No air conditioning first of all. And it's 90 degrees here. The food is good but it's a little bit expensive for what you get. We just got taco each and a Coke and something to go and was like $39 so that's a little expensive and the service is good. I will start off by saying that you will get your money's worth especially for the size of the burrito you get--it's huge! However, size means nothing if the taste isn't there. And unfortunately, this was my experience with my California burrito. Personally, the meat was bland, the fries tasted old, and the sour cream was a bit sour. I ordered online through DoorDash...I'm not sure if the quality of their food changes based on dine-in or delivery, although that shouldn't matter... but it just makes me wonder. I will say the red salsa and green salsa was a nice little kick the burrito to give it some kind of flavor. read more

Went here on a night where there were no other customers so you'd think they would be fast, but nope. Waited for 15 min for my food. I understand that things happen and there could have been something that I was unaware of that delayed my order, but while I was there I watched as a friend of the guy working came in and started chatting. Ordered the fish burrito and it came out in a timely manner probably 10 minutes. It seemed pretty fresh and was very large with 2 nice pieces of fish inside. The fish was lightly battered and fries and the salsa verde tasted great on top too. There was a nice guy working the cashier and there's inside and outdoor seating available. Came in today and ordered a California burrito and a small drink. I paid $21.74 for these two items. The ratio on the burrito was terrible. One side of the burrito only had guac and sour cream. The other side of the burrito was missing guac and sour cream. The burrito was small, and for the price, it was definitely not worth it. I have heard good things so maybe it was a just bad burrito. read more

I enjoyed a very good machaca breakfast burrito. It came with plenty of beef machaca with scrambled eggs. They could of been seasoned a little better however, but tasty nevertheless. I liked that they put a good amount of fresh onions and green bell peppers. They had a good crispy texture. The burrito arrived piping hot and was good eating with their red hot sauce. Actually, the green hot sauce tasted very good too with the burrito. The burrito was of a good size too and came with a quality flour tortilla. Service was friendly and quick. This is a great Mexican restaurant. You can eat there or take your food to go. The food is very good and the service is fast and friendly.

This place use to be my favorite with it being close to home and food was worth your money and great for a late night munchie craving. But now A simple california burrito is now $15 without any size difference from prior price increases and a carne asada fries is closer to $20 with it being so simple and no real flavor and any additions costs more. The store will also closer earlier than listed, so the later hours are not reliable. Staff is nice but food is not worth your money. read more

Got the adobada fries and some rolled tacos for dinner the other night. Was pretty good, solid 3.5 stars. When it came to the fries the meat was tender and actually seasoned and the fries were crispy and delicious. The rolled tacos we got had everything on them (lettuce, tomato, guac, sour cream, cheese); they had a good crunch and the toppings were fresh. The red and green salsas both had great flavor, the dude at the cashier was cool, and the cook was fast, so that was what brought it up from 3.5 to a 4. The only downside was they skimped on the portions of the fries and tacos for the price we paid, but overall enjoyed the meal. read more

Usually this place has been great but tonight I was so disappointed in the quality of there burritos, I was told it's possibly cause they hired a new cook not the usual owner cooking. Disappointed in our dinner tonight. We ordered a carne asada burrito which lacked taste and very little avocado and meat. Also ordered a machaca plate which was made of left over carnitas with hardly any eggs. My husband ordered fish tacos which were mainly cabbage filled. Place has switched hands probably 3-4 times in the last three years, changing the name every time. I grew up here in San Diego and my wife and I used to love going to the taco shop that originally was located in this space. However, I have to say this new place hands down has the worst Mexican food I have had in San Diego. American style guacamole.....aka 80% sour cream, a hint of artificial lime juice and artificial avocado. Greasy meat, cardboard chips and above average prices. Do yourself a favor and just hit senior burros a block away. It's significantly better. Happy eating SD! read more
