Chicken Satay Supenn's Fresh Spring Rolls

I will forever be a Sawatdee super fan! Every location is great, but my favorite is Maple Grove! The staff have always been friendly and quick and the food is served fresh with efficiency! My family and I have been going to Sawatdee since I was a kid, I've tried many items from their menu, my go to is always the chicken satay (with the peanut sauce AND cucumber sauce), the fresh veggie spring rolls, also dipped in the cucumber sauce, the Pad Thai, Pad see Yew, or Spicy Noodles! The red curry chicken is amazing as well as the massaman curry! I cannot recommend Sawatdee enough! Their "Thai for Two" Tuesday special is a great deal!

My second time trying this place and it was as disappointing as I remember. My friend and I met for an early dinner around 4. She ordered a Blackberry mojito. It was happy hour and they were already out of Mint. There was only one other table of people there besides us. I ordered the Catfish curry and was told they were out of Catfish as well. Our server suggested the Salmon curry so I decided to give it a try. I was very disappointed with the dish. The Salmon tasted like it was sitting in the freezer for a long time. I will give 4 stars for service eventhough the food was not great. Our server was very friendly and nice. Sorry to say I will not be returning.

Amazing fresh Thai food! We opted for lunch specials because we didn't want to overeat, but ended up bringing some home anyway (good portions!). This was our first visit to the Maple Grove location of Sawatdee so parking was a challenge until we discovered parking behind the buildings. Great service today from Michael, especially keeping our water glasses full when eating the spicy entrees.

Got takeout order. Tried the cream cheese wontons, which were good. The sauce to go on the wontons was too runny. Tried lemongrass pasta with chicken, spice level 2. I would only get level 1 spice in the future. Don't recommend the dish as it was laden with greasy sauce. The portion for the lemongrass pasta was large.

This is the first time I have tried Sawatdee. A Maple Grove friend recommended this establishment and we were both pleased. We had choice of a lunch menu available weekday afternoons. I ordered the cashew stir-fry because I love water-chestnuts and it was very good at a decent price. The establishment has low lighting, music, and interesting decorative pieces throughout. And the staff was service oriented checking on us several times. Parking was very easy.

Did you know that Sawatdee has an amazing happy hour?!? This is my favorite time to go. My hubby and I snuck away for some appetizers and only paid $20 for 3 apps! - Fresh spring rolls are one of my favorite things! Their dipping sauce makes this so amazing. Sawatdee was the first Thai restaurant I had when I was in elementary school and it has started in my memories for all these years. The consistency and flavors are the same as what I remembered. - Chicken Satay - Yummy yum! The chicken has such an scrumptious marinade and those dipping sauces... yes! Good as usual - Sarong Sawatdee Special- crispy noodle balls surrounding a peppering chicken ball center. Dip them in the sweet chili sauce... or dunk in the fresh spring roll sauce. Both are great! I'm actually craving these again! I've never had anything like them and I can't stop thinking about them. Yums! Thanks for an epic happy hour! We will be back soon. Sad that people are writing negative comments due to needing more staff. It will get better! Thanks again!

Ordered vegetarian Pad Thai and vegetarian Supenn's Fresh Spring Rolls through GrubHub, and when they arrived both were wrong. The spring rolls came with shrimp and chicken in them and I was able to get a refund through GH. I started eating the Pad Thai and realized a few bites in that there was chicken hidden within the noodles. I couldn't submit another help ticket, so I'm stuck with $25 worth of food I can't even eat. When Sawatdee gets the order right, the food is delicious - but at this point it just isn't worth the risk, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. More often than not, your order will not be correct. Edited to add: The last time I had an issue like this, I called the store for resolution - all they said was "sorry, it won't happen again" and no offer to make it right.

We were in the area and stopped here for lunch. It was a disappointing dining experience. The place was quiet, not very busy. The server was nice, but not very attentive. We had to wave someone down for water refills. Never checked on us after food was delivered. Had to go find him to get boxes and our bill. We ordered the fried springrolls, the duck, wonton soup, stuffed wings, and pad see ew. It took a loonnggg time for food to come out. Springrolls- came out warm, not hot. Not crunchy like I had expected. Duck- overcooked and tough. Came with a side of jalapeño soysauce. Just salty, no depth of flavor. It was a sad looking duck. :( Wonton soup- lukewarm, soggy wontons. Just kind of just disintegrated in my mouth. Wings- meh. Pad see ew- beef was tough, very chewy. Dish was lacking that smoky flavor I look for in a good fried noodle dish. Just soy sauce. On everything. Overall, poor food quality. Really missing all the components and flavors of good Thai dishes.

They're clearly understaffed. They have a sign stating this & a robot delivers your food. I'm understanding of this. But to never check on the table after the robot delivers the food isn't great either. We couldn't get water refills until our check was brought to the table & there was only about 6-8 tables occupied. The robot needs some kinks worked out as well. Twice we heard giant crashes of dishes onto the floor. I think it has issues going from carpet to tile. As for the food, the spring rolls are delicious. Pad Thai was good. Cashew stir fry was predominantly water chestnuts. I ordered as a spice level 2, and the spice was virtually non existent. Probably opt for something different next time.

I tried to order online And the sushi menu wasn't on so I went in to order take out. I was told that part of the restaurant wasn't open--but it was within the time they should be open--granted it was close, so no big deal on that. I wanted sashimi and that is all. When I ordered I said the reddest tuna you have, hamachi and salmon. I asked for yuzu they had no idea what it was. Not that big of a deal but when I got my order I was disappointed. I asked the server I ordered from just for reference how much sashimi would there have been on the sashimi platter And they didn't know the answer. Menu said chefs Selection of 5 types of fish...and would be served with miso for the platter...server didn't suggest the platter--just an order taker who didn't even know the menu or the fish. My receipt say albacore...not a very red tuna...No thanks. See picture---I'd pass up this place. There was zero presentation...and I had to ask for things I had already ordered when I put in my order. While I was waiting for my order the only table in the restaurant had to get up and ask for two sets of chopsticks...

Shrimp & Scallops in Garlic Sauce

Still not one of my favorites for Thai food. Decided to give them a try after many years avoiding them based on previous poor experiences with service. This visit didn't do much to change my mind. No service problems, but the food is just ok and the space is pretty boring. We started with Egg Rolls (meh) and the Sarong Sawatdee Special which is ground chicken wrapped in noodles and deep fried. It used to be a tightly wrapped ball, but this time was more spread out. The result is that it all fell apart when you tried to cut into it so that we ended up with a huge pile of fried noodles on the plate when we were done. My wife had the Shrimp & Scallops in Gralic Sauce which she always gets and continues to like. There's a good amount of seafood in the dish. I had the Shrimp Pad Thai and found it to be overly sweet and drowning in sauce. I'm not going to rush back.

Tasty Thai available in Maple Grove. It is generally cold in the restaurant so I'd recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater.

It's a small thing, but drinking flat syrup really sets a bad tone for the rest of the meal. We also tried the Bulgogi Fries. They were fine, I guess, but definitely not worth what they're charging. They are way overpriced for what you actually get. The food didn't get much better from there: Chicken Fried Rice: This was extremely "normal." There wasn't anything special about it, but for some reason, it had a weird hit of sugar in it that shouldn't have been there. Japchae: This was the real disaster. Japchae is not supposed to be sweet, but this version was sugary and cloying. It was honestly the grossest japchae I've ever had, and I've been eating that dish my entire life. Ultimately, the whole meal just felt like an exercise in late-stage capitalism: mass-produced, overpriced, oversugared and poor quality. People really shouldn't be eating this kind of food.
