot say enough awesome things about this place. It is by far the best Thai around. After the first day of trying this place, my wife and I ended up going there another 6 days in a row for lunch; and I'm far from the kind of person that eats the same place more than a day in a row. The Pad Thai here is hands down the best I've ever had. Shrimp are always cooked to perfection; never over cooked. Oh and did I mention the Golden Duck with the chili sauce? AMAZING. There are so many things I could go on about, the red curry, the steamed dumplings, the garlic stir fry, all the best I've had around here. I would eat here again in a minute. This is not 'fast food Asian'. Food is very fresh and prepared to order by the Mom. The son ran the dining room. Everything was very clean and efficient. The Nam Sod was different than other Thai places, as was the Basil Saute chicken. I would like to say it is more authentic but I have never been to Bangkok :) I can not recommend the Volcano Chicken unless you are a General Tsao chicken fan. My fav is the Tiger Tears; tender strips of marinated Steak over herbs and lettuce! We plan to return and try the Curries! read more
