Went to Sawgrass gentle dentistry today for a cleaning and evaluation. Let's just say I am beyond pleased. The front desk staff was super sweet and helpful. I was seen immediately after I finished my paperwork. The hygienist was great. Dr. Coty was such a sweetheart, she helped me understand what was going on with my teeth and what I can do to avoid future dental problems. I even got a WHITENING PEN! Dr. Coty Rappaccioli Sawgrass Gentle Dentistry I tried Dr. Coty Rappaccioli @ Sawgrass Gentle Dentistry and couldn't ever get it to work. Dr. Coty Rappaccioli was a very abrasive woman. I requested her to fix a gold dental onlay that had broken off and she refused. She said she could do a crown, which her price was above market so I ended up waiting. It seemed like a simple process but I wrote it off. Then the next appointment was prepaid which I'm still not sure why I went ahead and prepaid. What dentist ever ask for money in advance? Then I noticed Dr. Coty Rappaccioli had trouble keeping her staff. She made a mistake by lecturing me about my lifestyle. She always seemed very judgmental I guess because I am a smoker. Bottom line is I don't want to be lectured, I'm not paying you for an opinion but a service. Every office visit I asked for a toothbrush and some toothpaste before I went back to the chair and they never had this in stock. My very last procedure which she said was a complicated extraction, she ended up backing out of it 2 minutes before it was supposed to happen (literally as I was sitting in the chair). She took my blood pressure which was a bit high and I explained I suffered a bit of anxiety with dr.s and dentist. This brought me back to square (A) finding someone more competent to perform this procedure. Ultimately Sawgrass Gentle Dentistry did end up refunding me for the work they didn't do a couple of days later. I found an oral surgeon that was in a large practice in south Miami and he ended up being less expensive and amazing. I wished I could had given her less than one star but that's the lowest it allowed. read more

Dr. Coty and her staff are amazing. Very professional, clean, organized environment. Dr Coty walks through the procedure with you and makes you feel comfortable. I'm very satisfied with the office and happy I found it since moving here. read more

I took my 5 year old son to here and he had 2 big cavities. Fortunately he's 5 and only has problems with his temporary teeth. But this dentist was recommending 3 teeth be pulled and a root canal for this 5 year old! No way!, I walked out and said see ya! Lousy dentist who doesn't know what she's talking about. Should have her license revoked. We took him to another one in Ft Lauderdale and had one tooth pulled and no other problems. Dont take your kids here, she will guess what they need done without any profession knowledge. Also, drives me nuts that she and her staff barely speak english. read more

I changed to Sawgrass Gentle Dentistry as a result of insurance change. The staff was helpful and courteous. Office procedure dictated an excessive amount of x-rays. I was subjected to panoramic, bitewing, and intraoral periapical x-rays. This was an excessive amount of x-rays. I suspect that that they were not necessary. My previous dentist only took panoramic and bitewing x-rays every two years. My second reason is that my insurance coverage was supposed to provide two free cleanings per year. This Dentist changed the cleaning procedure to a periodontal maintenance procedure. This procedure is not covered by insurance.. For these reasons I will be returning to my previous Dentist, even without insurance coverage. read more

Very unprofessional dentist (started to ask me personal questions not necessary for treatment), she was unable to answer simple questions about the condition of the teeth (all I got was "maybe' and 'not sure'). She tried to overcharge me and the insurance for unnecessary procedures (had the treatment done in 24h with a differently dentist with 100% insurance coverage instead of hundreds of $$$ she tried to charge me in addition to the insurance). She seemed to be more concerned not to be reported to the medical board then doing her job. Stay away from this unprofessional dentist!! read more

I love this plaza and knowing that there is now a dentist in it puts it all in one place for me- LA Fitness and Starbucks are my morning routines- The entrance to the second floor is on the SIDE street between FedEX and United bank. -It took me a while to figure this out. Dental patients have reserved parking spots in the back which makes it easy because the parking lot facing Sunrise Blvd gets full. The staff is very welcoming and professional. The dentist is very gentle and painless. I had not surprises about how much my treatment was going to be. Everything was explained to me. They make you feel very comfortable and at ease. I have been looking for a dentist forever. I am petrified of going to the dentist. I went years without seeing a dentist. When I finally found this office. I have been to the dentist to check myself up and for any issue I have had more often in the last three years than in my entire life. The people that work there and the Dr. Are amazing. I had a tooth with a huge cavity and two other dentists told me I needed to pull it and get an implant. I did not want to loose my own tooth. My cousin told me to see Dr. Coty. She fixed my tooth and I am so great full that I did not lose it. She is very understanding and took great care of me. I was also appreciative that her shots don't hurt that is why I was able to fix my tooth because I hate shots. Her office staff is very helpful too. They explained how my insurance worked. The only drawback Is that they don't open on Saturday's. read more

When I first called to make an appointment for a second opinion, the receptionists (Gigi and Maria, I spoke with both) were all too happy to accommodate. Due to my insurance, I had to switch dentists, which I did. The receptionists said I had to have my xrays emailed over to them. I went to my current dentist, signed a release, and xrays were sent, and confirmed received. The day of my appointment, I am told "We don't do second opinions." They couldn't find my xrays which had been confirmed a week prior, and they claimed they had to take full mouth xrays, plus panoramic, plus bitewings...and by the way when was you last cleaning, and the dentist can't see you unless she does a full exam. After being lied to, I told them I did not feel comfortable in that place, and cancelled the appointment. Talking to others, I find out that someone else had an even worse experience than me, and ended up paying for all those xrays. As it stands, I have never heard of anyone in need of full mouth, panoramic, AND bitewings, all in one visit! Had they seen me as agreed, and given an honest appraisal of my teeth, they would have had a customer for life, and a much better review on Yelp! read more

WHOSE NEEDS ARE BEING MET? SHOULD THE PATIENT HAVE SOME REASONABLE CHOICE OVER WHAT'S DONE TO HIS/HER BODY? NOT SO AT SOME DENTISTS'OFFICES, WHERE THEY APPARENTLY PUT THEIR OWN INTERESTS ($$) AHEAD OF YOUR ACTUAL DENTAL NEEDS. I recently had a new-patient appointment with dentist Coty Rappacciolli, DMD in Sunrise, FL. I'd previously stopped into the office, spoken with the receptionist, and also emailed my most recent xrays: BWs from a year ago, and FMX (full mouth xrays) from 2 years ago. As a very diligent dental patient,with excellent home care, no problems, and very regular professional care, I scheduled for a new-patient exam with the doctor plus a routine 6-month prophy (cleaning). I should have been more wary, when I asked the receptionist how often the doctor routinely takes xrays, and she said "whatever your insurance will cover." (Hmmm... consistent with that thinking, since "insurance will cover" crowns & root canals, DOES THIS DOCTOR ALSO PUSH CROWNS & ROOT CANALS, WHETHER OR NOT THE PATIENT NEEDS THEM TOO?) NOTE: the ADA does NOT make specific interval recommendations for repeating xrays, but instead suggests decision be made INDIVIDUALLY APPROPRIATE TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THAT PATIENT.The norm for retaking of FMX is about 5 years, but Dr. Rappacciolli was PUSHING them @ 2 years - without ever having seen the patient's mouth - and against the patient's expressed wishes. I compromised, - at the front desk, with the doctor directly, - to getting 4 new BWs only + exam + prophy. Then twice this doctor prepared a "treatment plan" for me to sign(STILL having not examined me in her dental chair at all), ADDING INAPPROPRIATE, UNNEEDED & UNWANTED SERVICES to a bill I was expected to sign off on (BEFORE BEING SEEN by any dental professional.) Apparently "forgetting" about our agreement, she added a panorex (very limited diagnostic value, and per ADA code NOT to be used as a substitute for FMX, - which weren't needed at this time anyway). She also added more PAs, and used another inappropriate coding for "limited eval" (ADA code = "problem focused", - BUT there was NO dental problem.) THE CLEAR PROBLEM WAS REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO MANIPULATE CODES & REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO FORCE UNWANTED & UNNEEDED SERVICES (DESPITE OUR DIRECT, FACE-TO-FACE AGREEMENT OF JUST MINUTES AGO), - HAVING NEVER EVEN SEEN THE PATIENT'S DENTAL CONDITION AT ALL. BEWARE: it's not YOUR interests that are in the forefront here. When the doctor realized that she'd failed in her 2nd attempt to FORCE MORE SERVICES ($$) ON ME, AGAIN,despite our in-person agreement of minutes earlier, she had the receptionist come out to tell me she wouldn't see me at all, totally wasting my time.
