    The Italian Panini Absolutely delicious

If you have never been to Mary's Café off of Red River near Saint David's, you need to run not walk!! Their food is absolutely delicious. Made fresh to order and with lots of love.

Came on a Wednesday afternoon, and they weren't too busy. More people for take-out. Service was quick, and the workers are super kind! They have some bar seating to look out the window, but otherwise not the largest place. Very homey! Turkey & Bacon Panini (7.5/10) - Delicious! Their bread is soooo good. Super crunch, warm, and not too heavy. Definitely hits the spot - Although this item is slightly on the more expensive side ($10.99) and doesn't have any chips/fries or sides (a small slice of watermelon), overall a good quick, light bite Mary Street Waffles (10/10) - Cinnamon waffles, so soft, yet still retained its crunch on the outside - $8!!!! This is super reasonable for such a delicious waffle! - Will definitely come back for this, definitely recommend to others

Oh my gosh can you say YUM! This little hole in the wall place was a random pick after going to the urgent care next door and boy am I glad I stopped by. I got the BAT bagel sandwich and my goodness that thing was SO GOOD. I had to pull over in a random parking lot on my way home so I could demolish half the bagel lol. It was so yummy! I got the build your own waffle as well with chocolate chips and it was delish as well! I already want to go back and get more hehe. I would say the price for the waffle was a little high considering the size, but the taste is so good I would buy more. Service was extremely quick and the guys were super nice. Can't wait to go back

Food: The eggs were slightly overcooked, but they still had great flavor. The chai latte was delicious, and the waffle was decent. Service: There wasn't much service interaction but they were very nice at the cashier's. Ambiance: It can get a bit too loud inside for a relaxed conversation, but chatting is still manageable. It's a nice spot for a date outside of rush hours, though it may not be ideal for groups larger than four. The decor is stylish and adds to the vibe. Price: Reasonable and fair for the quality offered.

Mary's Cafe is a hidden gem in Austin that totally won us over! From the moment we walked in, we loved the fun, quirky 50s vibe. Lots of bright colors, retro decor, and a super welcoming atmosphere. There is a fun gallery wall with famous people and characters named Mary. We ordered a gluten-free bacon, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich, a berry waffle, an iced coffee, and a chai latte. Everything was delicious! The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, the waffle was bursting with fresh berry flavor, and both drinks were spot on especially the chai, which had just the right amount of spice. Service was fast, the prices were very reasonable, and the whole experience was just easy and enjoyable

SUCH a yummy bagel! Great vibes, love the wall art, good & quick service. Great place to go whether you're looking to sit down for a while or just grab and go before class (the proximity to UT campus is a plus!).

Love there bagel sandwiches they're so delicious are always filling. But this time I wanted to try their broccoli and cheddar soup. Didn't like it was different from what I'm use to is was kind of grainy. If you like this kind of soup you might like it but I'm use to broccoli and cheddar with a smooth base with chunks of broccoli and carrot.

A great little place to stop in for an early lunch! We came in to this cute little place looking for late breakfast/early lunch and it hit the spot. Quick service, we were able to get a table amid the cozy little place, and food was great. The matcha latte wasn't too sweet (pretty mild). The sandwiches were very good - I got the honey mustard chicken wrap and my bf got the turkey bacon panini. Both were so good and we'd like to come back to try one of their waffles Friendly people at the counter, and loved the art! Will be back

Great cozy hipster kind of breakfast place in Austin. People lined up on a Sunday to get their favorite food and drink. Staff did a great job getting customers in and out quickly. Great food!

Back again over 10 years later. I ordered the spring deal of the dill tuna salad sandwich on toasted focaccia bread. My mom had the chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat bread. They were both delicious and tasted freshly made. I'm glad we were able to make it back.

I get my nails done in this area and have walked by Mary's Cafe for the past few years. I finally stopped in, and I'm glad I did! The vibes are kind of like a classic NY-style bagel place, in the sense that there is some seating inside, but seems like more of a take-away spot. You order at the counter, and then wait a few minutes as your food is prepared. Everything was fresh and tasty! However, it is not something I see myself craving and going out of my way to get. But, when I am in the area, like when I am getting my nails done next door, I may find my way over.

We walked in at 11:45am on a Wednesday and there were open tables! They have like maybe five tables and bar seating so you never know coming around noon. Plus UT Austin wasn't having classes yet so that might be why we were lucky. We ordered off the menu and our food came in about ten minutes. My BAT bagel was delicious. You can't go wrong with egg, bacon, avocado and cheese! I picked the jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was toasted perfectly and it hit the spot. There were other bagels to choose from. The bagel sandwich also came with a very small pile of chips which I wasn't expecting but nice. Then we shared the blueberry cream cheese waffle and it was a perfect blend of blueberry, granola and waffle crisp! I highly recommend sharing dessert. Last but not least, I had a hot chai with oat milk which warned me up that chilly day. While we were there, there were lots of folks picking up to-go orders so I might just order ahead next time and eat on campus.

Came here for a casual breakfast date and was delighted to find house made rosemary sea salt bagels! It was delicious by itself, but I wanted to be extra and ordered a lox bagel with tomato, capers, and cream cheese. It was packed with cream cheese. Probably could use less cream cheese and more lox, but was delicious nonetheless. The BAT bagel sandwich was even better- bacon, avocado, tomato, provolone, egg on a jalepeno cheddar bagel is everything a person could want in a breakfast sandwich!

Got parking right in front around 9 pm on a Wed. Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Not too big of a space and not sure if there is more seating elsewhere. Anyhoo, coffee was good and I got the Royal toast and a single pancake with eggs, and sausage. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there.
