Great food, great staff & amazing homemade Roast Beef Hash! I would highly recommend!

Very yummy breakfast, got the pumpkin French toast special as well- loved that it was straight up pumpkin bread! We had great service from Alaina and the others servers did a nice job doing consistent rounds for endless coffee refills. It was pretty busy (11 am on a Sunday), we probably waited for 15 minutes so not bad! Only negative note I have is the table behind us was sat and then forgotten about for quite some time. read more

The food was good the pancakes could be a little bit more fluffier. It is a very small place. Service is good. There is no parking. You have to either park on the street or there is a parking lot if you go down School Street and park behind the Superintendent Building there is plenty of parking there, but if you don't walk easily I suggest to get dropped off but you park if there is no street parking. read more

My wife and I just had breakfast here today. She ordered the eggs Benedict and I got the biscuits and gravy. Food was excellent & the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. My wife is very particular about here bennies, but she absolutely loved these. I was equally impressed with the biscuits and gravy, despite finding a random piece of burnt onion in it. The only other detractors were their unfortunate choice to play twangy country music, and when our server first came over to see if we needed our coffees refilled, upon finding we didn't felt the need to comment, "You guys aren't drinking much." Overall, a nice enough experience that we will likely visit again. read more

Sawyer's was bustling as always on a recent visit for breakfast with my kids. They don't have a website, but you can view the menu on their Facebook page. In addition, they have a specials board and a kids' menu. We had the Belgian waffle on special, the Main Street Omelette, and the Eggs Diablo. Bright side, no wait at 10:30 on Sunday morning, friendly staff, broad menu. Unfortunately food was cold and under seasoned. Cheese in quesadilla wasn't melted, potatoes were bland, syrup came in plastic take out servings. $40 (inc good tip) for 2 people. Not likely to return. read more

Meal was sub par, the hash browns tasted rubbery the eggs tasted off. Staff wasn't the friendliest, they were outright rude but just not friendly. Not gluten friendly. And I over heard a conversation someone (adult) asking to order off the kids menu because they can't eat a large meal and they told them no. As someone who has had bariatric surgery kids meals sometimes are the only option and I hate places that don't allow this. The only reason they got a 2 star was the decorations around the restaurant was cute. But wouldn't recommend this place, drive the extra 10-15 minutes to eat in Bedford or Manchester. read more

Sawyer's Main Street Breakfast opened several months ago inside the former Travers Village Eatery space on Main Street, across the street from Town Hall. This breakfast only restaurant and function hall (banquets for lunch & dinner) is owned and operated by the Putnams, who also owned and operate Putnam's Waterview Restaurant. The menu offerings include the standard breakfast dishes including eggs, 3 egg omelets, pancakes, crepes, French toast, homemade roast beef hash, breakfast sandwiches, sides, and Green Mountain Coffee. Specials are offered too (ie breakfast burrito, sausage gravy & biscuits). The prices are fair, most breakfast dishes $4.99-$10.99. I arrived here around 11:45AM (15 minutes before closing) and the place was very busy, most tables and the counter seating filled up. I was seated at a table that was just cleaned off, given a menu, and offered coffee. It took a few minutes for a waitress to come over and take my order and get my coffee. The fresh brewed coffee ($1.50) was very good, on the robust and strong side. I ordered the Hot Seat Omlette ($8.99) which was a 3 egg omlette folded with homemade roast beef hash, cheddar cheese, grilled green peppers & onions, topped with a jalepeno cheddar cheese sauce and served with cajun grilled home fries & buttered toast. The good portion of hot food was very filling to eat, though the tender lean roast beef hash with the cheese was very salty tasting. The cajun home fries were pretty decent, lightly grilled and seasoned red skin potatoes. While I was eating, some older folks at the two tables around me were discussing Charlie Sheen's adventures, his b-mb-s, and cracking jokes about "winning." I've had to "endure" similar chatter near the office water cooler for almost two weeks, sigh... Anyways, the service was very good and I was given refills on the coffee, even after I finished my breakfast after closing. I had 3 cups to wake up and also to wash down the salty taste of the food. The total for this big breakfast came out to $11.43 with meals tax and before tip. It was off to the gym afterwards. read more

i'm so sorry to say this but this is not the same place I had breakfast at before. Bacon was burnt- really your serving burnt bacon in a breakfast place. My plate had possible 8 home fries on it. It was so disappointing. Some random brand of Ketchup. thought prices of 10-11 for breakfast was a little high. I visited with my daughter on Friday 8/9 and the place was dead. when i walked in i knew i should have walked out. What breakfast place is dead on Friday at 8:30. Great experience here! There was a 15 min wait but we were seated within 10. Staff is so friendly and attentive, always making sure you're good with coffee and water. Visited today with my 8 year old for a mom/son breakfast date. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The restaurant was clean and the waitresses all seemed to work together to make sure everyone was happy. Price was comparable to other local breakfast places and the portion size was great. First time visiting even though I'm a local, and we went in after church. The place was packed, but we were quickly seated and it was clean, quiet and pleasant. Friendly staff, always good service. The place is cramped and some of the tables wobbly, a little close for private conversations, if you push your chair out you might push it into the person sitting behind you, but it's clean and bright. The food is average. My kielbasa was burned and onions over cooked. They always keep your coffee full. Parking can be tough and the waiting area very small. Amazing breakfasts joints are hard to fine. I would recommend it just for the average food but good service. read more

Live in town and love taking trips to sawyers with my family. Very hard to rate this place so low but seems appropriate. If you are in a rush then definitely don't go here. The service staff is exceptionally nice but meals do take a long time. The homemade hash is good most of the time but you can get an order a bit on the salty side from time to time. Another reason for a star being taken away is the price. Bill total is always a bit higher then expected. I really like sawyer sand recommend it but make sure you don't have anywhere you need to be for awhile. read more

We visited Sawyer's as a family for breakfast and the food and service were great. The restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded, and the servers were friendly and prompt. The menu had lot's of stuff ranging from gigantic breakfasts (prime rib and eggs) to a kids menu that had plenty of creative entries. I ended up ordering the Monte Cristo, which had great french toast flavor and was stuffed with meat. My wife got the "Back to Bed Breakfast" which was served on two plates. The kids ordered chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes which were large, fluffy, and stuffed with fruit (or chocolate, as the case may be). The home fries were delicious, seasoned red potatoes cut into large pieces. Needless to say, the portions were very generous and we walked out full. This is definitely a great local restaurant and a breakfast habit worth starting. read more

Stopped here to get takeout for breakfast today while me and my boyfriend were camping. We both really liked the bright, cheery atmosphere inside and would have eaten there if we didn't have a dog waiting in the car. I got the Irish Bendict and my boyfriend got the Polish Scramble. Both of us really enjoyed the overall flavor of our meals. However the corned beef hash was canned (which is strange since they make their roast beef hash from scratch) and the yolk was way over cooked in my poached eggs so there was no runny yolky goodness to my eggs benedict. The onions could have been diced smaller in my boyfriend's scramble but they were cooked down so they were nice, soft and not raw in any way. Both of us enjoyed the hash browns but agreed that they could have benefited from some garlic salt. Overall we would go there again but we wouldn't go out of our way to drive up from Nashua to get breakfast. If we do end up there again I'll likely try roast beef hash since we heard good things about it. read more
