Love the nostalgia of Sawyer and Company. It took me back as a child from the 80's going to a restaurant that had a feel of the late 60's/70's once you come in. The food here is fantastic and the music played over the speakers was very humbling and mellow and matched the feel of the restaurant. Will definitely come back soon to try the rest of their dishes!

    Food Two Egg Breakfast

We went as a group of 7. For the most part we all enjoyed our main dish apart from the mac and cheese which tasted expired. I had gotten the two egg breakfast and was surprised by how big the portions were. We were sat outside after a 45 min wait which was expected since it's a small place. My first issue was that we wernt given any ice just a carafe of water. Server arrived 5-10mins after being sat very neutral service. At the end we were charged on the handheld device separate checks and upon asking if auto grad was included he stated it was NOT, well we tipped 20%. Later doing the math realized he lied and that's why he all of a sudden became chipper.Management needs to make sure there servers aren't scamming people!!! Very disappointed as we are from out of town and won't be able to go in person to speak to management

My company ordered lunch form this place for a pick up. I had Salmon Benedict. The description on Toast app was absent so I had no idea it was served on a hashbrown until I go it. Which I wouldn't order if I knew. The sauce tasted a little weird, left a strong aftertaste. I was a bit concerned so i didn't finish my food. I stated feeling a tad queasy a couple hours after. My drink was not what I ordered - Amethyst Matcha on Oat. It looks and tastes like espresso and on regular milk. I cannot this amount of milk. :/ aaaaand they give you paper straws with drinks, which is a big no-no for me, there are plenty of eco-friendly options on the market these days to not let your customers drink from a soggy paper straw (had to reuse one from my previous drinks).

I kept seeing Sawyer & Co on social media so when in Austin we decided to try it for breakfast. A lot of people mention long wait times but we must have gone at a good hour because we got seated right away even though it was Formula One weekend. On our way out we did see a line forming so I guess we got lucky. The food was good, nothing that really blew me away, just classic diner food which makes sense because it is a diner. What I will say is the service was great. Our waitress was really nice and the staff kept checking on us to make sure everything was good which I appreciated. Overall it was a fine experience and I understand why people enjoy it, especially if you arrive at the right time.

Came to Sawyer & Co for brunch this morning with my hubby and first of all, felt like I was being transported back in time with the decor. Very retro diner vibes with hints of modern day designs. Super cute. For the meal - they had a daily special running for blueberry lavender matchas and blueberry lavender lattes so I ended up snagging the matcha and it was very very good (I opted for iced). I ordered the Lost Bread (aka French toast) with a side of bacon and my husband ordered the breakfast biscuit with the strawberry compote that accompanies the pancakes. Super obsessed with the approach of the French bread because it was actually made with....French bread. (As opposed to regular toast) I got a bite of my husband's breakfast biscuit and the biscuit was perfection. We're looking forward to coming back for lunch!

Waffle was stunning, crispy great texture, fresh fruit and cream what more could you want. ALSO GUYS i was truly so blown away that the table syrup they served it with was REAL MAPLE SYRUP, i of course noticed immediately and was flabbergasted, this is such an impressive nice touch i never have been to a restaraunt that does this??? Huge huge props i was overjoyed. Gaston breakfast scramble was so good, great flavor and portion, amazing with sourdough and yummy (but under-seasoned) potatoes. Very tasty pie too. Service was great and the people are so nice! Easy 5 star review, highly recommend I love sawyer & co!!

Randomly went here for happy hour and enjoyed everything! We went on National Tequila Day because they had advertised specials, however the staff didn't know about it. We ended up getting discounted happy hour cocktails that did not have tequila in them. Both drinks we ordered were delicious! This cute little diner had great cocktails. We ordered a burger with fries and some type of roasted veggie grits bowl. Everything was delicious and prices were so reasonable. We will definitely be back for breakfast or brunch soon. We came on scooters so I'm not sure if there is parking, but it's located right next to De Nada tacos.

Definitely for breakfast. I could also make this to be a very good lunch spot as well. Brunch it is. WITH A BAR!!! Very nostalgic. Very interesting decor. Retro style throughout and a huge patio. Service staff were all very cool. The best breakfast treat of our 7000 mile journey. Do eat here! CritDicks

How are you going to be a breakfast place, serving "coffee on the go daily....espresso, cappuccino, latte" but not open until 9am? What is that? People need coffee and breakfast in the morning, you know when real people wake up, 6/7 am. Imagine being the owner of this place. "I'm gonna open up a breakfast place that opens at 9am." Yikes. Completely devastating.

This place is super cute. Plenty of seating. And they serve alcohol SUPER EARLY. Came in on a Friday morning around 10am and We didn't have a wait. The food takes a while to come out. Service was great, everyone was attentive. I got the chicken biscuit, the biscuit was delicioussssss my friend got the two egg breakfast with a side of pancakes, and two coffees for $32 (with tip)

1145 on Sunday is the absolute worst time to go to Sawyer & Co for brunch. So we went. At least my friend had made a reservation, but we still had to wait a little while among the hungry hordes. Our server was genial but frazzled. He seemed puzzled when my friend asked her eggs be "soft-scrambled." Or, more likely, unsure of how to enter that on his order-taking device. The eggs arrived well done and she rolled her eyes, pushing them aside. She just shrugs it off because she's a better person than I am, and never ever sends food back. She said everything else was good. I ordered the simplest 2-egg breakfast, and it was delicious. The over-easy eggs golden-yoked and runny, the biscuit a fluffy delight, the Brabant potatoes heavenly creamy, and the bacon perfect. The former site of Arkies has been redone in cool funky retro. Even the Washroom is charming. One of these days. I gotta get back for a nice peaceful lunch.

ok I've gone a few times now and feel confident in this review. The service is always impeccable, and the food is wonderful. I would honestly give this a 3.5/5 -- the drinks are "meh" and a little over priced, and some of the food portions are small for the price. Otherwise, the place is always clean, the people are always kind and the food is always cooked well.

We came here for my friend's bachelorette brunch. They had plenty of seating available both indoor and outdoor so no problem sitting a large group. Our server was amazing and offered great suggestions. I went with the Chicken and Pancakes and it was delicious. I loved the vanilla butter that comes on top really added to the dish. I also got the Hugo spritz which was made perfectly. I will definitely be back as I enjoyed everything we had!!

I ordered the migas, and the amount of onions in the dish was overwhelming--so much so that it felt like I had ordered a plate of onions rather than migas. The masa cakes were definitely the standout item and were absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the dish fell short. The sauce was extremely rich, making it difficult to enjoy or finish the meal. That said, the restaurant itself is adorable, and our waiter was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were both great. While this breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I'll still return and stick with favorites like the fried green tomatoes and taquito salad, which were excellent during my previous visit.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. My daughter and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken, and she substituted the collard greens for mac and cheese. The sausage gravy served with the chicken fried chicken was a little unexpected, but I actually enjoyed the subtle kick of spice it had. The collard greens weren't for me, but that's more of a personal preference since I've never been a fan. The mac and cheese, however, felt like it was missing something. Maybe it was the blend of cheeses, but it wasn't the classic, ooey-gooey diner-style mac and cheese we were hoping for. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles had a fermented aroma and tangy flavor that caught us off guard. After speaking with the manager, she explained that they're made with a sourdough batter. While that may appeal to some people, it just wasn't his favorite. Overall, we had a good experience thanks to the outstanding service and welcoming atmosphere. The food simply didn't match our personal tastes. That said, the restaurant was absolutely packed, so they're clearly doing something right. I would still recommend giving 24 Diner a try because everyone's palate is different, and their unique flavors may be exactly what you're looking for.

The hummus wasn't bad per se, just the combination of flavors didn't work for me. That's a me thing. Someone else might dig it. My lady ordered the chicken and waffles. She said it wasn't bad, the chicken was juicy. I had the abomination that was the sweet potato hash. The eggs were ordered over medium. Fruit was the side. The eggs were cooked over well, way over well. Ok. Things happen. The hash was not fresh at all. Really quite soggy. Ok, so guessing it may have been cooked a day or two prior to ordering. Not well prepared, but not the end of the world, right? Here's the thing: there was an unmistakable flavor of rubber and/or plastic. This was the predominant flavor. I simply couldn't eat it. Maybe a wrapper or some other foreign item was inadvertently added. The small dish of watermelon, strawberry and pineapple was ok. This, with tip, was $65.00 just had water to drink. Wonder if they used to be good and have just fallen off, but IMHO not worth it at all.

My beautiful girlfriend, traveling home from Vancouver, had a morning layover in Austin just recently on a weekday, and I got us a reservation to Paperboy East. Compared to the weekends, their schedule was a lot more open. On the weekends it can be nearly impossible to get a spot unless it's a few weeks in advance. We had a reservation at 8 am right when they opened, and when we walked in, we were seated immediately. The place looks like a modern twist on the old-school diners your grandparents love. There's also an upstairs and downstairs patio. Plenty of space! We were sat at one of the two-person tables. To start, I ordered their house drip coffee while my girlfriend got their "Lil Remi," an iced cappuccino with salted caramel. The black coffee was excellent and flavorful, while my girlfriend thought her Lil Remi was like a milkier shaken espresso that she really liked. From their starters, we ordered their Blueberry Lemon Pop Tart to share. I am a sucker for a homemade Pop Tart, and the jam on the inside was extremely fresh, and the icing and crust of the Pop Tart itself was sturdy and full of flavor. For our entrees, I ordered their Texas Hash with added avocado while my girlfriend ordered their famous Paperboy Pancake with chocolate chips as a full breakfast with bacon and two over-hard eggs. It wasn't a long wait at all to get our food. The Texas hash looked great and was presented quite nicely, which is a shame because I immediately proceeded to mash it all together to make sure every bite had a perfect balance of the roasted pork, sweet potatoes, egg, and avocado. It was very filling and substantial, which is great because I needed it to last me up to dinner. The pancake is the star of the show and is worth the order alone. The flying saucer they serve rises like a cake in the oven and is extremely fluffy. She was surprised with how it was a traditional pancake but loved how moist it was for its size. A perfect pancake to her. A perfect pancake to me because she couldn't finish it, so I took it to go and ate the last few bites immediately after dropping her off at the airport. For being an upscale diner in the prime area of Austin, I knew Paperboy was going to be pricey, but I honestly thought that it would crack $100 before tip between the two of us. I was very happy to see it was not even close to that and cost us about $80 with tip. To me, that felt fair for Austin, and I would pay that price any day of the week for a breakfast like we had. I've had a few of the locally owned brunch and breakfast spots in Austin and concur with the masses that this sits strongly at the top of the list. Best pancakes, best atmosphere, and the best times. The ambiance in here is warm and inviting, there is a lot of natural light in here. It did get a little hot sitting at the table near the door but otherwise it felt nice in here. I had some parts where I felt like I was eating chicken jerky but the flavor was nice. I enjoyed the hot honey sauce on the chicken. The biscuit was harder than I expected it to be. Overall the food here was fine, a bit on the pricier side. Also, the parking here is limited as it is all street parking in an alley.
