Downtown Delray location Has the best pizza around by far. Friendly staff plus great food = 5*

I went in this place last weekend and have been there a few times before. The pizza is decent, which is why I'm giving them two stars. I've had better, and I've had worse. The service in this place is mediocre at best, and at times pathetic. Last weekend I walked in, went to get a drink out of the cooler, and went to the counter to order a pizza. At no point did one of the employees greet me. No "Hello," no "how are you?," no "we'll be right with you." Instead, I stood at the cash register and just looked around, money in hand. After waiting for about a minute, I walked back to the cooler, put the drink back, and left. If you're going to have a restaurant, your guests should come first. Greet them when they walk in the door. Acknowledge their presence, no matter how busy you are. Also, don't ridicule other customers in front of customers. One employee said to another that a customer changed the pickup time for a to-go order by 15 minutes, and thought it was hilarious that the customer would even bother to call to make that change. They won't be getting my business again. read more

Having been a Sazio fan for a long time we decided to order a pie to go from Sazio Express. What a completely terrible idea . First off the process of pick was not up to the level of service Sazio"s has made me accustomed too. People not wearing masks properly, kitchen prep touching there face and unorganized. No big deal everybody has an off day hear and there. Get home pizza was All Wrong. Nothing like spending $23 for a pizza you love to come home and it's missing ingredients.... very upsetting and disappointing. Sooo I called and told them and was meet with some of the rudest staff I have dealt with, cursed at and hung up on. Wow ok clearly there having a bad day , call back same deal again. Hmm ok this is not Sazio"s standards and they should know. Now being a understanding guy and a former district manager I call the real Sazio"s ask for a manager and explain. Ray has a restaurant manager Ego no biggie. He made things right and understood my frustration. STOP THERE. So Ray calls me back calling me a liar and accusing me .... then proceeds to tell me the replacement pie he offered he really should take back..... Ok thanks Ego Ray and Sazios for some great food and great times. Unfortunately you can keep your pizza as my time for making 3 calls was to help and inform you. Trust me 3 calls and the frustration isn't worth it. You just lost 5 customers. read more

Stopped in the other night on our walk to the beach to grab a couple of slices. We got two of the buffalo chicken ranch slices and they were hot (too hot for me to eat right away!) and very delicious. The staff was also very pleasant and helpful. read more

Sazio express is the best pizza and subs in Delray. The owners are all great guys. My food is always hot, fresh and made the way I like it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was in the restaurant when the past episode occurred and remember that there are 2 sides to every story and I saw the other side. Came here for lunch on a weekday. 2 people were behind the counter. They slowly processed the order of the group before me. When it came time for my order I asked for a cheese and veggies only sub on whole wheat. The guy said "veggies??" like that item doesn't exist at a sandwich shop. "What kind of veggies??" I also asked for wheat bread and he snapped back that they don't have wheat. Then another girl took over the sandwich making process and she was as slow as molasses. While I was waiting I watched a lady come in for a slice of pizza and be completely ignored for 5 minutes while that fool walked around behind the counter doing random jobs. Sazio express has always been my go to for great pizza slices to go, on my trips to the beach. Always courteous and timely on my order. During season this restaurant has a line but I'm always willing to wait. The pizza is always fresh and big for the price. And when I'm not in the mood for pizza the subs are to die for. I am picky with my sub roll bread and it makes my mouth water to think about them. I have met the owners many times while eating here and they were always polite and took the time to make sure I was taken care of correctly. I also know alot of the different types of people that come through Delray and believe that the owner would take care of each person accordingly. read more

Whoever the manager or owner is is literally the rudest human being I have ever encountered. The woman behind the counter made french fries instead of home fries so we had to correct that. Once the home fries were brought (after 15 minutes of waiting again) the rude manager said to us "some people dont know what home fries are I guess" throwing his own employee right under the bus! I go out of my way to eat at sazio express. Their pizza brings me back home to New York with the thin crust, delicious sauce, and perfect amount of cheese. It comes by the slice too! I've also enjoyed the meatball, Italian, and Rachel heroes. All had generous amounts of meat and the bread was so fresh I would have to guess its baked daily on site. I'm excited to try everything else on the menu and know I won't be disappointed, I haven't yet! read more

The food is great! Pretty much the same as the more expensive counterpart "Sazios". Although I will stick to ordering it via delivery dudes. I stopped here after work on a Saturday afternoon. There was a steady flow of customers, but it wasn't too busy. They seemed to be understaffed for the day. The eating area wasn't maintained and the staff seemed stressed. They are responsible for taking your order and cooking it in sight. The young woman who took my order and proceeded to cook my food was efficient and pleasant. The other young lady who took over cashing everyone out was quite the opposite. I stood patiently waiting to pay, once it was my turn she proceeded to tell me that she was going to take care of the French Canadians who tried to skip me in line first because they only has drinks. Let's skip the girl who you have a better chance of receiving a tip from! After putting my card back in my wallet and collecting silverware, napkins, etc. she proceeded to yell at me that my salads were ready. Again food was fresh and great staff not so much. read more

Best Pizza in south Florida. Hands down. There is no question, no argument. The pizza here is miles ahead from the next best.........miles and miles ahead. They can be rude. But I don't come here for the customer service. I get my pizza to go. Even when its a slice, always take it to go. My only knock is that its EXPENSIVE. Slices are almost 5 bucks a piece when you factor in taxes. But they are big. Two slices will feed any normal human. So that's 10 bucks for the best pizza around.Not bad. read more

Not sure about the other reviews but my customer service was pleasant and fast just what you expect out of a pizzeria. Not gourmet pizza just good old new York style with fresh ingredients. This place has good pizza and the pizza makers are friendly. The place is clean and inviting. I don't usually do this but the reason i gave this place 2 stars is because of how the cashier treated the customer in front of me and the way she talked about the customer after she left. She got very nasty with the customer just because the customer asked for change. If regular customers are treated like that, I'd hate to see what happens to the atypical customers. The food was good but the service was terrible. The guy with the beard who worked the cash register screwed up my order and then continued to be rude about me to customers behind me who happened to be my family. He then prepared the food he didn't order after I told him to to forget it and then wanted to charge me for it when I was getting ready to leave. After an exchange of words he told me to just get out! Unprofessional! If I were an owner I would be looking into this guy who represents his restaurant. I thought it would be cheap, touristy, close to the beach pizza....nay , nay ! By the slice or by the pie this place has great pizza. My wife had the bacon, tomato , ranch-Da bomb!
